Love At The Wrong Table

Love at the 1998

Chapter 1998

“Quick!”

“Stop him!”

Unprepared for the sudden outburst of fury from Emmanuel after his earlier

display of bravado, Xander sensed the urgency of the moment. The distance

between them mattered little as the threat loomed large.

In an instant, a gunman raised his weapon and fired at Emmanuel.

Declan flinched slightly, weighing his options, but he quickly suppressed the

urge to intervene.

Before any further chaos could unfold, Quintus and the others sprang into

action, swiftly neutralizing the gunmen within the Quill family estate.

Emmanuel deftly navigated through the hail of bullets, emerging unscathed

before Roselynn.

Roselynnl

“Emmanuel!”

Her voice, though weak, carried the sweet relief of life. This simple affirmation

eased the heavy burden pressing on Emmanuel’s heart. With a fierce roar, he

declared, “Everyone must die!”

In the blink of an eye, the thugs who had been holding Roselynn were sent

sprawling into the air, denied even a moment to react.

They fell to the ground, blood spilling from their lips, lifeless before they struck

the earth.

The ruthless individuals who had eagerly awaited Emmanuel’s downfall now

recoiled in terror.

Frightened by his wild state, they felt as if they were mere ants before a

raging bull.

Many glanced toward Gwain, hoping he would take the lead in retaliating.

Yet, Gwain remained unmoved. Even with Roselynn safely rescued, he

doubted Emmanuel could make a clean escape with her.

“Roselynn!” Emmanuel held her tightly, relief flooding his heart as he wrapped

her in his embrace.

“Emmanuel, I… I’m still alive. You must not let any of the Quill family members

go, nor Gwain or that woman named Yuna.”

Roselynn, unlike her mother, harbored a fierce spirit of vengeance; she

refused to let bygones be bygones.

“Okay. I promise you.”

Emmanuel gritted his teeth and nodded in agreement, determination

burning in his eyes.

Xander erupted in laughter, a mocking sound that filled the air. “Emmanuel,

given this situation, how do you plan to spare us? Do you know why you’re still alive? It’s because we haven’t had our fill of fun yet. Hahaha…”

Jenson, anxious to avoid dragging the night on any longer, interjected

urgently, “Commander Gray, get your men to sliminats Emmanust and

gang,*

“Wait, there’s no rush,” Xander called out hastily, sensing the shift in the

atmosphere.

Declan, sporting a half–smirk, turned to Xander and asked, “Mr. Xander, do

you have something else to say?”

“Ha! I do.”

Xander, oblivious to the tension, chuckled, “I have a small request. Please

don’t kill Emmanuel outright. I promised my wife that I would use this

Bone–Crushing Knife to take his life personally,”

As he spoke, he raised the gleaming knife high, pride radiating from him like

the weapon’s sharp glint.

The people of Eldoria, anxious and impatient, could hardly contain their

excitement. Without a leader, despite their numbers, they felt lost when it

came to confronting Emmanuel.

“Fine, I won’t kill Emmanuel,” Declan said slowly, raising his hand in a gesture

of acquiescence.

“Ha! Thank you, Commander Gray-”

Xander beamed with triumph, savoring his moment of perceived victory. Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

But in the blink of an eye, Declan’s expression turned icy. He bellowed, “But I

will kill you. And I’ll take out everyone from the Quill family.”

“What?!”

Xander and the members of the Quill family froze in shock, unable to believe

their ears.

They thought they must have misheard the declaration.

Yet, in the next instant, as Declan waved his hand, a multitude of dark gun

barrels pointed directly at them. Their expressions shifted to blank disbelief

“Commander Gray, are you joking right now?Xander’s grin twisted into a

mask of anxiety. Im still holding this knife. You’ve put me in an awkward

position.”

Declan snorted dismissively, disregarding anyone’s embarrassment as he

strode purposefully toward Emmanuel.

Emmanuel cradled Roselynn in one arm his expression a chilling mask of resolve, radiating an unmistakable aura of danger as he stood poised for his adversary’s approach. The scene before him rendered everyone in the room utterly speechless, their eyes wide with disbelief.

An unsettling wave of foreboding washed over them, thickening the air like a

storm cloud.

“Mr. Owain, this doesn’t bode well. We may need to make a hasty exit,” Yuna,

ever the strategist, warned with a measured tone.

Gwain nodded, his agreement evident. Though the reasons for this sudden

upheaval eluded him, his instinct for self–preservation surged to the

forefront. After all, where there was life, there was always hope.

