Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 2028

"Do you know the consequences of not apologizing?"

"Expulsion?"

In the afternoon, Mark's parents made their way to the school, putting pressure on the principal. The principal wiped the sweat from his forehead, looking at the cold faces of the two, feeling suffocated. "We demand that this student be expelled, effective immediately."

"Mr. Albright, the SATS are just around the corner, and this kid's grades..."

"Good grades don't mean he's not a lowlife. This time he seriously injured my son and even had malicious intentions towards my future daughter-in-law. He's rotten to the core."

Mark didn't dare tell the Albright family the truth, so he fabricated a story, claiming that Abner tried to assault Shirley, and when Mark intervened, Abner attacked him. To the wrongdoers, Abner seemed unforgivable.

The Albright family stood up, their fingers tapping on the marble table. "If you don't expel Abner, you can kiss your job as principal goodbye."

The weight of those words made the principal's sweat pour down. "Alright, alright, I'll issue a school notice immediately."

Just as Abner and James returned to school, they heard the school's PA system announcing that due to his involvement in a fight, the school was taking the matter seriously. He was to read a letter of apology onstage on Monday and would be advised to leave the school.

Abner's steps halted, without saying a word. James turned pale, still harboring a sliver of hope that the Albright family might not pursue the matter, but the announcement had been made.ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

"Abner, listen to me, you go up on Monday and read the letter of apology, then I'll talk to the principal." She spoke quickly, immediately pulling out her phone to call Shirley. But Shirley's phone was off, and she frowned.

"Where's Shirley?" Abner looked

down, "She's on a business trip, won't be back for a while." Shirley was in a bad place, probably didn't want to see anyone. She seemed as if she had lost her soul. Abner, feeling sorry for her, simply lied to give her some peace.

James was frantic, this was the worst timing for a business trip! "I'll go talk to Mark's parents, you start writing the letter of apology."

"Mr. James, it's unnecessary, I owe you an apology." He bowed deeply, then entered his own classroom. Everyone in the school had heard the announcement, and they all looked at Abner differently now. Abner, tall, stood in front of his desk, packing his books. A female classmate ran over, her eyes red. "Abner, stay, we'll beg the teacher for you."

A male classmate began to mock. "Crying for someone like him, do you know what he did? He's trash, a lowlife, I heard his parents..." He couldn't finish his sentence before being silenced by Abner's glare, shivering.

Abner packed his books into his backpack, grabbed his jacket, and left. Some in the class sighed, others were happy. James was not willing to give up, chasing him to the school gate.

"Abner, think it over again. You've come all the way from the countryside, all for the SATs, right? If you can't even take that, your whole life's effort is ruined. It's just an apology, now is not then."

Abner stopped in his tracks, looking

up at the sky. The sky over Greenfield wasn't as blue as in the countryside, but it was the world he had longed for. Yes, he had come all this way from that place, fighting tooth and nail to escape alkthat suffocation.

But Mr. James got something wrong; it wasn't for the SATs, it was to make Shirley happy. He didn't really have any other goals; everything he did was to make Shirley happy. But obviously, he was too weak now to protect Shirley.
