Sweetheart, Do You Still Love Me

Chapter 682 Leave Her Alone

Chapter 682 Leave Her Alone

Hank suddenly recalled the information he found out as his face twisted into a dark scowl. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.

When Yelena was abroad, she had been hanging out with Federick!

This is… sh*tty.

So, she should consider it a light punishment that he only made her slightly jealous. Still, he didn't expect Slevin to look for her. It seemed like he needed to make an appointment with Slevin.

So, he took out his phone and called the number he dug up from his investigations.

As the call connected, the voice from the other end rang gently, "Hello? Who is this?"

"Slevin, I want to see you." Even though Slevin had not heard Hank's voice prior to this, he could guess who it was just based on the man's tone alone.

"Aren't you in the hospital right now? Why the sudden interest in meeting up?"

Slevin had just finished showering and was towel drying his hair when he answered the phone. Nonetheless, there wasn't even a hint of annoyance in his placid expression. Instead, he couldn't help but smile at Hank's request.

"Are you meeting up or not?"

Slevin clicked his tongue at Hank. They shared the same father, but Hank's personality truly left much to be desired. "Sure. However, it wouldn't be too difficult for you to divulge the topic of our discussion

later, right?"

Unfortunately, Hank had no interest in wasting his time any longer. So, he cut to the chase, growling, "This is not a date, Slevin. You don't need an itinerary and I'm not giving you one."

Slevin widened his eyes at that. "I'm your brother. How could you—"

"Tomorrow at 3.00PM at the hospital. Bye." Hank immediately hung up the phone without hesitation.

Slevin always harbored the thought that Hank was rather dull. Regardless, he didn't expect Hank's personality to be as interesting as a pebble. It seemed that the man couldn't even take a joke! Nevertheless, Slevin shook his head and smiled helplessly as he thought just how similarly willful they both were.

The following day at 3.00PM, Slevin arrived at the hospital right on time. Not only that, but he also even prepared a fruit basket and a bouquet of flowers for his visit to Hank.

Hank had gotten up early for Slevin's arrival. Alas, he looked pallid since he had been sick for a long time and would cough from time to time.

Once Slevin saw how frail he looked, he couldn't help but strangle any thoughts of teasing Hank right in the cradle. Besides, it would be akin to kicking an already sick dog when it was down.

"What is it that you wanted to see me for?" Slevin sat on the chair on the side.

"I don't have any interest in niceties. So, I'll get straight to the point. Why did you look for Yelena?"

Slevin naturally chuckled at his demands. "I can't believe that you actually have your eyes on that woman. How did you even find out about this?"

"Just answer the question."

"Yes. You're right. I did seek her out behind your back when we were abroad." Slevin curled his lips into a gleeful smirk. "Also, I realized that little girlfriend of yours is quite cute."

Hank shot daggers at him. "I hope you aren't entertaining any thoughts you shouldn't have about her. Otherwise, I'll never let you off the hook."

"Don't worry. Even though your little girlfriend is quite cute, she's dumb. I'll never take interest in someone like her."

"That's enough. You haven't told me why you went looking for her."

Slevin crossed his legs and put on a nonchalant look. "So what if I did seek her out? Why can't I do so? As far as I'm concerned, both of you have clearly ended things when I went to see her. So, it doesn't

really matter, does it? There was definitely no foul play because I certainly didn't interfere with your relationship."

"You know that's not what I'm implying." Hank's aura had turned chilly at that statement.

"Ooh. You were asking what I was doing with her. Come on. You're not an old man undergoing menopause. Keep your temper under control. You'll only get old faster if you get worked up all the time." Slevin sized him up languidly. When he realized he said something wrong, he immediately covered his mouth. "I'm sorry. I almost forgot. You probably won't live until then."

Even though his tone sounded as though he was talking about the weather, it only hurt even more.

Of course, Slevin had said it on purpose just to agitate Hank.

Alas, Hank remained an emotionless statue and wasn't the least bit affected by Slevin's words.

"Fine. I'll tell you. I didn't do anything with her. I just told her some of the reasons behind what you did."

Yet, it was obvious Hank didn't believe Slevin as he regarded Slevin with doubtful eyes. "Is that all?"

Slevin shrugged. "Of course. I still hope that both of you could achieve a good ending. So, I didn't tell her everything. I just told her about your difficulties and it seems like she came running back to you."

As things snapped into place, Hank finally understood why Yelena suddenly popped up in his house and refused to leave. She even said those strange words.

As things snapped into place, Hank finally understood why Yelena suddenly popped up in his house

and refused to leave. She even said those strange words.

So, it was Slevin behind it. Wait…

"You were here the last time Yelena came to my house?"

Slevin widened his eyes in surprise. "Of course. I personally sent her to your house. Why? You didn't know?"

Hank's eyes darkened. Nobody told him that Slevin had tagged along. "I didn't."

"Then, I have to say that Mrs. Damazio did quite a splendid job hiding that." Slevin couldn't help but snicker at the mention of Simone.

"Although I couldn't make heads or tails of your ulterior motives, I'm still issuing you a warning. Don't even think about touching my people. If you do, I will never let you off the hook so easily."

Slevin raised a brow at his threat. "Don't you already know who I am? I'm the illegitimate child of the Damazio Family. What can I do? The most I can do is fight for the inheritance against you, isn't that all I'm good for?"

There was an obvious hint of ridicule in his tone when he spoke.

However, Hank didn't believe for a second that Slevin was telling the truth. If anything, it seemed more of a facade and his slippery snake of a half-brother was definitely angling for something. Well, that didn't matter in the long run as he would never place his trust in someone like Slevin.

"You're not in a position to even think about the Damazios' assets."

Slevin didn't mind Hank’s cold attitude. "Is that so? I'd say my position solely depends on your capability, then. Judging by your current sickly state, I believe it would be as easy as stealing candy from a baby. I won't even need to do anything in particular and it'll fall straight into my lap."

Even though Slevin's words were harsh, it was also the truth.

Hank didn't have anything up his sleeves to refute Slevin's claims and merely looked at Slevin quietly. Yet, Slevin felt an odd sense of danger from those seemingly quiet eyes.

"That's none of your business. Leave the people around me alone, especially Yelena. That's it."

Slevin knew from that tone that it was the end of their far-from-amicable conversation. Thus, he shot Hank a complicated look as a slight frown appeared on his face and he got up to leave.

Hank indeed wasn't as easy an opponent as he thought.
