Invincible Heir

Chapter 232 Living Off a Woman

Chapter 232 Living Off a Woman

Edward had only heard of Paris’ death this morning.

He’d gotten in touch with the Maguire family straight away, but the moment they got on the phone, the

Maguires had started screaming insults at him over the phone, then hung up.

It was after he’d sent out eyes that he knew that Paris had made enemies with a young man before

he’d been killed.

And Susan had been staying with this young man all the time.

There wasn’t any proof linking Paris’ death with that young man, but he was the prime suspect.

“I’m a grown woman, Dad, it’s my freedom to be with whoever I want!”

Susan raged. “And Paris’ death had nothing to do with us!”

She’d known that Baron would become a suspect.

But she hadn’t expected that the first person to have suspicions would be Edward.

“Bitch! What are you saying?”

Edward flared up, roaring, “Just wait, I’m going to Kato right now, and you’ll come along with me to

explain things to the Maguires!”

Before Susan could reply, Edward hung up. This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

The Lewis family and the Maguire family were in different cities, but they’d supported each other all

these years. The Lewis family couldn’t have risen to the top of Cona without the aid of the Maguire

family.

Of course, without the Lewis family, the Maguires couldn’t have gotten into the top two powers of Kato

either.

It could be said that the Lewises and the Maguires had a symbiotic relationship. The moment that

relationship fractured, it would affect either family tremendously.

It was because of that that the Lewis family and the Maguire family had thought about marriage to

solidify that relationship.

Someone didn’t want to see that happen, so they’d turned their eyes on Susan.

Of course, Paris had met with an assassination as well.

Hearing the drone of the phone, Susan’s eyes reddened with sorrow.

On the other hand, in the room next door, Baron had just finished calling his wife and daughter, and a

contented smile hung on the corners of his mouth.

“Hmm, nice, quite dashing!”

Baron wore a casual Armani suit. Looking at himself in the mirror, he was satisfied. “I won’t embarrass

Tracy like this, right?”

The Zouch family was only a small one.

Because their neighboring family was a very locally reputable one.

The second generation of the Zouch family was made up of three siblings. The elder brother Peter, the

elder sister Sherry, and the little sister Amber.

As for the third generation, Sherry had two daughters, while Amber only had one daughter, Marry, and

Peter only had one son, Wilkes.

For the extremely traditional-minded Richard, Wilkes was the future of the Zouch family. It was obvious

how happy he’d be with Wilkes’ marriage today.

Wilkes’ wedding was being held at a large ranch in town.

Early in the morning, the Zouch family arrived at the ranch, dressed up formally, smiles on their faces.

But the most attractive of all were Tracy and Yuri standing together along with Lara.

No matter the place, beauties caught the eyes.

“What are you looking around for, Tracy?”

Amber asked, knowing full well the answer as she wore a mocking expression.

Before Tracy could answer, Yuri sneered first, “Aren’t you looking around too, dear Aunt? Who are you

waiting for? Your husband?”

Yuri knew full well what kind of person Amber was. Now that guests were all around, Amber clearly

wanted to badmouth Baron again.

Amber didn’t get angry, chuckling, “You’re getting on in years, Yuri, why don’t you get a boyfriend? Or

you could just look around here, see which strapping young lad you like, and I can arrange a marriage

for you?”

That sentence attracted countless gazes.

Yuri was beautiful to begin with. Forget the town, there were plenty of men who wanted her hand in all

of Nona.

But Amber had deliberately said that Yuri was getting on in years and that she would arrange a

marriage for her, like nobody wanted her in the first place.

Even some old lechers started looking differently at Yuri.

Annoyance flashed through Yuri’s face, but there were guests all around, so she couldn’t throw a

tantrum.

“I heard, Aunt Amber, that you separated from my uncle? He’s not cheating on you out there, is he? I

hear that if a man separates from a woman, he’s probably cheating on her.”

Yuri didn’t let up with her words, and everyone on the scene was struck dumb.

Yesterday at the Zouch Courtyard, Amber’s husband Ryan had only stayed for a while, taken a phone

call, and left.

Yuri had been right beside him and heard the voice of a woman. She hadn’t heard what they’d said, but

the woman had called Ryan “darling”.

So Yuri wasn’t spouting nonsense but speaking fact.

Amber froze in place.

She did know that Ryan had a woman outside.

The couple had been going through the divorce procedure for a year, Amber just wasn’t willing to agree

to it.

They’d dragged it on up to now, and Ryan had gotten bold. Not coming back at night, even talking with

his mistress to Amber’s face when he was home.

“Bullshit!”

Amber swore, flushing. “No wonder you haven’t bagged any lovers up till now. A woman who doesn’t

know her place like you – what man would want you?

“Is this how you raised your daughter, Sherry? Have you heard her?

“Dad, you need to stand up for me. Look at how your granddaughter’s talking to her aunt!”

Amber flew into a rage and started hollering.

The surrounding guests treated it like a show and none of them stepped in. This was a family matter,

and outsiders didn’t get a say.

“Shut up!”

Richard bellowed. His good mood had been ruined. “Are you done embarrassing us? Any more yelling,

and you can get out right now!”

Richard still had a lot of authority in the Zouch family. His yell scared Amber into immediate silence.

Yuri looked at her coldly and was about to say something else when Tracy reined her in. “Don’t bother

with her, Yuri!”

At that moment, a young man in a deep-colored suit strode over slowly.

“Which family is this young lad with? He’s so handsome, is he married?”

“He’s a soldier, right? Look at his perfectly straight back, I bet he’d look great in uniform!”

“He’s wearing an Armani, right? I hear just one suit takes tens of thousands.”

Plenty of guests looked at the Armani-clad young man.

“Is that Baron?”

Yuri rubbed her eyes, looking shocked at the figure walking over slowly.

Tracy was dazed too, her expression slow.

“Daddy!”

Lara recognized Baron first, running over happily and flinging herself into his arms.

Baron hadn’t just changed into the Armani suit today, he’d also done his hair.

He looked like a young master from a great family, with a calmly authoritative aura. People who didn’t

know him thought he was a film star from somewhere.

“It really is you, big bro!”

Yuri’s eyes shone as he approached.

“Didn’t think you’d look this cool!”

Tracy beamed, taking up Baron’s arm.

“What good are pretty clothes? Just some son-in-law living off a woman, a piece of useless trash!”

An unbefitting voice rang out.

Amber, who’d just been arguing with Yuri, chuckled coldly.
