Chapter 1271
With that thought in mind, Orion spoke up. "Dad, maybe we shouldn't go on the trip. You could use the time to rest instead. I'd rather you get some extra sleep." Nash smiled even more, ruffling his son's hair. "Don't worry, buddy. I've got plenty of time to rest, and we can still go on the trip. It's not one or the other."
He turned to both Nina and Orion. "After Quincy and Lydia started their own business, I had HR hire a new assistant to help me out. She started today, and now I can hand off some of my tasks to her. Things will be much easier for me." "That's wonderful," Nina said, relieved.
Nina never complained about Nash's busy work schedule because she knew he was working hard to provide for their family.
However, deep down, like any wife, she wished they could spend more time together as a family. Now, with things feeling more balanced, it finally seemed just right.
"Alright, then after dinner, I'll pack our things, and we'll head out first thing tomorrow morning." Nina then paused, a bit hesitant. "What about Gemma? Should she come with us or stay at home?"
She was still so little, spending most of her time sleeping. Nina worried that the noise and disruptions might disturb her rest. On the other hand, the busy environments might also overwhelm her. Given all that, Nina was leaning toward leaving her at home. Nash agreed. "I'll ask Aunt Zoe to help look after her, along with the nanny and housekeeper. We'll only be gone a few days, and I'm sure everything will be fine."
Nina felt confident in Aunt Zoe's ability to care for Gemma. She adored children and was always incredibly patient.
After dinner, Nina headed upstairs to start packing. Orion was right there, helping out.Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org
He packed his clothes and, of course, grabbed the super hero toy Nash had bought earlier. "Mom, can I bring this with me on the trip?"
"Of course you can," Nina replied, carefully tucking the toy into the suitcase. "As long as it fits in the suitcase, you can bring whatever you want."
They packed happily together, and
before long, their suitcase was full to the brim. To make things easier in the morning, Nina wheeled it down to the living room. There, sh@saw Nash cradling Gemma.
He held her like she was the most precious thing in the world, gently feeding her from a bottle. "Come on, sweetheart, just one more sip."
Gemma wasn't having it, though.
She babbled more interested in playing than eating. Nash set the bottle down and shifted, one hand supporting her head and the other her bottom, swaying gently to soothe her.
This went on for several minutes. Nina considered stepping in to help, but Nash shook his head. "I'm fine. You go get some rest."
"Alright," she agreed, heading to the bedroom to read Orion a few bedtime stories. By the time Nash joined them, the room was already quiet.
That night, just as Nina and Nash were about to enjoy some time alone, Orion came into their room, blanket in hand. "Mom, Dad, can I sleep with you guys tonight?"
Nash couldn't bring himself to say no. He scooted over, making space for Orion to settle in between them.
That night they all slept peacefully The next morning, after breakfast, they dropped Gemma off with Aunt Zoe and hit the road for their trip to the neighboring city.
