Chapter 45: Chow is Drunk
Chapter 45: Chow is Drunk
Celine stared blankly at him for a moment before she blurted out instinctively. "Chow? Why did you..."
Why did he come out of his own room?
But Celine stopped herself midway through the question.
Chow frowned at her. "Why did I do what?"
"N-Nothing, I mean, why did you take so long to answer the door?" Celine asked, quickly hiding her
expression as she slowly walked over to him.
Chow was still in his sleeping robe, which meant that he had just woken up.
Were they not together last night?
Celine lowered her eyelids to hide her suspicion from him.
Chow didn't notice that there was something wrong with her. "Of course it was because I was still
sleeping," he said impatiently. "What the hell are you doing here so early in the morning?"
When she heard his response, Celine felt a surge of anger in her heart, but she couldn't let it show in
front of Chow.
She approached Chow and started talking coquettishly. "Chow, aren't you being a little unfair to me?"
she asked. "It's our three-year anniversary today. Can't you take some time off to be with me?"
Actually, Celine had only just made up the three-year anniversary fib on the spot.
As far as she was concerned, Chow was not the kind of person who would keep track of special days
like anniversaries anyway.
He was a smart person, but he never wasted his time or energy on such trivial matters.
Sure enough, even though Chow's brows were still tightly furrowed, he didn't question her words. He
just replied coldly. "I still have to go to work. I don't have any time for you. If you're bored, just go
shopping and buy yourself a gift or something."
Ethan was the one handling all her credit cards bills anyway.
Celine had expected this outcome, so she wasn't really disappointed about it.
But there was still some reluctance in her eyes. "But it's so boring to go shopping alone. It would be
different if you came along with me," she said in a pitiful voice. "How about if I brought Vivian out
shopping for some clothes instead? It's almost summer now, and she's going to need some pretty
clothes for when she starts college too!"
Vivian could hear everything in her room. When Celine brought up her name, Vivian's teary eyes
widened in shock as she tensed up.
Was she going to have to go out with Celine now?
She had just spent the night with Chow last night. She really didn't think that she could handle going
out with Celine and pretending that last night hadn't happened.
Take Vivian out shopping for clothes? Nôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.
Chow was stunned. He gave Celine's attire a quick once-over.
Celine had quite a good fashion sense. She was Chow Howard's girlfriend after all. Even if she hadn't
come from a good family background, she had always paid extra attention to her clothes and put a lot
of effort into dressing well.
She knew everything there was to know about the proper clothes and etiquette of the upper class. In
fact, she was now dressed in a simple, classy grey dress, with a shiny necklace and earrings to match,
making her look like a true elite.
However, Chow's gaze still fell on her slightly exposed chest.
To be honest, there was nothing vulgar or overly revealing about the way Celine dressed. Chow had
never felt anything when he saw her dress like this before.
However, when he thought that Vivian might be dressed up in the same way as Celine if he agreed,
with her chest exposed for the whole world to see, he felt a surge of anger.
"No way!" he replied with a stone-cold expression on his face. "Vivian still has to study for her
college entrance examination. Don't you dare disturb her. Stop dragging people into your things and
just go by yourself!"
After spitting out his words, Chow went back inside his room.
Vivian, who was still lying on her bed, heaved a sigh of relief.
What a good thing that she could still use the college entrance exam as her excuse not to go!
Celine looked at Chow's retreating back and clenched her fists tightly. Her angry gaze swept towards
Vivian's door again.
Chow reached his door and paused before turning around. "Go back first. I'm going to take a shower,"
he told her.
Just as he was about to close the door, Celine called out to him again. "Wait! Chow, I know you're busy
during the day, but since it's our anniversary, can we still have dinner together? I'll wait for you at your
office."
"Whatever," Chow said, after hesitating for a while.
In the next moment, he slammed the door shut.
Celine couldn't believe that she'd come over so early in the morning for nought. She didn't even
manage to step into Chow's room.
She stood in front of the two closed doors, her body shaking in anger.
The college entrance examination? Since when was Chow so concerned about that b*tch?
Hadn't he always emphasised how much he hated her?
Was he going to pretend to never have said it?
Celine was stunned. Her eyes suddenly dimmed.
Come to think of it, Chow was never one to hide his impatience towards her, but in the past, he would
still occasionally be gentle and patient with her.
