Caught Between The twin CEO

Chapter 43

“What did you say? I definitely did not hear well.” Jaxton uttered with obvious confusion in his voice.

Sydney kept quiet for a while. She tried her best to keep calm.

Jaxton alsowas trying his best not to break down right infront of her. He did not want to look weak and on the other hand cause a scene.

He pushed his seat closer to the table and it made noise due to the starches it made with the tiled floor and help her hands.

Second by second and it soon became two minutes standing in silence with her. Jaxton became impatient.

Eventually Jaxton lashed out,”Babe, did I do or say something wrong?”

This time it was louder and it got the attention of the public present at the Goldies restaurant. When Jaxton noticed what he had done he immediately apologized “I’m sorry, go on with your meal” and sat down ashamed.

Sydney already began to feel embarrassed and covered her face with her purse while looking at an entirely different place. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.

“I think we should leave and talk outside.” Sydney suggested. She knew that was not the only outburst Jaxton was supposed to have. She knew the more she uttered the more he would lose control.

It was her freaking fault anyways. She should have thought twice before making such a promise to Paxton, his twin brother.

Weirdly, Jaxton agreed and this time, he did not perform any of his Roman Romance which was helping Sydney get off her seat, holding or hand or waist to walk her out or even open the door for to pave her way out but he rather angrily stormed out of he restaurant and stood close to his black tinted glass car which was packed close to the restaurant.

Sydney on the other hand could do it all by herself and so she grabbed her belongings and left the restaurant. Still, all those pokey nosed people present in the restaurant glued their eyes on them as they walked away.

She hoped for the ground to open up, swallow her and then vomit her back when all her problems were suddenly solved because she could feel all eyes on her. Hungry eyes which wanted answers concerning what could have cause Jaxton’s outburst which did not concern them.

She heard a teenage girl who was seated with a boy whisper and chuckled as well “I think they are about to break up.”

Sydney pretended to have heard and focused on what really mattered at the time.

Soon, Sydney stood right in front of Jaxton, her supposed soon to be ex boyfriend in silence.

Her legs began to shake due to how nervous she was.

“Sydney. You can’t treat me this way. I have always loved you even now and forever.” Jaxton finally broke the weird and silent presence.

“Please Jaxton. I have always felt the same but we just have to…” Sydney replied with a low toned voice.

“But why?” Jaxton questioned further.

“It’s not right. I can not deal with it anymore.”

“What is not right? You mean us? All we had and all he shared isn’t right? Sydney you are treating me like trash.” Jaxton spoke almost tearing up in public.

“It’s not what you think Jax…”

“Okay. We can make things better. Can we do it babe?” Jaxton questioned. His eyes already started shaking.

Sydney stood in silence and confused as well.

“Babe don’t do this to me. Let’s fix this.” Jaxton uttered and hugged Sydney with his hands placed on her waist firmly.

Sydney immediately agreed to stay in relationship and hopefully fix something which had no fault apparently.

“Okay we can fix it.” Sydney responded without even thinking about the promise she already made to Paxton.

They both smiled at themselves.

Soon, the thought that she had to go back to her office duties struck her and she hurriedly picked up her phone which was in her red purse to check the time.

“Fuck!” Sydney exclaimed.

Jaxton became worried and immediately asked her what had happened and that lead her to scream in such a way.

“It’s lunch time over and I need to get back to the office.” She explained and immediately perked Jaxton on his right cheek and crossed the road carelessly because she was in a rush.

“Paxton is definitely going to rant again!” She uttered to herself as she refused into the office building.

Sydney wondered what she had done and how she betrayed Paxton and Jaxton at the same time.

She tried to wrap her head around the thought of what exactly Paxton wanted from her and why he asked her break up with his twin brother.

“Did he feel the same way too.” Sydney questioned herself.

She was fully aware that she felt something for Paxton but could not identify what exactly it was.

Even if he felt the same way. Was she going to just break up with his twin brother and boom! She starts dating his brother?

How was Jaxton going to feel? Like Sydney used him for his money and never loved him? Like some sort of shameless and tootles golddigger.

She couldn’t bring herself to comprehend all of these numerous horrible thoughts.

She was soon interrupted by the secretary who had just left her office in search of her.

“Oh you are here. MR Paxton is waiting for you in your office.” She uttered.

“In my office? Why? If he saw I was not on seat he should have just politely left.” She responded and hurriedly rushed to her office.

“Wait. I have something to give you. It’s your weekly assignment.” The secretary uttered she caused Sydney to wait for a while before she went back to her office.

She soon walked further to her desk to grab Sydney’s weekly assignment which was padded in a black file and handed it over to her. Before then? Sydney began sweating inside a full blown air conditioned hallway.

“Thank you.” She uttered and immediately head towards her office.
