Chapter 4 Thirteen Needles of Hell
Chapter 4 Thirteen Needles of Hell
Atlas warned kindly, but Viviana simply wouldn't listen.
"I told you to keep your mouth shut when I'm treating patients!" Viviana glared at Atlas with repulsion.
Ronald gave Atlas a look and turned his head to Viviana, "Are you sure about this?"
"I just put him to sleep. Every doctor who knows how to do acupuncture can do that."
"I'm absolutely sure. Mr. Kimmerly, don't worry!" Viviana swore.
"Okay, then do it!"
Atlas stopped trying to persuade her. Anyway, she couldn't get him killed.
Viviana put three needles into the young man's head in quick succession. The young man struggled for
a moment and then suddenly stopped.
"Okay!" Viviana smile a little smugly.
Ronald sighed with relief and said, "You're young, but your medical skills are brilliant. I admire you!"
"Mr. Kimmerly, you're welcome. I'll examine him now!"
Viviana stepped forward and reached out to check the pulse in the young man's neck.
Something changed!
The young man, who had been sleeping, sprang up and bit Viviana's hand.
Ouch!
Laura cried out in shock.
Viviana froze straight away. "It’s impossible. How can such a simple acupuncture technique fail to
work!"
In a moment of crisis, Atlas took a giant leap forward and came straight to Viviana's side.
Slap!
A crisp slap sounded. The young man was slapped by Atlas and fell back on the pillows.
Atlas pulled Viviana, who was still dazed, aside with one hand.
"What are you doing!" Laura exclaimed, "How could you hit my son!"
Ronald didn't scold Atlas but his face was grim and there was a flash of murderous intent in his eyes.
Atlas let go of Viviana and ignored Laura, who was furious, but looked at Ronald with a dull expression.
"If you don't want your son to die, shut up!"
Laura did not dare to say anything and just glared at Atlas.
"My son is not for anyone to beat up. You need to give me an explanation!" Ronald's voice sounded
menacing.
Atlas snatched a silver needle from Viviana's hand and walked towards the young man.
Without waiting for the crowd to react, he put a needle into the youth’s philtrum acupoint.
That was the explanation Atlas gave him.
The silver needle was inserted from the bottom upwards, which seemed extremely quick, but was
exceptionally exhausting.
"Thirteen Needles of Hell specializes in curing seizures called by evil spirits, and is best at dealing with
this kind of Foul Energy."
"A needle on the philtrum acupoint, where the needle was inserted from the left and through out to the
right."
This was the basic description about Thirteen Needles of Hell.
The youth suddenly stopped struggling, and then, came to his senses.
"Where am I?"
"Ruben, you're awake!" Laura exclaimed.
Ronald, also with an excited look on his face, leaned over and asked, "Ruben, how are you feeling?"
"Dad, what's happening to me?" Ruben looked around with a puzzled look on his face.
At that moment, an old man and a young man walked into the ward.
"Mr. Kimmerly, sorry to be late!" The old man in the white coat had an apologetic look on his face.
Ronald was overjoyed and walked over to grab the old man's hands, "Dean Coleman, you're finally
here!"
This was the director of Harmony Grove Hospital, Augustin Coleman, a man of integrity. In his previous
life, Atlas had received favors from him when he was ill and hospitalized.
Augustin pointed to the young man beside him, who looked a little haughty, and said, "There's a reason
I'm late. Look who I've invited here."
Ronald wondered, "And this is?"
"The grandson of the Miracle Doctor Yameen, from the capital!" Augustin's voice was excited.
"I see! So this must be Doctor Samir Yameen. Sorry I didn't recognize you!" Ronald bowed.
The Miracle Doctor Yameen was very famous in the continent. Even a big shot like Ronald venerated
him.
After all, everyone could get sick, and at critical moments, it was up to the doctor to save lives.
"No worries, Mr. Kimmerly. I was invited by Dean Coleman to come and take a look at your son."
Samir spoke modestly, but the arrogance on his face was obvious to anyone.
"Dr. Yameen, come and take a look. He just put a needle into my son and he is awake."
Ronald said and hastily stepped back to make way for Samir.
Samir laughed playfully, "A needle? Acupuncture?"
His smile was contemptuous. Clearly, he was looking down on the needle Atlas had put.
Ronald, not knowing what he meant, replied truthfully, "Exactly!"
