Chapter 0070
In an instant, both versions of AMC came to life, the family version was the first to move.
"I have pre-programmed this one." Gemini informed and the family AMC stepped forward, stopping only when it was a few feet away from Amara.
It reached out and gently stroked her head, surprising her with how similar the gestured seemed to that of her mother.
"It picks up and gestures that we find most comforting." Gemini explained.
Amara was about to question how it knew what gesture she found comforting when the other AMC spoke.
"You...are...lonely. Do you want me to cheer you up? Shall I go home with you?" It asked in a deep masculine voice.
Surprise flashed through Amara's face, but it was gone the next second.
Bethany chuckled. "Sounds like a lovely idea, doesn't it?"
Before Amara could speak, Tobias had beat her to the punch. "What's so lovely about an artificial human." He sneered. "No matter how well it is crafted, it can never compare to the warmth provided by a real human."
"I beg to differ," Amara countered, not missing a beat. "If we're going to talk about the perks, the AMC would definitely be a good option, because there are no emotions involved, which makes them easy to manage. Unlike said men that would provide said warmth, the AMC will not betray your trust and they definitely won't treat you like you're nothing no matter how hard you try to please them."
Amara's eyes remained locked on Tobias's as she spoke and he couldn't help but feel like she was referring to him.
"So as matter of fact, taking an AMC home is better than having a real man. There's no need for marriage and divorce and no need for feelings and love. Just pure, uncut satisfaction from both end."
Her words had the same effect as a hot knife slicing through butter. They were quick, efficient and straight to the point.
And Tobias had no way of denying them. He was speechless for a few seconds and before deciding to speak up, but before he could even get a word out, Gemini's phone rang.
"Excuse me," She answers the
device and pressed it to her ear. After a few seconds, she sighed. "I understand. Ending the call, she turned back to her audience. "I love the spirit you're both showing, keep it up. However, our meeting would
have to end here today. I have to leave, but feel free to become acquainted with the AMCS as you are going to be working with them in the future. Excuse me."
With a slight bow, Gemini left the place, leaving behind three humans and two Androids.
"Well," Bethany clapped her hands together and looked between Amara and Tobias. "Now that this little meeting has come to an end, I think it's time we leave." Saying this, Bethany reached for Amara's hand, but before her fingers could even grace it, Tobias stepped in front of her.
"Amara, let's talk."
His tone was demanding, making the request sound more like an order.
Amara didn't budge. "Mr. Larsen please don't create a scene," She firmly warned. "We have nothing to talk about."
"There are a lot of things we can still talk about," He argued. "Yesterday for example-"
"Mr. Larsen," Bethany cut in before he could complete his words. She had walked around him and successful taken Amara's hand. "Isn't this too much? Amara isn't in anyway connected to you, so why do you constantly keep trying to force her into a conversation."
Tobias opened his mouth to speak, but Bethany's next word rendered him in a deep state of thought.
"Don't you think you're caring a little too much for a ex husband who couldn't provide his ex wife with happiness while they were still wedded? I advice you stop sticking your nose into her business, Mr. Larsen."This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
With that, Bethany turned around
and gently pulled Amara along and the younger female allowed herself to be dragged away, not for once looking back at Tobias who was still speechless, because she knew what Bethany had said was right.
