Chapter 107
Kaia POV
"Father?" I watch on in bewilderment as Alora walks up to Father hesitantly, before his arms wrap around her gently.
I don't understand..."
"Neither do I Kaia. But this must be some kind of miracle, a gift from the Moon Goddess. Here to declare our pack sacred in her eyes. How she sends a lost child to me..." His hands now cup Alora's face as he takes her in,
"A lost child? Father you aren't making any sense." His words were clear but to me it was as if he were talking in riddles. I was finding his words hard to hear.
"You are a twin Kaia, but your twin died at child birth with your Mother. Or so I was lead to believe. I am so sorry my child, I didn't know...I was so distraught by my mate's sudden death I believed the hospital staff."
I can feel the ground shattering beneath me, my legs numb as I reach for the sofa and sit back down before collapsing. 1
"What are you saying?" I gasp.
"Alora has come home to us Kala.."
No, no, no this can't be happening..
"My child resurrected from the dead. We must celebrate this news... Samson." Father calls out to Samson, who walks in as commanded.
He automatically walks over to me, his closeness adding a support I didn't know I needed. I must look awful, ghost like in myself from the news.
"Alpha?"
"We need to celebrate the news, we need all the pack members congregated outside late this morning.." "No Father...we need to do a blood test. Just to be certain." He was moving too quickly, too eager to just accept the news. Accept Alora, without any research. "Kala..." Father growls at me, as my head goes in-between my legs to stop the dizzy spell taking control. This was too much.
"I'm happy to do a blood test Alpha...it has been agreed by Kaia and myself." Alora smiles softly but doesn't give much else away. I think she was in shock just as much as me.
"Very well, we will go straight after breakfast."
He walks out of the room, his head held high humming to himself, not once glancing at my shocked state
on the sofa.
Jf what he is saying is true...a child he thought had died 20 years ago has come back to him. But I need a moment to absorb the information he has just shared. He has never once spoken of another child, of another baby.
How could he keep this from me...
"Father." I roar, my growing anger taking over me as my need for more information takes presidence over breakfast.
He stops in his tracks, his alpha aura rolling off him and aimed at me for my outburst.
I could feel the thickness of his alpha command held within it and it took my breath away. There was a reason Than could never use his aura well on me, I was an alpha's daughter....which he didn't know. As well as being a rightful Luna wolf. He takes a threatening step towards me, and I can see it in his eyes...for a brief moment he considers me an enemy. I'm not, I'm not going against him but this was too much too soon. I just needed time to catch up, to understand how I have a twin. "I can't....you need...." I find the words hard to communicate, as my body trembles with a sensation different to anger...hurt.
I was hurt.
Hurt that he would use his aura on me. That his eyes would look at me in that way.
As a tear starts to run down my cheek, my face reddening from the audience of our father and daughter argument...his demeanour changes. Softens.
"Forgive me my darling..." He takes a step towards me, his hand stroking at my cheek.
"You were born first...my beautiful baby girl. We were expecting twins, she was so happy...twins.
As soon as you were born I couldn't put you down. I was holding you in my arms when Aliki started to push again but there were complications she had lost a lot of blood.
The doctors did all they could but the strain of the labour was just too much for her.
She died whilst I cradled you to my chest. I was told the second baby hadn't survived. That I had lost both mate and baby. I just believed them..."
"What does this mean?" I gasp from his words.
"We will do the blood tests, but I think you already know don't you. That Alora has come home, that Alora is your twin sister."
