Chapter 720
Faye was momentarily stunned. Then, she rushed to Chris' side while calling his name and sobbing. I watched with my mouth agape, shocked at how much the couple cared for each other. They sure loved each other deeply.
"How dare you hit me?"
"Because you had it coming. You played with a woman's feelings and were unrepentant about it. This serves you right."
"Stay out of my business." Chris spat out a mixture of blood and saliva. Then, he scowled. "How dare you hit me, Winston? I'm telling on you."
"Pfft, why can't I hit a two-timing guy like you? Telling my dad on me is all you can do, Chris. Go ahead. Tell my dad what happened here. Maybe I should do it instead. He should know what you've done too, you filthy animal."
The superhero who intervened was Winston? Why did he intervene? Who was he to Chris? Why did he ask me about Zara? Who exactly was Winston?
"You have one minute, Chris. Disappear or I'll cripple one of your legs. You know I can do it," Winston threatened while squinting his eyes.
Chris' nose was bleeding from the attack. He tried to wipe away the blood with the back of his hand, but that only made his face messier and more hideous.
Faye helped Chris gather himself. He glared at Winston. His pride wouldn't allow him to take a beating from Winston yet there was nothing much he could do. He could only shoot daggers at him. If stares could kill, Winston would have been dead many times over.
"What? You want to hit me back?
Sure. Come at me. I'll go easy on you." Winston beckoned to Chris,
taunting him with his fingers. Henet
then assumed a wrestler posture. He was as serious as he despised Chris.
Chris was a douchebag who knew not to mess with the wrong person. Knowing that he couldn't defeat Winston in a fight, he cussed at him and left with Faye. He only left behind an unconvincing threat, "Just you wait, Winston." Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
The commotion in the corridor attracted the attention of the customers in the private rooms nearby. One man opened the door to assess the surroundings before retreating into his room.
I returned to the window. Winston looked at me and smiled wryly, one hand scratching the back of his head. He looked extra goofy now.
"Come clean now. I don't want to extract information out of you by force." I would be awfully oblivious if I still couldn't discern that there was something between Winston and Zara.
Winston continued to scratch the back of his head as his eyes darted all over the place. He refused to meet my gaze.
"If you don't come clean, I'll ask Zara."
"Hehe. Well, Chris' dad is my dad's half-brother. I couldn't stand his shamelessness, so I punished him. I know you're a good friend of Zara, so no need to thank me. If you want, you can call me Superman
That cheeky joke. I laughed out loud uncontrollably.
