Love’ss 180
Grace’s and Athena’s heart shattered.
At last, they understood how Caleb had managed to put on that repulsive display of selling his own daughter. It was clear now–he had no affection for Madelyn at all, as she wasn’t his biological daughter.
It was no wonder that the Garcias hadn’t given Madelyn any wedding gifts all those years ago. The Millers had always been confused as to why the Garcias felt no guilt over losing Madelyn for ten years.
“My poor Maddie.”
Athena pulled Madelyn closer with even more compassion.
Grace felt a pang of guilt, too. When Amelia tearfully came to them all those years ago, they had always believed Madelyn was her daughter. After all, they had seen her lose Madelyn.
They hadn’t realized how things could go so wrong in just those few minutes. They felt that they should have done a proper test to avoid all those years of torment for Madelyn.
Seeing Athena’s distress, Madelyn reassured her, “Grandma Athena, I’m fine. Please, don’t be upset.”
“How could I not? I raised you with all my heart. Elena is so cunning. She even made me misunderstand
you.
“It turns out they knew you weren’t their own and did it purposefully.”
The more Athena thought about it, the more her heart ached for Madelyn.

She wondered about the kind of life Madelyn had when she lived with the Garcias all those years. caused the Miller family, who had always loved her, to misunderstand her.
How helpless had she been then?
As Grace and Athena reminisced, they realized they hadn’t cared about Madelyn’s situation with the Garcias since their misunderstanding.
She had hardly ever returned to the Garcia residence during those years, and they hadn’t shown any
concem.
“Silly child, why didn’t you come to me? You could have told me anything. I…”
Athena stopped herself mid–sentence.
She thought of how Madelyn had explained it to her before. However, she didn’t believe a word at that
time.
Madelyn forced a smile when she heard Athena’s sad sigh.
“Grandma Athena, let’s not dwell on the past, okay?”
After all, the past had not been pleasant for her.
Andrew pulled Madelyn over, and his tone turned serious.
“From now on, when you guys meet the Garcias, you don’t have to put up a friendly facade for Maddie’s
sake.”
“Of course not! Maddie isn’t even part of the Garcias Why should they take advantage of her?” Athena exclaimed fiercely.
As she thought of the suffering Madelyn had endured over the years, her heart ached even more.

Grace, who usually kept her emotions in check, now had a chilling determination in her eyes.
After dinner, Andrew wanted to take Madelyn back to Serenity Villa, but Athena and Grace insisted they stay at the Miller residence. However, Andrew refused.
In the end, Athena and Grace showered Madelyn with gifts before allowing them to leave.
In the car, Madelyn lay in Andrew’s arms.
“Why did you tell Grandma Athena and Mom? They must be so upset.”
“The Garcias are cunning. I told them to prevent the Garcias from taking advantage of you in the future,” Andrew said seriously.
Madelyn thought he had a point.
Amelia and Elena were both top–notch schemers. Athena and Grace wouldn’t stand a chance against
them. What if Amelia and Grace promised them some benefits because of Madelynhance against
But now, neither Madelyn nor Andrew would let the Garcias take advantage of them again.
David was waiting back at Serenity Villa
“Mr. and Mrs. Miller,” he greeted.
“Is the medicine ready?” Andrew asked as he carried Madelyn inside.
David nodded respectfully.
“Yes. It’s already warmed
up.”
Andrew had texted David from the Miller residence earlier to have the kitchen heat up Madelyn’s medicine.
Madelyn remembered there was a large bag of medicine in her car.
She told Andrew, “Dr. Barton said the medicine also has some auxiliary effect on the blood clot in my skull. It can be taken with the current prescription.” Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
“I’ll ask Dr. Kent first. Did you bring the prescription back with you?” Andrew asked.
Although Madelyn mentioned it, he remained cautious. He wasn’t anxious about having a child. He only cared about her safety.
