Chapter 63
Wilbur took a closer look and frowned. “Yvonne? What are you doing here?”
The person kneeling at the door was none other than Wilbur’s ex–wile, Yvonne.
Yvonne looked up. Her neck was stiff from holding the same position for so long. She saw that it was Wilbur and immediately burst into tears. “Wilbur, I screwed up. I’ll bear all the consequences for this. Please spare the Willows! Please!”
“What are you talking about? 1 did nothing to the Willows,” Wilbur said, confused.
Yvonne sobbed, “You didn’t do anything yourself, but Cape’s powerful enough to land the Willows near bankruptcy. I can leave. I’ll disown myself from the Willow family and take whatever punishment you desire to dish out. However, my family worked on Willow Corp for three generations for it to become what it is. I’m begging you. Please have mercy.”
Wilbur frowned and helped Yvonne to her feet. “Let’s talk after you come inside.
Wilbur then pressed the doorbell. Faye answered the door, still in her office clothes
She glanced at the three people at the door and reeled in shock. “Oh my! What’s Yvonne Willow doing here? And who’s this?”
Wilbur sighed to himself. Faye really was putting on a show, as if she did not know that Yvonne was kneeling outside her door!
Yet, Wilbur was not going to make this hard for Faye. He merely suggested moving the conversation inside.
Faye helped Yvonne into the house kindly right away. Everyone sat down in the dining room.
Wilbur pointed at Jose. “This is Master Jose Smithson, from Stricton Province.”
“It’s an honor to meet you!” Faye said respectfully.
However, Jose’s expression was one of embarrassment and shame, lowering his head. “Please don’t say that. Please…”
Wilbur smiled, then turned to look at Yvonne. “What happened?”
Yvonne smiled bitterly, looking at Faye without saying anything.
Faye looked back at Yvonne, a confused expression on her face as she said nothing as well.
Yvonne took a deep breath. “Mister Penn, it’s my fault for doing something so unforgivable to you, and 1 deserve what happened to me. I made this visit because I wanted to talk to Miss Yves. I’m going to quit my position at Willow Corp and leave the company entirely. I’ll have my sister, Chelsea, lead the company instead. I hope you two can take care of Willow Corp to some extent,”
Yvonne knew that the company had taken a nosedive in the past two days and was close to crumbling.
On top of that, a large number of internal shares of the company had mysteriously disappeared when Yvonne was about to lose control of the company at any second.
The company had already been facing pressure from the loans they had taken from the banks, and the internal loss made Yvonne understand that Cape had done this.
Yvonne’s mother’s stupid little stunt was bound to result in Wilbur’s revenge, and Willow Corp was doomed under Cape’s
relentless attack.
Thus, she had no choice but to let go of her pride in exchange for Wilbur’s pity to let Willow Corp survive.
However, what she did not know was that Wilbur knew nothing about what Cape had done to Willow Corp at all.
Wilbur looked at Faye after listening to Yvonne, lls gaze questioning.
Fayedropped the pretense at last, having reached the limit of her patience towards the Willows. “You deserved every bit of it! That’s right! Mister Penn had decided not to get back at you for the humiliation you put him through, but your mother still decided to do something so shameless to him! Do you think Mister Penn and I are a joke?
Yvonne did not dare say a single word in response, only sobbing quietly.
“What happened?” Wilbur asked, confused.
Fave looked at Wilbur. “It was Yvonne’s mother, Miranda, who hired that Shelby girl to frame you. Officer Timothy got to the bottom of it”
Wilbur fell silent for a moment before letting out a deep siglt “W
did you have to do that?”
“Mister Penn, it’s all our fault. Send my mother to jall, and I’ll relinquish all my responsibilities in Willow Corp. Please go easy on the company on Chelsea’s account,” Yvonne begged. NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.
Wilbur fell silent.
Truth be told, he had already guessed that this was related to the willows, and sure enough, Miranda was the one behind it.