“Commander, the troops are ready for action. Please give the order!” Declan

addressed Emmanuel, his bow respectful yet tinged with urgency. This

prompted a collective gasp from the crowd, their minds racing to process

the implications of this new allegiance.

The abrupt shift in circumstances left them reeling. They had confidently

assumed the Silver Fox Military was there to challenge Emmanuel, convinced

victory was theirs. They were woefully mistaken, as the Silver Fox Military had

now come under Emmanuel’s command, transforming their perception into

that of proverbial fish in a barrel.

“This… This is impossible!” Deangelo gasped, his eyes wide with disbelief as he

struggled to grasp the reality of the situation.

Xander, equally stunned, let his Bone–Crushing Knife clatter to the ground,

the sound echoing in the charged atmosphere.

“Retreat!” Gwain commanded, his voice steady despite the chaos around

him. He quickly assessed the dire situation, issuing orders to Hank and Wyatt

as they prepared to lead Yuna in a swift escape from the estate.

“Haha! The so–called number one in the world, fleeing with your tail between

your legs? Where’s your dignity now? Just wait until I catch you!” Quintus

taunted, his voice dripping with scorn. Without waiting for Emmanuel’s

command, he charged after them, a fire igniting within him.

The elite members of the Blade Battalion followed suit, including Solana,

Sunny, and Anna, all intent on ensuring that no one slipped through their

grasp:

“Take this!” Quintus shouted, his battle fervor surging as he felt a rush of

excitement. Gwain was one of the two peak figures recognized in the martial

arts world of Chanaea. If he could defeat him, he would rise to prominence

alongside Emmanuel.

Yet, despite his raw strength, Quintus‘ lack of technique proved to be a

significant hindrance. With a single, fluid motion, Gwain executed a technique

known as the Big Dipper, effortlessly redirecting Quintus‘ force back toward

Sunny and the others, who were hot on their heels.

Boom!

The chaos unleashed by Quintus‘ reckless strike created the perfect

opportunity for Gwain to make his escape.

#

“D*mn it, that was careless of me! He truly is formidable!” Quintus exclaimed,

frustration boiling within him as he realized the gravity of his mistake.

Sunny, ever composed, quickly dispatched those who attempted to flee in

the ensuing confusion. These individuals lacked the martial prowess of Gwain

and his companions, and the idea that they could escape at such a moment

was nothing short of fantasy.

“Declan, follow my command!” Emmanuel issued orders without hesitation.

“Secure the area. Anyone who resists or attempts to flee will be dealt with

mercilessly!” His chilling words sent a shiver through the crowd, an

unmistakable warning of the fate that awaited them.

In an instant, the ranks of the Silver Fox Military surged forward like a tidal

wave, crashing into the Quill Residence. The artillery was aimed at every exit,

and overhead, drones buzzed ominously, their sounds echoing like a death

knell for many caught in the fray.

The members of the Quill family stood in a haze of confusion, their minds

struggling to comprehend the rapid and well–coordinated maneuvers of the

Silver Fox Military. They had never witnessed such precision and

sophistication before. Unbeknownst to them, however, most of these troops

were members of the Wolf Warrior Unit, cleverly disguised to exploit their

presence at the Silver Fox Military base. This tactical ruse allowed them to

sidestep regulations while maintaining the crucial element of surprise.

Even if investigations arose later, the Silver Fox Military had the authority to

act. Behind this well–orchestrated maneuver lay the machinations of Teddy

and his faction, who reveled in their cunning strategy.

“We surrender! We give up!” came the panicked cries from the gathered

individuals.

“We have no ties to the Quill family!” one voice pleaded desperately.

“Yes, we were just spectators, and we inadvertently stepped forward!”

another chimed in, fear palpable in their tone.

“I was merely here to observe. I am not a villain!” Yet another voice quavered,

echoing the sentiments that coursed through the crowd.

Every individual present shared this sentiment, their minds racing as they

questioned how they had become entangled with a national–level military

unit. This felt like an outrageous act of bullying that left them utterly

bewildered.

Amidst the chaos, Emmanuel remained unfazed, his icy gaze fixed intently on

the members of the Quill family.

Thud!

The tide had irrevocably turned when Xander knelt first, bowing to the

Kelly, who had once envisioned forcing Emmanuel to kneel before her like a

dog, now found herself bowing in terror, nearly losing control of her senses.

She had never imagined that so many weapons would be aimed at her,

where a single misfire could spell her doom.

“Xander, didn’t you have a request?” Emmanuel’s cold voice finally pierced

through the tense silence, his gaze locking onto the massive Bone–Crushing

Knife lying ominously on the ground.
