Chapter 38
Chapter 38
Zane said, “Who does she think she is to refuse to sign the papers?”
Sam replied, “It’s not so much that she isn’t keen to sign. She doesn’t want to pay the hundred
thousand dollars in emotional damages.”
Zane had his way to make the woman put her name on the divorce papers. Still, Granny introduced the
girl to him. The only thing on his mind was to cut ties with the disgusting woman. who betrayed their
marriage as soon as possible. “Fine. She doesn’t need to pay that.”
With Zane budging on the clause, Sam immediately had a new document printed to hand to Lianne.
“Here you go, Ms. Simpson.”
He was a lot nicer this time.
Lianne examined the paperwork closely before picking up the pen to put down her signature. Alright.
What else do you need me to do?”
Sam was in a state of disbelief that she signed the papers. “Do you know what your husband does for a
living?”
Lianne replied, “What does his work have to do with me?”
Sam secretly smirked. She honestly did not know who Zane was. Sam planned to tell Lianne the truth
once the divorce was finalized, so the regret would eat Lianne alive.
He put away the signed paperwork and relished in her misfortune. “Leave the rest to us. The divorce
decree should be finalized in about a month. You’ll need to attend court with Mr. Hill.” Lianne
understood that divorce could take time. “Alright. I’ll wait for your news.”
With Sam gone, Tyler and Sierra drew close to Lianne. “Gummy, the way you dealt with Sam was so
impressive. We nearly cheered when you shut him down.”
Lianne said with a smile, “Don’t forget who I’ve been working for, day in and day out.”
Sierra grinned broadly. “I hear you become the person you’re with. I guess you owe it to Zane.” Tyler
uttered, “Come on. Let’s dine out.”
The trio went to a restaurant in high spirits, not at all put down by the divorce.
With the signed document in hand, Sam rushed to Zane’s residence.
As it was the weekend, Zane stayed at the Rainforest Estate in Mangrove Bay, which was quite a
distance from Lianne’s residence. As a result, Sam was ten minutes past the deadline given by Zane. Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
Still, seeing that Sam completed the task, Zane let the matter slide.
Sam clung to Zane, babbling on about what happened. “Your wife is a stunner, Zane. It’s a pity some
other man got her, but I can tell she’s quite a character, My questioning didn’t faze her.”
Paying him no mind, Zane stared at the signed name on the divorce papers. The handwriting was neat,
unlike his assistant of the same name
He returned the document to Sam. “Get it done as soon as possible”
Sam responded, “I have done my part. You’ll need to wait a month for the court’s decision before the
divorce is finalized. You’ll have to attend court with her for the divorce decree”
“A month?” It never crossed his mind that he would have a failed marriage. Hence, he had no idea
about the divorce procedure.
He could not wait for a second more. Zane wanted the divorce to be finalized now.
Zane even wanted somebody to attend court in his place if possible. It made him sick to his stomach
just to look at the woman.
Sam uttered with a smile, “Take it easy. You’re halfway there.”
