Chapter 11
“one more step lover boy and I’ll drive a knife right through her ribs,” the attacker said pressing something sharp into my skin which caused me to scream.
“either we can all come to an agreement or my buddies join me, and we hurt your precious little boy” he added on. At the sound of my baby coming into this, I suddenly felt the need to see him. Was he okay, was he hurt?
Not Jayson.
“save my boy” I mouthed down at George. I knew that the man behind me wouldn’t see my mouthing to George, so I gathered this was my opportunity.
I needed to save Jayson. I couldn’t live with myself if I caused my baby boy harm, that could easily have been avoided. The pressure of the knife against my skin only reminded me of how serious this is.
I could see the hesitation in my brother’s eyes. George loved Jayson like his own, but I was his sister. No matter what issues we had as we grew up we were family.
“GO GEORGE!” I finally shouted. Fearing the others coming and hurting my family, not when I have to wait and watch. To see the light leave their eyes at my stupid behaviour.
When George acted on my words the attacker pushed me down on the floor, knocking my head into the wall, hard. I scrambled for any type of weapon to hit him with, but he was already running down the stairs after my brother and Jayson.
Luckily, I managed to grab onto his ankle delaying in the time he got to my brother. The man fell flat to the ground. Hitting his chin against the side of a table. His eyes shot back to me but instead of fear. I was relieved knowing that George and Jayson may have gotten away safely.
I had to watch with tears as George ran out of the house with my boy in his arms. His eyes searching for mine. I had wondered if that was the last time I was ever going to see those precious green eyes.
The sound of the car skidding out of the driveway was replaced with the sound of my main door slamming shut.
The hallway filled up with the attacker’s body, A royally pissed off face replacing his previous sinister smile. I really didn’t know what would happen to me but I had just hoped that Jayson was safe.
If this was the last minute of my short life I would pray that both of them are okay.
George point of view
The minute I was on the road and I was becoming more convinced that the man wasn’t following me. I pulled up into my friend’s house. I grabbed Jayson from the seat and ran to the door of my college friend’s house. He lived not far from my sister’s apartment.
He opened the door and looked at me alarmed as I anxiously held my nephew in my arms.
“please just take him for one hour, my sister is being attacked, I can’t really explain it now,” I said running over and handing over Jayson to the man I’ve known for years.
He was compliant and there were no questions asked which relieved me because I didn’t have time to explain and I think he knew that.
When I was back in the car I drove back to her. I knew that she wanted us both out of there but I wasn’t going to hide away and hope that those men don’t kill my sister. She wanted me to get her baby out of the house and now that he is safe I was about to make sure hose men pay for inflicting this fear into her.
When I knew of the situation, I couldn’t help but feel instantly guilty. There was me buying luxury gifts and flaunting it that I didn’t think of the consequences of showing off our wealth. It was lesson I was taught by Leon. I should have known better.
Leon may have cheated but he sure knows how to protect his family.
By the time I got to the house, I didn’t know what to expect. Seeing 3 black cars sitting outside her driveway and the curtains closed in her house I knew it was a suicide mission walking in there.
I had already called the police and god knows how long they would take to get here, hopefully, it’s very soon.
“yes, I’m outside, please hurry,” I said tapping my leg frantically as I was back on the phone with the police.
Police sirens suddenly filled the street and even though they told me to wait I couldn’t bear to watch.
Why wouldn’t they let me inside?
I watched the policemen kick down the main door to the house and barge in. They ran inside shouting words forcing the attackers to stand down.
At least they’re not stupid to fight the police who are pointing their guns at them. Knowing that a single move could end their life. This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
I gave the police a good 30 seconds before I was inside the house searching the rooms for my sister. I was surprised in myself when I passed the attackers who were being handcuffed by the police. I was pissed but my main focus was on Liz.
“Oh Lizzy,” I said falling to my knees and wrapping my arms around a tied-up Liz in the bathroom. She had her clothes torn and red bruises all over her arms, legs and neck.
My worst fear.
“They didn’t rape me, they didn’t do it” she kept repeating as she rocked back and forth.
I felt a sensation of relief at her words.
I grabbed scissors from her bathroom drawer and cut the ties off and released her. As soon as her wrists were free she wrapped her arms around me. “please tell me he’s safe where is he” she was talking about Jayson.
“he’s safe, c’mon let’s go, “I said lifting her up and holding her waist as we walked out. We needed to get out of that apartment.
Before we could leave, one of the policemen stopped us.
“come to this address if you want to ask us questions, we need to find her son first,” I told one of them writing down an address.
One of the police officers hesitated but complied.
I knew my sister better than anyone and I knew that the one person she needed right now was not here. Hate to admit it but I couldn’t even be the one. It was him, it would always and forever be him no matter how much I hated him.
Charlize POV
As soon as George slowed to a stop I practically jumped out of the car and raced over to Mike, who stood at his entrance with Jayson by his legs.
His big green eyes locked onto mine and I was overjoyed when he ran up to me. I bent down and picked him up cradling him to me. The smell of his scent was like a drug to me, one that I wanted to smell forever.
“mama,” he said into my neck. Poor baby probably didn’t know what just happened.
I didn’t care that he was pressing his tiny fingers into my neck where I knew bruises were. I knew that this was worth the pain. Every sacrifice was worth the pain.
“Oh, honey I’m so sorry. Please let me make you some tea” Helen said coming towards us. Helen was Mike’s dear mother who has been a joy to have around when I need to concentrate on work and can’t watch over Jayson.
George stepped up, stopping her. “maybe tomorrow Helen, I really should take her to see Leon,” he said thanking Helen for the kind gesture.
I rolled my eyes. Pathetic I know, but he was right I needed him right now. No matter how much I resented the idea.
When we got into his car, I directed George to the address of where he would be.
“I really don’t want to talk about it,” I said well basically snapped at George as he asked me exactly what happened. I was not in the right mind to think about what just happened.
There was only one thing I could think of. How weak I would feel if they had the chance to take advantage of me.
