Chapter 360 Her Ex-Husband’s Gift (3)
Before leaving North City, Hailey went to Mazedew Museum with her brothers. Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
Although Owen had passed away, the restoration project of antiques was still going on. This was a very important project in Mazedew Jewelry, and for the development of the Mazedew Group, it was essential.
After the news of Owen’s death was released, the most important thing for the public was the follow-up development of the project.
Jason was the person who was in charge of it, so he had to stay in North City for a long time.
When they arrived at the Mazedew Museum, they found many people in the backyard.
At this moment, Jason, who was supposed to do his work, was squatting under the eaves and smoking with a grim face.
Not only he but also the other people were on strike in the yard.
Meanwhile, Donald was driving people in suits out of the museum.
“Who told you to come here? Get out!”
With a big broom in his hand, Donald shouted, “What nonsense are you talking about? And what do o you know? How dare you pretend to be a professor in front of Jason?”
As he spoke, he waved the broom, forcing the group of people in suits to retreat one after another.
“Mr. Sharman, we are all good people. Why are you so rude? We didn’t mean anything else. Mr.
Moore is gone. We are worried about the progress of the project, so we came here to have a look. That’s all.”
“Fuck off!” Donald roared. “My student is dead, but I’m still alive. When he was safe and sound, he didn’t dare to come over and tell me what to do. But you all pretended to be professional. Get out of here right now!”
A board director who was driven away by the broom was not pleased. He said with a straight face, “If you keep doing this, we will not be polite!”
Before Donald could talk back, a cold voice came from behind.
“I would like to see what you are going to do.”
When the board directors of Mazedew Jewelry heard the voice, they turned their heads and saw Hailey, who had a cold face and a group of tall and handsome men behind her.
“Are they stars or models? But they look powerful and rich,” a director murmured.
Hailey’s cold eyes swept across their faces, sending a chill down their spines on such a hot day.
“What’s wrong?” she asked lightly.
Donald threw the broom on the ground, pointed at the men in suits, and snorted, “After Owen is gone, these people came to make trouble every day. They even forced us to hold two meetings this morning and listen to the expert’s opinions. Bullshit! I could have carved a few jade pieces during the stupid meeting.”
Hailey understood what he meant.
In the past, Morgan and Reid had done a lot of stupid things like that,
Those who didn’t know what to do guided other experts with their unprofessional advice. Except for making things worse, they contributed nothing.
“Who let you come here?”
Hailey took the broom from Donald and asked the leader of the men in suits.
The directors looked at each other in dismay, not realizing the seriousness of the matter yet.
They held their heads high and replied, “Of course, Mr. Moore asked us to come.”
“Which one?” Hailey asked in a cold tone. “Wade or Jalen?”
The directors pursed their lips and refused to answer.
Donald snorted, “Whether it’s Wade or Jalen, they have no right to interfere in the business of
Mazedew Museum. This is my home, and only Hailey can manage it. It has nothing to do with you guys. At most, we work together. It’s not your turn to tell me what to do. If Wade and Jalen have a problem, let them come to me.”
The directors looked at each other again and fell into silence.
Jason, on the other hand, stopped smoking and stood up with his hands on his knees. Brook hurriedly walked up to him and helped him up. “Grandpa, please be careful.”
“They are all here.”
Jason’s old eyes swept across the faces of Karl and others, and he said gently. “Let’s go home.”
With a pipe in his mouth, he was helped out by Brook.
Seeing this, the director panicked, “Mr. Jason, where are you going?”
“Don’t you understand me? I’m going home.” Jason replied, puffing out a cloud of smoke. “I won’t serve you anymore.”
Everyone was dumbfounded.
Hailey put the broom in the corner, clapped her hands, and was about to leave, but she was stopped by Donald.
“It’s normal for your grandpa to lose his temper. He has been in a bad mood these days, but this. project needs him. Go back and comfort him. I’ll invite him back after I get things done here.”
Hearing this, Hailey nodded indifferently.
When she was about to leave, Donald stopped her again. “Hey, wait a minute.”
He grabbed Hailey’s wrist and added, “Come in with me. Owen has left something good for you.”
“I don’t want it.” Hailey frowned. She had been sad by Owen in the past few days. She didn’t want to see any gifts anymore.Donald clicked his tongue and pulled her into the room. “It’s really a good thing.”
Then he waved at Karl and the others and added, “Come in and have a look.”
Soon, Hailey was dragged into a room by Donald. Randal and Kyle looked at Karl at the same time. “Let’s go.”
Karl followed them silently.
After entering the room, Donald took out the key and opened a safe box mysteriously. Then he took out a long wooden box carefully and locked the safe box again.
After that, he handed the wooden box to Hailey and said, “Open it.”
“What?” Hailey’s vigilance had far exceeded her curiosity.
Donald handed the wooden box to her and repeated, “Open it and have a look.”
Hailey had no choice but to open the wooden box. It was so long that it should contain something like calligraphy and painting.
Then she found it was a long scroll.
Seeing this, Hailey became more curious and couldn’t help taking it out.
Randal looked at it and asked, “Is it calligraphy and painting? Why is it so thick?”
As he spoke, he helped Hailey unfold the scroll. The moment it was opened, everyone was shocked. It was indeed very long.
The most amazing thing was not its length but its content.
Kyle’s eyes widened in shock. Even an outsider could recognize it at a glance. “Is this Mona Lisa?”
Hailey’s dark eyes narrowed and then lit up.
It was an imitation, but it was quite good.
The person who had made this was even better at faking than her grandfather when he was young.
“Owen, where did you get it?” she wondered.
She could refuse anything else except for such a painting.
