Chapter 4
Hearing someone had the same opinion as her, Aria smiled brightly. “I have been telling the same thing to her, Luna Jasmine,” she said.
Especially when it was the Luna that suggested it, Lilac wouldn’t reject her offer so easily, right?
“Look, you will be so beautiful when you wear this dress, Lilac. It is in the same color as your name. I chose this specially for you.” Luna Jasmine looked so kind and so warm, just like the motherly figure Lilac had never had in her life.
She thought this kind luna would really become her mother once she got together with Aiden. But how could she still call her Mother when the relationship between her and Aiden had already turned this bad?
She would become Mother to Ruby instead….
Lilac bit her l*p, she hated the name. She hated the woman that had snatched away her happiness, but she hated Aiden even more for giving up on them while blaming her for his unfaithfulness.
“Come here and try this on.”
Seeing how warm Luna Jasmine was and how she had been worried about her, Lilac didn’t have any other choice, but to try the dress and drag herself to the party tonight, where everyone looked so tense.
After all, this welcoming party was for the people, who had been trying to devour their pack by fighting with the werewolves at the border between the werewolves and lycans‘ territories, as they wanted to expand their own authority.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Not to mention, these were also the people who had killed the people they knew from this pack, those poor warriors, who didn’t manage to return to their homeland.
Of course, there was still anger and bitterness woven in this party, though it looked so lively with so much alcohol and food on the tables and good music that echoed through every wall of the pack house.
“You look so gorgeous!” Aria exclaimed after she put some make up on Lilac’s pale face. She was beautiful to begin with, after all, thus Aria didn’t need to do much.
The color of this dress suited Lilac so well, she looked so attractive and gorgeous, except for the sad look in her eyes being the only thing that made her entire appearance look a little bit off.
However, despite what Aria said countless times, Lilac didn’t feel Beautiful. She felt awful.
“Don’t pull a long face like that,” Aria said softly, as she cupped Lilac’s face and pulled her cheeks, so her l*ps would be drawn into a smile on her face. “You have mourned him for a week. Show him what he missed by not being faithful to you” Aria shook her head. “You shouldn’t be the one to feel upset, it should be him. It is Aiden’s loss for not having you as his future luna.”
Rumors started to spread among the people about Ruby and Aiden, and with the way Lilac had been locking herself in her room, people started to put two and two together.
Lilac gave Aria a small smile, as she followed her friend to finally step out of her bedroom.
“Don’t worry, there are so many people right now, we will not run into Aiden and Ruby, Aria said and grabbed Lilac’s hand.
Those names sent another wave of pain crashing Lilac’s heart, as she followed her best friend out into the garden.
The night was so beautiful and lively, though there was still tension here and there, especially when the lycans roamed around this pack, as the others looked wary of them.
This was the first time for Lilac to see a lycan. They really lived up to their name as the strongest shifters in their realm, the men were so tall and bulky, while the women looked so pretty, but strong at the same time, as if one could brawl with a male lycan all by herself.
From what Lilac heard, there were women warriors in the lycan pack, therefore, even though the number of that pack was not so great, the number of their warriors were excellent, since women got involved in the battlefield as well.
“I can’t believe there is someone so tall like that,” Aria said, as a man from the lycan pack walked past them. The two of them were barely able to reach his shoulder.
Lilac glanced at that man, but didn’t say anything
Right now, they were walking in the streets, where they could find a lot of stalls on either side of the path.
“I am tired,” Lilac said. She felt so dizzy to be surrounded by so many people, especially when they greeted her with concern in their eyes. Lilac could feel their urge to ask her what happened between her and Aiden, but thankfully, they were polite enough to hold themselves from asking too much. “I want to sit there. You can go by yourself, I will wait for you there.”
Lilac pointed at a drinks stall. It was almost empty, with only two patrons there. She felt so overwhelmed and didn’t think she could continue walking anymore.
“Oh, okay, Aria–said, a little bit disappointed, but when she looked at Lilac’s face, she knew she couldn’t force her further. “Are you sure you will be okay if I leave you alone?”
any
Lilac forced a smile to reassure her. “Go, or you will miss a lot of good stuff.”
Aria scrunched her nose and then left happily, the smile on Lilac’s face dropped once Aria left, as she headed toward the drinks stall.
“Oh, Lilac!” An old man greeted Lilac when she sat down and made small talk before ordering what she wanted for a drink.
“Do you have something sweet?” Lilac asked with her hoarse voice and the old man immediately gave her a huge glass with red liquid.
Lilac thanked him and fell silent, she didn’t show interest in her surroundings and only a few minutes later, she noticed someone had been staring at her.
