Love at the Door

Chapter 20

Chapter 20

Melina placed her cup down and said with bright eyes, “You’re right. I don’t match up with him. You do.

“You’re pretty much his housemate already, so why don’t you marry Andrew? Is it because you don’t like him?”

Linda’s gentle expression stiffened. She started huffing angrily. “Why, you…” Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

Melina was actually curious. Wallace once complained about Andrew still being unmarried at his age. If Linda was basically his housemate, why hadn’t she married Andrew?

Linda’s gentle demeanor immediately turned cold. “How dare you speak to me like this. Do you even Andrew can’t stop me if I kick you out right now?

Melina wanted to leave long ago. If she went to the apartment she rented now, she would have enough time to cook lunch.

She nodded and said, “Alright, then. I’m leaving.” Melina returned to her room, grabbed her luggage, and walked out the door.

Linda was dumbfounded. She never thought that Melina would leave immediately after she told her to. She came over today just to give Melina a wake–up call. She was just planning to act all high and mighty to scare off any woman who tried to approach Andrew.

She didn’t mean to kick Melina out. She wasn’t so powerful that she could dole out orders in Andrew’s

name.

Suddenly, Andrew’s cold voice came from the second floor, “Where are you going?”

Melina turned around and saw Andrew who had gotten out of bed. She waved at Andrew.

“You’re finally awake. Since your friend’s here, I’m leaving.”

“Get back here!”

Melina stopped, confused. “What’s the matter? What else do you want?”

Andrew couldn’t think of any excuse to make her stay. He said awkwardly, “I haven’t eaten yet.”

Melina replied, “Dorothy’s coming soon. She’ll cook for you.”

“I’m hungry now.”

After some hesitation, Melina turned back. Although she was leaving, cooking a meal for Andrew wouldn’t hurt. She placed her luggage down and started cooking.

Linda was watching Andrew the entire time. She had been chasing after Andrew for seven years, so she understood him very well. When Melina agreed to stay, she saw a hint of delight in Andrew’s eyes.

Why? Just why?

She was only overseas for two weeks to run an errand. What happened in those two weeks? How could Andrew give Melina special treatment?

Seeing Melina walk into the kitchen, Andrew turned to Linda and asked, “Why are you here?”

On the inside, Linda was going wild with jealousy and fury, but she acted all gentle and weak on the

surface.

“Andrew, I only said that because I was angry. I didn’t mean to kick Ms. Crawford out. I came to see you

because I needed to go to the hospital this evening and wanted you to accompany me.”

After finishing her sentence, Linda looked at Andrew with puppy–dog eyes. In the past, no matter how occupied Andrew was, he would push it all aside and accompany her to the hospital whenever she asked.

But now, all Andrew did was look at the kitchen and say, “You should head back today. I’m busy now, so I’ll accompany you tomorrow.”

“But-” Andrew glared at Linda before she could finish her sentence.

Linda immediately lowered her head and said considerately, “Alright, then I’ll head back for now, Andrew.” After turning around, Linda looked almost hysterical from her jealousy.
