CHAPTER 1508 MOMMY IS MY MOMMY
After getting into the car, Gregory pulled Gordon over and whispered something in his ear.
Seeing that, Tessa couldn't help feeling even more curious. "What are you brothers whispering to each other about?"
"Nothing," Gregory replied, winking at Gordon.
Gordon played along. Nodding in agreement, he spoke in his toddler's voice. "Mommy, I didn't say anything."
As everybody knew, their clumsy denial was no different from revealing their lies outright.
She burst into laughter but did not pursue the matter any further. That was because she had already guessed the contents of their conversation from the furtive but probing looks that Gregory kept giving her. Gregory was probably worried that she would go out to meet his fictitious biological mother, so he was asking Gordon to tag along with her.
Thinking about her son's concerns, she couldn't help feeling warm and tingly inside.
That evening, the entire family gathered in the living room after enjoying a harmonious dinner together.
Thinking that the timing was right, Tessa dismissed the servants around them and turned to look at Gregory with a gentle gaze.
"Greg, there's something I need to tell you."
Gregory was an intelligent child, so he immediately guessed what she wanted to tell him.
"I don't want to listen. Don't tell me about that woman, Mommy! She's a bad woman!" He covered his ears and refused to participate in the conversation.
Seeing that, she quickly stepped forward and crouched down in front of him. Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.
"Greg, you're mistaken. There is no such woman," she comforted him gently.
He glanced at her suspiciously. "Really?"
"It's true. When have I ever lied to you?" Tessa nodded vigorously.
Only then did he believe her words and remove his hands from his ears. "Then, what did you want to tell me?"
"I wanted to tell you that I'm actually your biological mother." After revealing the truth, Tessa looked at Gregory nervously.
Dumbfounded by the revelation, Gregory blankly repeated her words in disbelief. "You're my biological mother?"
She nodded again and continued staring at him anxiously.
Seeming to blank out in shock for a moment, he then joyously threw himself into her arms without
warning. "That's great! Mommy is my mommy!"
His words filled her with a debilitating sense of relief. She happily hugged him back, thinking that her mother-in-law was right—she had been over-complicating things after all.
Beside them, Nicholas watched the interaction between mother and son in delight. After a while, he stood up and walked over to separate them. "That's enough. Stand up and sit down properly. Don't put too much pressure on your mother. Don't forget that your little sister is in her belly."
Following Nicholas' reminder, Gregory immediately looked at Tessa in concern. "Mommy, are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Don't listen to your father's nonsense." Tessa comforted her son and turned to the side to glare coquettishly at Nicholas.
Among them, only Gordon was very confused by the conversation.
"Mommy, Greg, what are you talking about? You're his mommy, so why is he saying that you are his mommy?" He certainly had the right attitude about asking for an explanation when he did not understand something. Hence, he glanced at Tessa questioningly.
Tessa burst into laughter. "It's okay if you don't understand. You only need to remember that Greg is your biological elder brother."
He nodded.
At this moment, Gregory suddenly recalled what his great-grandfather had once told him in the past.
His originally happy expression instantly crumpled. He naturally believed that his mother was not a money-grubbing woman, but it was true that his mother had abandoned him at the beginning. Therefore, the incident had always been a thorn in his heart.
Seeing the change in his expression, Tessa asked in concern, "Greg, is there a problem?"
He glanced at her hesitantly. Pursing his lips slightly, he eventually could not resist voicing the doubts in his heart. "Mommy, Great-Grandpa once told me that you abandoned me because of money. Is that true?"
Tessa was taken aback by his question, but she had always known that he was secretly bothered by what happened in the past.
"What your great-grandfather told you is not the complete truth. Some stuff happened back then. By coincidence, I happened to be involved in a traffic accident when I gave birth to you. By the time I regained consciousness, the doctor informed me that you were stillborn. That's why I've always thought that you were no longer alive."
Although she concealed some of the circumstances surrounding the incident back then, she emphatically explained that she had not abandoned him on purpose.
