Bye-Bye Jerk, Hello Mr. Right

Chapter 797

"I'm not getting dragged into this drama," Sasha said. "You're smart-figure it out yourself."

Then, she turned to Nina and tugged at her hand. “Come on, busy? He doesn't have time to play with you."

let's go.

Nina, with all the sass in the world, shot back, "If he's too busy to play with me, he can put Keira down! She can play with me instead."

Sasha shrugged, letting go of Nina's hand like she couldn't care less. "Fine, stay if you want. I've got better things to do." She threw a smirk at Cole on her way out. "She's your problem now. Try not to lose her.

And just like that, she sashayed away.

I couldn't believe it. She ditched her own kid like it was no big deal. Then again, this was Sasha-the woman who once kidnapped her own kid. This was light work for her.

Not that I was complaining. With Nina now clinging to Cole, it wasn't like he could just haul me off.

Enter Jace, looking worse for wear. His nose had stopped bleeding, but he was pale as a ghost. "Cole, either leave her here, or put her down." His tone had an edge, rare for him.

Cole snorted. "What? Your nose is barely dry, and now you're playing knight in shining armor?"

"Your blood hasn't dried either," I snapped, even though hanging over his shoulder made it super awkward.

Cole ignored me, eyes locked on Jace. "She's slept with another guy. She's not yours anymore. What's the point? You really wanna lick someone else's plate clean? Sip their dirty bathwater?"

"Put her down. Done running your mouth yet? Jace's patience was wearing thin.

"If you want her so bad, come and get her," Cole sneered, sounding like a whiny little brat.

"Mr. Handsome, I'll hold onto my brother. You save Keira!" Nina chirped, fully team Jace.

Cole glared at her, but Nina just stuck her tongue out.

Jace moved closer, and Cole, the actual menace he was, lifted his leg and swung Nina off him.

What kind of heartless jerk throws a kid?

"Nina!" I yelled, horrified. "Cole, you jerk!"

Thankfully, Jace caught Nina mid-air and set her down gently, calming her with a quiet, " Don't be scared." Then he lunged at Cole, and boom-they were at it again.

The problem? I was still on Cole's shoulder, flopping around like some kind of human piñata. Jace hesitated to go full throttle, clearly afraid of hurting me. Cole? No such hesitation.

It was too much. Between the spinning and bouncing, my stomach turned. "Ugh." And then I puked.

"Ugh, gross!" Cole barked, dropping me like I was on fire.

"Keira!" Nina shrieked as I hit the ground hard, pain shooting through me.

Jace dove to catch me, but he wasn't fast enough. He tripped, falling right in front of me with a nasty skid.

I tried to move to help him, but the pain in my abdomen and pelvis was unbearable. I was frozen, barely able to breathe.

“Rea, are you okay?” Jace asked, struggling to steady himself. That's when I saw it–his hand, scraped and bleeding.

"Mr. Handsome, your hand is hurt! And Keira, you're bleeding too!" Nina's panicked voice made me look down. Blood. My blood.

Before I could freak out, Jace scooped me up, his voice sharp and steady. "Doctor! We need a doctor!" Chapter 798
