The Billionaire's Mistake (Anya and Daniel)

MISTAKE 9

Chapter 9: Barely a husband.

His wife? Anya’s heart could not help but drum. There was a time when she prayed to hear such words from Daniel. To think he would say it at such a time.

“Still!” she insisted, “You can’t stay. What are you going to do, stay here all night while I sleep?” she asked.

“Yes,” he answered and her mouth fell open.

“Please,” she suddenly heard herself beg, “If you are not going to harm me like you had said, then there is no need for you to keep punishing me, is there?” she asked.

“You think I am punishing you?” he asked.

Yes, she really thought so. Anya felt that every moment he did not let her go free, was his revenge for how they got married. Was she not humiliated enough? Now she had to be afraid. for her life?

“If not, then why are you doing this?” Anya asked. He admitted that he enjoyed teasing her. It had started as merely a measure to force her home with him, but it had become quite additive when interacting with her. Daniel was not going to admit it out loud.

“I just find it odd. Not too long ago, you were in love with me. You stuck it out in a marriage know no one but you wanted. Then suddenly you want a divorce? Is there someone else?” he asked and her face turned ugly.

“You mean to accuse me of cheating?” she asked

“If not?” he asked and she started laughing. Anya was not sure what had come over her, but she could not stop laughing. NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.

‘Says the person who has some true love or childhood sweetheart that the world knows about while he is married. Even if all the men in the world want to stand up in anger that their wife has lost interest in them or she is looking elsewhere, you are the last person who should open. your mouth,” Anya sneered. Daniel could feel anger rolling off her.

“You think I am cheating on you? We are barely married. Every wife can demand loyalty from her husband, but you are not qualified,” Daniel found her words funny.

“And have you heard me complain? What gives you the right to ask me such a question? I am barely your wife, but you are also barely my husband,” she said. Daniel’s face darkened at her words. Barely her husband? He felt anger pulse in his veins.

“You are the one who got yourself into this situation. How can you be dissatisfied? Do not talk about Selene in such a manner again,” Daniel warned.

“Or what? You will kill me?” Anya asked. She found it shameful that her own husband was warning her to not insult his lover.

Chapté Barely a husband.

“Do you think I am soft tempered? Selene is my bottom line, Anya. Never cross it,” he warned her with dark eyes and she swallowed her retort. He was right. She was talking to a ruthless man. She was already in this situation where her life was

on the line and she was still arguing

with him?

“Fine, I will never mention her again, okay?” she asked.

“You should spare your energy worrying about your life instead of all this, right?” he asked and she almost choked on her saliva.

He was right. It hurt to hear, but Anya knew she had no right to question him. She felt stifled. She wanted to distance herself from him.

“Since you insist on staying, the couch is available for you. Make yourself comfortable,” Anya

said.

Anya took a towel and entered the bathroom. This made him let out another low chuckle. She would usually change in her room and enter the bathroom as she lived alone and did not need to be so cautious about walking naked.

Anya would even cook in her underwear when she felt like it. But she could not do that when he was there. She took a quick bath and realized she had not taken her clothes.

She had already thrown her used clothes into the small washer in her apartment. Anya peeked out of the bathroom to meet his dark eyes.

“Can you turn around?” she asked and he raised a brov

“Why?” he asked cheekily and this infuriated her,

“Forget it,” Anya said through her teeth and walked out of the bathroom with her towel tied around her body. She walked over to the wardrobe by the wall and took out her clothes and

returned to the bathroom.

The sight of her in that towel, made his gaze darken as his heart burned suddenly. He should not have stayed. It was as though he was torturing himself. He picked a magazine from her bedside table and started keeping himself busy.

Anya came out of the bathroom a while after in a modest two piece night wear and walked into the small galley kitchen. She decided to completely ignore him. Acting as though he was not sitting in the bedroom, Anya made some noodles and returned to the room. Then she walked out onto the small balcony and sat to have some fresh air. She sat on the table and started eating without care.

On the couch, he felt uncomfortable when she ignored him that much. It did not help that he was still in his work clothes. He took off his tie and jacket, unbuttoned his shirt and rolled up his sleeves. Only then did he feel a little more. She soon returned to the room and saw his relaxed state and frowned deeply. She went into the kitchen to wash her bowl. When she was done, she returned to the room and climbed into bed.

“No dinner for me?” he asked. Seeing her completely ignore him, he felt the urge to mess with

her.

“I don’t know what you like to eat,” she answered and he raised a brow.

She jumped into bed and rolled herself into a large burrito with her blanket and made a silent prayer. She prayed that Daniel does not kill her in her sleep and prayed that she woke up in one piece. Afterward, she went to bed, ignoring Daniel still on the couch.

Anya was not sure how she slept that night, but by the time she opened her eyes the next day, Daniel’s strong arm was wrapped tight around her midsection, gluing her back to him in the process.

She froze; everything that happened the last night made a waltz through her brain.

She was shocked, confused and terrified. Why was Daniel in her bed? He was still on the couch. when she went to bed last night.

The moment she woke up, Daniel knew, but he did not want to let go. He watched freeze, panic, then struggled, before stopping.

“Mr. Shaw, Mr. Shaw,” she called, growing frustrated every second he did not seem to wake, Daniel!” she called.

“Was it so hard to call my name?” he asked and let go.

Anya escaped the moment his arm loosened, dashing into the bathroom and returning a minute later to get her clothes. He glanced at the time on his phone and back at her hurried state. She would be late if they did not leave in twenty minutes. He got up and adjusted his clothes, knotted his tie and wore his shoes.

It was not as though he could not wake up early and wake her too, because he was hoping she would wake up

late. She hurried out of the bathroom ten minutes later completely dressed. She ran around the room for a while, his eyes following her every move. She was dressed in a black pants suit again. He noticed that she had packed a small suitcase and nothing more before. stepping out.

Daniel stood by the door and waited for her. Anya tied her hair up and they left her apartment; from the time she left the bed to when they left the house, barely a word was spoken between

them.
