Married At First Glance: I Am Not Ugly

Samuel’s Recovery

The next day, Marissa went to the hospital for Samuel’s surgery. She arrived just in time to see her brother being prepared for surgery.

Marissa anxiously waited in the hospital’s waiting area while her brother was in surgery.

She prayed for a successful procedure and tried to keep her mind occupied by reading a book.

The minutes felt like hours as she waited for any updates from the doctors.

After what seemed like an eternity, a nurse finally approached Marissa with an update on her brother’s surgery.

“Miss Marissa, your brother’s surgery went well,” the nurse informed her with a reassuring smile.

“He’s in recovery now, and the doctor will speak with you shortly.”

Tears of relief filled Marissa’s eyes as she thanked the nurse profusely. She couldn’t wait to see her brother and hear from the doctor about his condition.Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

A short while later, Dr. Ramirez came to speak with Marissa. He had a smile on his face as he approached her.

“Good news, Marissa,” he began. “The surgery was a success. We were able to remove the tumor, and your brother is in stable condition now. He’ll need some time to recover, but he should be on the path to healing.”

Marissa felt tears of joy welling up in her eyes. She couldn’t believe the relief she was feeling at that moment.

She thanked Dr. Ramirez with all her heart for his skill and care.

“I want to see him,” Marissa said, her voice filled with gratitude.

Dr. Ramirez nodded and led her to her brother’s room.

When Marissa entered and saw Samuel, weak but alive, she couldn’t hold back her tears. She rushed to his side and held his hand.

“Samuel, you’re going to be okay,” she whispered, tears streaming down her face.

Samuel managed a weak smile, and Marissa knew that they had overcome a significant hurdle.

“You know I’m stronger than I look….” he said, his voice weak.

“I know… just rest okay.” she said, smiling back at her brother.

As Marissa sat by her brother’s bedside, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of gratitude and hope.

Her decision to enter into a fake marriage with Alexander had led to this moment, and she was willing to face whatever challenges lay ahead to ensure her brother’s full recovery.

Over the next few days, Marissa stayed by her brother’s side, helping him through his recovery.

She was relieved to see Samuel gradually regain his strength and spirits.

Meanwhile, she kept in touch with Anderson, Alexander’s lawyer, to keep abreast of the wedding plans.

Anderson assured her that everything was on track, and she felt a growing sense of anticipation mixed with nervousness.

“Why the hell am I feeling this way when it’s just a fake wedding?” she asked herself.

“Get a grip Marissa! This is just a fake wedding and not a real one okay? You don’t like the guy because he is annoying and has a serious attitude problem. You need him just as much as he needs you, so don’t let anything jeopardize that.” she said to herself as she slumbed on her bed.

Just then a thought crossed her mind as she was resting.

What if they fall in love with each other?

“Hell no! That’s never gonna happen!” she muttered to herself as she shook her head.

“Oh the horror! Whoever marries that piece of shit guy is the most unlucky bitch on the whole planet!” she said to herself.

“That guy is a piece of work!”

Just then, she received a call from Alexander and she picked it.

“Why did you call?” she asked.

“Don’t worry, I didn’t call to check on you, alright? I ain’t interested in your kind.” he said on the phone.

“In my kind? What the hell do you mean by that statement, you big brain?” she asked.

“Big brain? You’ve a lot of nerve, Marissa.” he said.

“You started it you piece of shit. What do you mean by my own kind?” she said.

“A low life like you can’t ever be with someone like me. I just need you to fix my problem and when I’m done, I will throw you away like a piece of rag that you are.” he said.

Marissa was pissed.

“You annoying piece of work. Do you know that you don’t deserve a person like me and you know why? Because you’re the one that is worthless and means nothing to nobody. You are just trying to prove that you mean something but the truth is that you don’t mean anything and I mean anything to anyone.” she said.

There was silence on the phone as Alexander didn’t say anything.

He was angry at that statement she made and didn’t know what to say back to her.

So he hung up the call.

“Ah! Got nothing to say you asshole!” she said as she held her phone.

“What a piece of shit! How dare he call me a low life.” she said to herself.

Marissa’s anger continued to simmer long after the call had ended. She paced around her small apartment, unable to shake off the hurtful words Alexander had thrown at her.

“He thinks he can just insult me and get away with it?” Marissa muttered to herself, her frustration mounting.

She decided to distract herself by focusing on her brother’s recovery. Samuel’s surgery had gone well, and he was now in the recovery room.

Marissa couldn’t wait to see him and reassure herself that he was okay.

As she made her way to the hospital, her thoughts kept drifting back to the heated exchange with Alexander.

She couldn’t help but wonder how she had gotten herself into this mess, and if enduring his insults was really worth it to save her brother’s life.

While sitting beside her brother, she was just tapping her feet in annoyance over the words Alexander gave her.

Her brother who noticed asked her.

“Sis…. are you alright?” he asked.

“Yeah, why?” she asked him, holding his hands.
