“What if I refuse?” Gwain’s tone grew colder.

“Then I’ll have no choice but to defend them!” Without waiting for a response,

Xarri lashed out, launching a sudden strike toward Hank, who was still pinning

Julian underfoot.

Hank was caught completely off guard!

He was no weaker than Wyatt, who had once held his ground against

Emmanuel. Yet now, he couldn’t even withstand a single strike from Xarri.

When he reflexively tried to deflect the blow, he was sent soaring as if carried

by the wind, the bones in his arm screaming with pain!

Thud! He slammed into the ground, dazed.

“Screw you If it’s a fight you want, then so be it!” Wyatt had always maintained a sense of honor. During the duel between Xarri and Gwain, he refrained from interfering and had never even considered launching any surprise attacks. However, when Xarri made his move against Hank, Wyatt

knew it was time to step in!

“Wyatt Let’s call a truce!” To Wyatt’s surprise, Gwain intervened, his voice cold

and dismissive. “Those two likely have nothing of value to share anymore.

They’re not worth our time. Let them go!” With that, Gwain turned on his heel

and walked away, leaving no room for argument. Wyatt couldn’t believe it,

but he hurried to assist Hank and followed behind Gwain.

“Mr. Gwain, why did you want to retreat?” Wyatt questioned, still grappling

with confusion after the abrupt departure. Gwain kept his face stoic and cold.

“Hank’s injured, and that woman’s skill may be beyond yours. Xarri knew this

and struck where it would weaken us the most!”

Wyatt clenched his jaw, frustration boiling just beneath the surface! He

understood that Gwain’s retreat was a sign of his own doubts about

defeating Xarri. If Gwain had been sure of his victory, he wouldn’t have

backed down. But there was no point in dwelling on the facts–Wyatt had to

keep his thoughts to himself. Hank, perceptive as ever, gave Wyatt a

reassuring pat on the shoulder, suggesting he should bear with it for now.

“How are you both holding up?” Xarri asked, offering a hand to Julian as he

helped him up. Quell assisted Ashton with a similar level of concern.

“Hehe… Could be better.” Julian gave a wry smile, showing no signs of fear. “If

you think you can get the Dragon Tome out of me, you’re out of luck–I

wouldn’t spill a word, and I wouldn’t tell you even if I remembered it….”

Xarri chuckled, appreciating Julian’s straightforward nature!

Quell interjected with a frosty tone. “Don’t worry, our interest isn’t in the

Dragon Tome. We’re friends of Emmanuel!” Hearing that, Julian and Ashton’s

faces brightened with hope. “Is that true?”

“Yes, let’s put the rest aside for now and focus on treating your wounds!” Xarri

suggested with a nod. Similar to Emmanuel, he was adept in both medicine

and martial arts. Given the vast supply of herbs in the Ancient Woods, he was

well–equipped to handle Julian and Ashton’s wounds effectively. They

needed immediate attention to ensure they could leave the forest in one

piece.

Meanwhile, Emmanuel and Sage dashed down the mountain. At the base, NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.

they stumbled upon a pool of blood.

While Emmanuel was busy analyzing the blood to determine how recent it

was, Sage called out not far away, “Commander, there are bloodstains and

battle signs here too!” Rushing over, Emmanuel assessed the situation. With

his extensive battlefield medical knowledge, he could tell that the blood from.

these two locations likely belonged to different individuals, based on the

varying severity of the wounds! Panic set in–he feared he might be too late

and that his sister might have already been in grave danger.

“Go after them! Track the signs and find my sister’s location immediately!”

Emmanuel’s urgency was palpable.

At the base of the Ancient Woods Mountain, traces of recent battles were

scattered about. “Emmanuel, looks like there’s been a clash involving several factions!” Sage observed. Despite his lower martial arts skill, his extensive

combat experience allowed him to quickly analyze the situation. Emmanuel’s

face hardened as he observed the battle signs, acknowledging, “These

opponents are likely at my level or higher!”

Sage, however, didn’t share this concern. He knew Emmanuel was nearly

back to his former glory–the legendary Wolf Warrior who had dominated

battlefields. Few could hope to rival him!

“Let’s go!” Emmanuel instructed, checking the area for any remaining threats before pressing on along the trail. Quickly, they sensed the presence of others ahead! The opponents, clearly skilled, noticed them at the same time, with some even taking cover. Emmanuel was undeterred and kept pushing forward. As the Wolf Warrior, he was fearless.

Swoosh! Just as he was closing in, a sharp sword thrust from the side sliced through the air. Emmanuel reacted with lightning speed, evading the attack and countering with a forceful strike!
