Chapter 512
Chapter 512
The mall wasn’t far from Larson Group, and Queena parked her car directly in front of the entrance, swaggering in boldly. It was during work hours, and the employees inside were all taken back when they saw her.
Undeterred, Queena strode to the reception desk, propping her hands on the counter with her sparkling gold rings prominently displayed on her fingers.
“I’m Queena, and I’m looking for your CEO,” she deliberately said in a coquettish tone.
The receptionist first stared at the glittering gold rings for a while before turning to look at Queena’s face. She couldn’t understand how Queena, who looked quite demure, had this kind of style in her speech and actions.
“Just a moment, let me make a call,” the receptionist said.
Queena was in no hurry. During the wait, she almost felt like holding her hands with the rings held high above her head.
Meanwhile, in the top–floor office, Hallet was contentedly looking at the expenditure records. He was pleased that Queena had followed his advice to use the card for spending, even buying gold. Although not a significant amount, taking the first step towards making a purchase was enough.
Just then, the receptionist’s call came in. “Mr. Gordon, there’s a lady named Queena looking for you.”
‘Queenie was at the company?‘ Hallet’s heart leapt with joy upon hearing this. He quickly instructed over the phone, “Have her come up right away.”
After hanging up, Hallet specifically went to the break room to tidy up his clothes and quickly fix his hair.
When he came out, Queena was pushing the door open. She intentionally brought her hands together in front of her chest, a sly smile playing on her lips. “How do I look? Did I buy something nice?”
Looking at the ten slender fingers adorned with rings, Hallet guessed Queena’s intention. He shook his head helplessly, walked over, and hugged her, his face filled with indulgence. “You are so adorable.”
Queena had intended to see Hallet get angry, but unexpectedly, he remained calm. Queena intentionally chose those rings. She could have bought a diamond ring, sparkling and beautiful. However, she opted for thick and heavy gold rings to stand
out.
She couldn’t read any anger on his face, and she felt a little disheartened. Tipping her head, she blinked at the man in front of her. “Aren’t you upset?”
In response, Hallet gently patted Queena on the head. “Why would I be upset? As long as you’re happy, you can stack rings and bracelets on your wrists and fingers to your heart’s content.”
With that statement, Queena was at a loss. She sat down on the couch, looking crestfallen. Hallet followed her, removing his hand from his pocket, then asked in a drawn–out fone, “Are all these rings you bought indicating something to me?”
“What?” Queena turned her head, puzzled. The next moment, Hallet, who had been standing, suddenly knelt before her, pulling out a red box from his pocket. Opening it solemnly, he revealed a diamond ring.
“Queena, I know it hasn’t been long since we made things official, but I can’t wait any longer. I think of having you by my side forever every day. I want to marry you. Will you marry me? Hallet spoke with a seriousness he had never shown before.
He had prepared the ring for a long time but had refrained from bringing it out because he was concerned about Queena’s current career. Even though he was eager in his heart, he wanted to give Queena some time. But as he looked at the rings on Queena’s hand, he could wait no longer.
Queena, at that moment, covered her mouth, unable to speak. Her eyes quickly filled with tears, her heart pounding in her

chest.
“When did you prepare this ring?” After a long pause, Queena finally found her voice again, sounding slightly trembling.
n
“Ive been preparing this since we confirmed our relationship. So, how about it? After being Ms. Yearwood for so many years, do you want to become Mrs, Gordon now?” Hallet asked eagerly
“Mrs. Gordon…” Queena repeated this name softly, feeling a flutter in her heart.
She had never thought about marriage before, but after witnessing Cynthia and Isabella’s weddings and seeing their happiness now that they were pregnant, she suddenly felt full of anticipation for marriage.
She believed that Hallet would be responsible and caring like Liam after marriage. The more she thought about it, the more Queena looked forward to marriage.
However, the period of contemplation for Queena was a significant test for Hallet, who dared not show any impatience. The excitement he felt just moments ago gradually sank as he didn’t doubt Queena’s feelings for him; he assumed her hesitation might be due to her desire to focus on her career and not marry so soon.
“If you’re unsure, I can wait a little longer,” Hallet eventually compromised in a soft voice. Little did he know, Queena swiftly took the ring in her hand.
“Who said I wasn’t sure?” After saying these words, Queena quickly removed the gold ring on her ring finger, swiftly replaced it with the diamond ring. It was only then she realized she might have reacted a bit too hastily, as a fleeting blush rushed onto her face.
Queena bashfully lowered her head to look at the diamond ring on her hand, feeling really happy inside.
Hallet’s emotions were on a rollercoaster a brief moment of disappointment was followed by overwhelming joy. He directly embraced Queena’s delicate waist in front of him, his breath quick, as he said, “Baby, once you say yes, there’s no turning back.”
“It’s you who shouldn’t turn back. I’m telling you, taking care of me is quite expensive,” Queena leaned closer, her body close to Hallet’s, their foreheads almost touching.
Her actions softened Hallet’s heart, and he tried to calm down his excitement as he softly reassured her, “Don’t worry, I have enough money to take care of you.”
Hallet, now completely distracted from work, held Queena in his arms and snapped a photo of them together on his phone.
Just as he was about to post the picture, a push notification caught his eye. It read, [Rising actress Queena’s debut lead film breaks one billion at the box office.]
Unable to resist, Hallet tapped on the notification, revealing an article detailing Queena and her movie. As he scrolled through, the screen was inundated with information about Queena, making him hesitant.
He didn’t want to hinder Queena’s career progress but couldn’t suppress his own excitement, so he left the decision to Queena.
Handing her the phone, Hallet said, “Take a look at this first.”
Queena, puzzled, took the phone, and the news displayed made her sit up straight instantly. It seemed she was becoming famous.
Quickly grabbing her own phone, Queena saw many missed calls and messages from agents. Most of them urged her to return quickly since the movie she starred in had received an excellent response, and her character portrayal was a success. Numerous scripts were now being offered to her.
Looking at the messages, Queena felt like she was living in a dream. To become popular on the first try as a leading actress

was something many actresses dreamed of.
Queena’s greatest joy wasn’t just about her newfound success, but the fact that she had proven herself and now had the ability to choose scripts for herself.
