Chapter 1 Who Was That Man Last Night!
“Ms. Rowan, your husband and a woman are in room 2588 at the Follen Hotel.”
Clara Rowan held her breath as she waited for the elevator to rise.
She had just arrived back from a month-long business trip in Munich when she received the strange
text message.
Originally, she had thought it was someone’s prank and had ignored it, but after she got off the plane,
she couldn’t get through to her husband’s phone. His phone was located at the Follen Hotel.
So, she panicked.
In front of room 2588, Clara Rowan was astonished to find that the door was half-closed!
Suddenly, her lower back was pushed from behind, and she stumbled into the dark room. Just as she
managed to catch herself, a hot body leaned over, and pressed her down on the door.
“Husband?” She tentatively called out.
The other party didn’t answer and instead accurately found her lips in the darkness, kissing fiercely and
fervently.

She quickly strung everything together. It must be that after being separated for so long, her husband,
Steve Lane had directed and acted out this scene to tease her.
So, she lowered her guard and hugged the man in her arms, kissing him back sweetly.
When she woke up, the sky was bright outside the floor-to-ceiling windows. Her exposed arms were
covered with kiss marks. Her body still hurt, but her heart was full of sweetness.
She and Steve Lane had been married for a year, but because of work, they have not yet lived together
as a husband and wife.
Last night, they were finally in the same room.
“Husband......”
She turned around, about to blame Steve for surprising her but found no-one beside her with no
warmth in the pillows, indicating that the man had left long ago.
There was a pendant on the bed from T’s Home “Flawless Lover Series.” It was a collector’s item.
Fortunately, this man knew to leave a gift for her.
She smiled, picked up the pendant and put it on. Suddenly, the door of the room was kicked open. A
group of reporters with cameras came in, packing in around the bed.

The flash kept illuminating her half naked body.
“Ms. Rowan, the first thing you did after coming back from a business trip, was to boldly go to a tryst in
the hotel with a lover. Was it because you and Mr. Steve Lane broke up?”
“Excuse me, have you privately divorced?”
“Ms. Rowan, please answer our questions!”
The reporters who suddenly barged in and their malicious interrogation caught Clara off guard and left
her unable to respond.
Her thin body pressed against the bed, and her face was full of panic.
“You, what nonsense are you talking about? I was with my husband last night! “ She lifted the thin
blanket to cover herself tightly and pointed at the door. “Get out of here... “
“Clara Rowan!”
It was at this moment that a cold and angry voice interjected.
Her vision darkened. When she looked up, she saw her husband standing in front of her. His
expression was dark, unlike his usual gentle and elegant self.
“Husband, you’re just in time.” She didn’t even bother to ask why he had left so early, or why he looked
so upset right now. She crawled over and grabbed his arm, “Wasn’t everything what you prepared for
me last night? These reporters are slandering me, saying I was cheating......”
Before she could finish, a heavy slap landed on her cheek.
She fell onto the bed, her brain in a daze.
Steve Lane threw a stack of photos at her face. The sharp edge of the photos cut her face and drew
blood.
“I will see you at nine o’clock tomorrow morning!”
His voice was extremely cold, and he turned around as soon as his words went out of his mouth, as if
he couldn’t stand seeing her for one more second.
Clara Rowan held her numb cheek and looked at a photo that had fallen under her nose. It was a man
coming out of room 2588 and even though it only captured one side of his face, it obviously wasn’t
Steve Lane.
The picture showed the man left around six o’clock this morning!
Clara Rowan grabbed the photo and looked at it carefully, trembling all over.
That man last night was not Steve Lane!
