His Destructive, Toxic Love

Chapter 311

"Get out. I'll handle this alone," he said, determination etched in his voice. "If I... if I don't make it back, promise me you'll help my sister run Welton International. When the kid grows up, let him join the company if he's got it in him. If not, just make sure he's okay." Dillon felt a chill run down his spine. This sounded like a farewell. "Mr. Casper, what are you planning? There's got to be another way."

Dillon clung tightly to Casper's arm. Without Casper, how could Caroline and Eliza stand a chance against Zach at Welton International?

"I've figured it out," Casper said, pushing Dillon away with a calm yet desperate resolve. "I might be expendable, but the kid can't lose his mom."

"Mr. Casper, don't do anything reckless," Dillon was near tears. "Let me take care of this. Welton International needs you. I can do it."

"Dillon," Casper said firmly, not wanting to waste any more time. "Remember what I said."

He yanked open the driver's door, slid into the seat, and slammed the door shut with finality. With a stomp on the accelerator, he sped off. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.

Dillon stood there, helpless and frantic.

Meanwhile, Noel, driving on the highway, sensed something was wrong. "Ms. Valerie, the brakes aren't working! No matter how hard I press, the speed keeps going up. Could the braking system be faulty?"

His brow was furrowed, his voice tinged with panic. On the fast-paced highway, even a small error could be catastrophic.

Noel had thought that even with brake issues, the car would eventually slow down if he didn't hit the gas. But the reality was far worse; the car was accelerating.

Eliza, oblivious to the danger, replied, "I... I don't know. Should we call for help?"

If the car wouldn't stop, rescue efforts might be useless.

Feeling the brakes and accelerator underfoot, Noel realized the gravity of the situation. He slammed the brake again-nothing.

"Call for help," Noel said, his face pale with fear, frantically pressing the brake. "The brakes aren't working. Are we... are we going to die here?"

The steering wheel started to slip from his control. The car swerved.

"Keep the wheel steady," Eliza instructed, trying to stay calm. "I'll call for help."

Noel, still young and inexperienced, was losing his composure. "Ms. Valerie, I can't believe this is how it ends. I haven't even gotten married..."

Eliza felt a pang of sadness and

regret. Poor Brock would lose his

mother Would he be bullied at het

school? He was so timid; would he

just cry when picked on?

Eliza pulled out her phone to dial for help, but it wouldn't connect. She tried sending a message but failed. "Noel, give me your phone."

"What's going on?"

Noel, hands shaking and sweaty, handed his phone to Eliza. She tried dialing, but it wouldn't connect either.

Could it be this car had a signal jammer?

This wasn't an accident; it was a trap.

A chill ran down her spine.

"Ms. Valerie, the speed's still

increasing," Noel said, glancing at the speedometer and then the rearview mirror. "There's a car coming up behind us. If it hits, we're done for."
