Love’s Final Reveal

Chapter 20

Reflected on the massive floor–to–ceiling window was a delicate figure,

Lola, clad in a sleek black business suit, with her long hair cascading down her back, scrutinized the clocuments in her hand with an air of detachment. She paused pensively from time to time, her gaze drifting in thought. The entire building had gradually become deserted, emanating a sense of coldness.

It was past midnight when Lola finally looked up from the sea of paperwork, silently gazing at the night sky for a long time. yanked her back to the present. Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.

A message from Eric abruptly

She stepped out of her office into the vast, deserted area outside, her lone, distant figure casting a stark shadow under the dim lights.

Lola glanced down at the shadow on the ground and abruptly paused. The deep rooted vigilance in her bones kicked in, prompting her to swiftly attack the presence lurking behind her.

The newcomer was momentarily caught off guard, but swiftly sidestepped Lola’s assault. Yet, Lola didn’t stop. Her movements grew increasingly aggressive. Their shadows cast on the ground minored the intense confrontation between them, one of them relentlessly attacking, seemingly aiming for a lethal strike, and the other skillfully evading each blow.

“I didn’t expect you to know martial arts, Lola

A faint voice echoed in the empty corridor, tinged with a hint of amusement.

The familiar voice caused Lola to hesitate, and in that split second, her arm was captured. She lifted her eyes coldly to the person in front of her, fury blazing in them as if something was struggling to break free, but then she quickly regained her composure.

“What’s this all about, Mr. Sinclair?”

Dominick looked down at the woman before him, pressed his lips, and spoke deeply, “Lola, stop this”

Before Lola could speak, Dominick spoke again.

“Jessi…the Moores had nothing to do with that event two years ago. I can give you anything you want. Do you want money, shares, or my life?”

“Nothing to do with it?”

Lola repeated these words, a tear finally escaping the corner of her eye as she burst out into laughter,

Her laughter, a chilling, almost demonic sound, was steeped in deep grief, tinged with a hint of self– mockery. It echoed in the empty, dim hallway, its eerie resonance sending a wave of disbelief across Dominick’s face. He gradually released Lola’s wrist and retreated a few steps.

Lola glanced up coldly, her eyes a fierce shade of red,

“Dominick Sinclair, remember this,” she vowed, “I’ll make everyone in the Sinclair and Moore families pay for what happened to my child!”

With those words, she shot Dominick an icy look and brushed past him

“Ms. Lewis!”

After taking a few steps, Lola was approached by a group of people in black.

They were initially startled when they saw the man next to Lola, but the looks on their faces changed when they realized that it was Dominick.

“Lolal”

Dominick wanted to pursue her, but was stopped by the people in black. Lola’s cold voice echoed in the corridor.

“Don’t follow me. You are disgusting”

Dominick watched as she straightened her back and walked away from his sight, step by step. Although the seemed tough, he couldn’t shake the feeling she was on the brink of collapse.

Something was off with her. She was not like the Lola he saw at the auction, nor the Lola from that night.

As Lola walked away and disappeared in sight, the group in black left as well, except for two of them who remained standing before Dominick

“Mr. Sinclair, why weren’t you with Ms. Moore at the Carlton Restaurant for dinner today?” A voice tinged with a hint of coldness sneered.

Dominick was initially startled, but he narrowed his eyes and turned his gaze toward the man in black standing before him.

The man, around twenty years old, was clad in black and wearing earphones. He looked like a bodyguard but did not quite resemble those Dominick had seen at the Royal Haven,

His short–cropped hair and vaguely familiar features left Dominick feeling as though he had seen him somewhere before.

“Your Jessie just fell asleep, right? Why are you here now?” The man asked again with a cold sneer.

The familiar words suddenly made Dominick realize something, and he stared coldly at the man.

“Who are you?”

With a cold smile, the man said emphatically, “We are the ones who took Ms. Lewis away two years ago. We made Ms. Lewis call you to pick her up. Do you remember what you said? You said Jessie just fell asleep, and you couldn’t leave,”

The people who took Lola away…

Dominick’s brow furrowed at once, his first concern being Lola’s safety. Then, a memory of Henry’s report flickered in his mind.

Eric and others who were sent to prison two years ago were taken out of jail by someone!

Could Lola have been the one who took Eric and the others from prison?

Dominick stared blankly at the men, unable to react.

“Do you know how Ms. Lewis endured that night?” The man’s eyes filled with tears as he recalled Lola’s disoriented state at that time. “She begged us not to send her away and pleaded with us to borrow our place for a few days…”

“Eric!”

Before the m

man could continue, another quickly stepped in to stop him and dragged Eric toward the elevator.

The two men were Eric and Brian who abducted Lola two years ago.

Driven by greed, they had abducted her and ended up in prison, sent there by Dominick. They had no regrets, but they often thought of the woman, covered in blood, humbly asking them for a place to stay. To their utter surprise, two years later, she freed them from prison just to retum a favor they had once done her.

They couldn’t help but wonder if things would have been different if they hadn’t refused the other party two years ago and abducted Lola again. Perhaps she wouldn’t have been forced to jump off the cliff

But then again, if she hadn’t been forced to jump, she might never have regained her memory.