Augustin laughed, "Mr. Kimmerly, do you know what Dr. Samir Yameen is also known as?"
"I would like to hear about it!" Ronald said as he bowed.
"The Magic Needler!" Augustin said.
Ronald exclaimed, "I see. So Dr. Yameen's best skill is acupuncture."
Samir was complacent with himself and looked at Ruben. Upon seeing the silver needles on his
philtrum acupoint, he suddenly paled.
"Quack! What disease has he got? How dare you put a needle into his philtrum!" Samir glared at Atlas
and shouted angrily.
Ronald looked worried, "What happens when you put a needle into the philtrum?"
"Symptoms can range from madness to death!" Samir's voice was stern.
"Ah! What would happen to my son?" Ronald almost had a heart attack.
"It’s okay. Since your son is fine, it proves that this needle was not a big deal."
Ronald was relieved.
Samir looked coldly at Atlas and barked, "I'm asking you, brat, what's wrong with him that you put a
needle at his philtrum acupoint!"
Atlas gave him an indifferent glance, and said "Why should I explain to you?"
Samir sneered, "I don't think you even know why you did that."
Atlas turned his face away and simply ignored him.
Samir's face turned livid with anger. He had followed his grandfather all over the land of Zuthana, and
he was the prestigious Dr. Samir Yameen, and no one had ever dared to belittle him.
But in the little Lanceham, he was ignored by a nobody!
When he saw that the two men were at loggerheads, Augustin hastened to mediate, "Sir, the patient is
our focus hear. I hope you could tell us the truth!"
Augustin had been kind to Atlas in his previous life, so Atlas didn't want to make him embarrassed.
"He doesn't have a disease but is infested with Foul Energy. If we exorcise the Foul Energy from his
body and find the root cause and solve it, he will be fine!"
"Foul Energy?" Ronald was a bit skeptical. What Atlas said was a bit mysterious!
"Humph! Kid, you couldn't identify the cause of the disease, and you're trying to fool us with this kind of
talk about ghosts and spirits. You are the scum of the medical circle! Fortunately, I am here today. I
would expose you for what you are!"
Samir pointed at Atlas and growled with mockery written over his face.
Even Augustin showed a bitter smile. After decades of practicing medicine, he had never heard of Foul
Energy.
Viviana, who had come to her senses next to him, frowned and looked at Atlas with disgust.
"Atlas, stop talking nonsense in front of Dr. Yameen and Dean Coleman!" Viviana advised kindly.
Atlas gave her a look, and his eyes were cold. He had just saved her, and instead of being grateful, she
actually spoke up for a stranger.
No wonder she had betrayed him in his previous life.
"I've already told you the cause of the disease, believe it or not." With that, Atlas put his hands behind
his back and stared up at the ceiling, and simply ignored the crowd.
Ronald feared for his son's safety. Having offended Atlas, he could only pin his hopes on Samir.
Besides, Ronald didn't believe what Atlas said about Foul Energy.
"Dr. Yameen, please take a quick look at my son!"
"Alright, I'll show you what a fraud that guy is!" Samir sneered and walked over to Ruben.
The youth shouted, "Dad, I'm not sick. I don't need him to treat me!"
"Shut up, this is Dr. Samir Yameen from the capital. If it wasn't for Dean Coleman, we wouldn't have
been able to invite him!" Ronald scolded.
"Dr. Yameen, my son doesn't know what he's talking about. Don't be offended, please!"
Samir intended to expose Atlas, so naturally, he would not bother with him.
"Traditional medicine is about looking, listening, asking, and feeling the pulse! I've been studying
medicine with my grandfather for many years, and I've only stopped at 'feeling the pulse'."
With that, Samir reached out and put his hand on Ruben's pulse.
After a moment, Samir smiled triumphantly, "Mr. Kimmerly, your son is not seriously ill. He is a bit
mentally stressed."
"I'll prescribe some medicine. He'll go home and meditate for half a month, then he'll recover!"
"Is that all?" Ronald was a little puzzled.
"Does Mr. Kimmerly not trust me?" Samir's face was slightly stiff as he reached out to remove the silver Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
needle Atlas had put into the youth's philtrum acupoint.
"How can a needle be put into the philtrum acupoint so casually? This charlatan could kill your son!"
Atlas suddenly gave an odd smile.
