Alpha King’s Special Soulmate

EPISODE FORTY

THEME: Delivery room

DARK MOON PACK

My eyes flared opened as a sudden stab of pain shot through me. Slowly I tried to sit up and then lazily dragged myself out of the bed to the bathroom. I pulled down my short made from a flimsy fabric and sat on the toilet to pee. The amount of liquid that dropped from my center got me worried and I bit down my lower lips as another pain pulled at my muscles.

I let out a groan as I stood up and wore my short back and went back to the room. Pain spasmed in my whole body when I felt it again. Instead of laying back on the bed, I started towards the door to get the one person I knew could help me out.

I used the wall as a support until I got to his room. “Riley..” I knocked.

The door opened and our gaze locked after some seconds. “Edda.. are you alright?” His eyes did a slow crawl on me.

I could feel the bead of sweats running down my face. “I think.. I think.. my water broke.” I stuttered.

Alpha Riley’s pupil expanded in shock. “Have you been getting contractions?” He asked calmly.

“A sharp pain in my back woke me up..” I tapped on the wall at the pain. “I think I am about to have the pup!” I shouted at him. The pain wasn’t the usual back pain and muscle pain that comes with being pregnant.

Alpha Riley moved into action immediately. “I am sorry.” He rushed back to the room only for him to be on call.

“Yes I’ll bring her over to the infirmary now.” He ended the call.

I breathed out shakily. “I just spoke to doctor Jenny. They will prepare everything before we get to the infirmary.” Alpha Riley made me lean on him as he led me to the sitting room.

It took us forever. We stopped a few times for me to rest each time I got a contraction until we made it to the door.

“Damn it! The key!” Alpha Riley left me on the porch as he rushed back to get the car keys in his room.

I was in so much pains. Tears clouded my eyes. “Go faster!” I begged.

Alpha Riley looked at me with so much worry in his eyes. He stretched out a hand towards me so I could hold on to it and I did while his other hand on the wheels. “I am sorry.. but we have to be careful on this path.” He apologized. That’s what he has been saying since we left home.

“Why are you.. saying sorry? Why are you sorry?” I asked.

“For putting you through this.. seriously I wish I can take this pain from you.” He locked our hands tightly and raised it to his mouth and kissed it.

“Riley.. I don’t know if I should be saying this to you. But I have.. to say it.. do I really have to leave after my pup is born?” I asked.

Alpha Riley looked away and didn’t answer. My breathing was fast but I was ready to say everything on my mind.

“Riley.. I know.. we didn’t agree to stay together.. forever but..” I stopped to refill my lungs with enough air.

“I love you.” I confessed.

It was as if I was talking to a cemented wall even though alpha Riley had gone still at my words. I saw his hand trembling on the wheels as he focused on the rough paths ahead.

He doesn’t have to give a response now because of the tension right? But I couldn’t hold back how I felt towards the alpha. And if I don’t confess it now I may never have the chance to confess again.

Alpha Riley let go of my hand gently and placed them both on the wheels. Silence stretched out between us for a long minutes before I gained my courage to speak again. “Forgive me.. Riley.. I just couldn’t help it.” I sobbed at another contraction.

Alpha Riley pulled the car to a stop without saying a word to me. He walked around the car to open the door and helped me out of the car.

Doctor Jenny and two Iotas were already waiting in front of the infirmary. The pain I was feeling at this moment as they took me in isn’t from the labor but the fact that Riley didn’t respond and it only means one thing. The end of the deal with the alpha. Once the pup is out, everything that has to do with us would come to an end.

Another contraction began and I gasped as it squeezed and stretched the muscles in my belly. I tried to breathe through the pain. I could feel my skin turning cold as my eyes was fixated on my belly. I was taken in for examination as I was in the middle of another nerve wrecking contraction.

“Please bring the alpha into the delivery room.” I heard Doctor Jenny instruct one of the iotas.

“But why?” I asked.

“It is a tradition here. Males wolves have to be with their mates during child birth.” Doctor Jenny answered.

“But.. you know.. the alpha and I.. are not mated.” I countered.

“You are carrying his pup.” Alpha Riley walked into the delivery room.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

“Is the baby out?” He asked the nurse that brought him in.

“No, it’s her first time and might take a while.” Doctor Jenny replied.

“How many hours do we have to wait?” Alpha Riley demanded as color drained out of his face.

Doctor Jenny smiled brightly. “Some first timers delivers quickly than expected.”

“Are you sure she can have the baby herself?” Alpha Riley questioned.

“Yes.. she doesn’t need surgery. I am sure she is capable of having the baby herself.” Doctor Jenny responded.

“So what do I need to do?” I saw Alpha Riley ran his hand through his hair.

“Help her feel relaxed.” Doctor Jenny walked out of the delivery room with two other iotas.

Alpha Riley sat on the bed and looked into my eyes. I was hoping he would bring up the conversation but he didn’t say a word as time slipped away. But Alpha Riley only kept massaging my belly. I didn’t know how long he did the massaging but at this point I was close to falling asleep until another contraction began. I felt the excruciating pain in my muscles and the tremor that ran through my body.

I arched my back in pain as alpha Riley rushed off to call the doctor. The medical team came back into the delivery room and doctor Jenny set to do an examination on me after wearing a glove.
