Drawn by her primal survival instincts, Shadow fought desperately and toppled to the ground with the chair.
“By the moon!”
The snarling kidnapper cursed and delivered a harsh kick to Shadow’s stomach. He reached out, gripping her hair tightly, preparing to haul her up.
His kick had been fierce, inflicting such agony upon Shadow that she broke out into a cold sweat.
Her thoughts vanished, leaving only the desperate desire to evade the kidnapper’s repulsive touch.
As he tugged at her hair, the door crashed open from outside.
A deafening sound filled the room.
Shadow’s head throbbed with pain from the man’s brutal hair-pulling. She pursed her lips and turned her gaze towards the door.
When she beheld the familiar figure standing there, an overwhelming surge of fear and relief flooded through her like a tidal wave. Tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.
Despite her tears, her voice remained steady. A smile graced her lips as she addressed the person at the door. “Alpha Dominic, you’ve arrived.”
Upon seeing “Alpha Dominic,” Shadow realized that the strength that had kept her composed and fighting back was the belief that someone would come to save her.
The person who would come to her aid had to be the most formidable individual she knew.
And the most formidable person she knew was “Alpha Dominic.”
Observing the turmoil inside, a menacing aura blanketed Alpha Kilian. His hands clenched into fists, exuding a chilling aura akin to an Asura rising from the depths of hell.
The two kidnappers trembled in fear, their voices quivering. “Who are you?”
When that person had commissioned their kidnapping of Shadow, he had failed to mention that someone would come to rescue her!
“In your next life, you may ask me that question again.” Alpha Kilian advanced towards them step by step. His cold, resonant voice echoed. “Because in this life, you shall not find the chance to discover.”
As soon as he spoke, Alpha Kilian’s strides quickened. He closed in on them swiftly, their eyes unable to fully comprehend his movements before they crashed heavily onto the ground. They curled up, wailing in agony.
Squatting down, Alpha Kilian gently helped Shadow to her feet. With haste, he began untying the ropes that bound her.
His face bore no excess emotion, yet an indescribable darkness emanated from him. He appeared more terrifying than ever.
However, at that moment, Shadow felt a tinge of worry. She realized that no one else had entered the room alongside “Alpha Dominic.”
In other words, “Alpha Dominic” had come alone.
“Alpha Dominic,” she questioned, her voice tinged with concern, “are you alright?”
“I am unscathed. Why did you come alone?” Though she knew not how he had located this place, it was undoubtedly highly risky for him to confront the situation alone.
“One is all it takes.”
Alpha Kilian’s words dropped, his eyes slightly averted, concealing their expression.
He commanded, “Step outside and await my return.”
Seeing his unwavering confidence, Shadow’s worries eased slightly. Yet, as she attempted to stand, she discovered her body was sore and weakened. She could not walk unaided.
Even though she maintained a facade of composure, her body proved more honest than her mind.
Fear gripped her.
Suddenly, Alpha Kilian extended his hand, tearing off his tie. Blindfolding her, he guided her to a chair and placed her in a corner against the wall.
Leaned in close, he whispered into her ear, “It will be over soon.”
Thereafter, sounds of fighting, screams, and the scent of blood reached Shadow’s ears.
Alongside the increasingly pungent aroma of blood, the screams faded away.
Eventually, silence descended upon the room.
Shadow felt her hand enveloped in a strong grip. She heard Alpha Dominic’s voice. “Alright, let us depart.”
Seeking to remove the blindfold, Shadow realized that “Alpha Dominic” grasped her hand tightly.
“Let us go outside and speak. Follow me.”
With her vision shrouded in darkness, Shadow complied and allowed “Alpha Dominic” to lead her away. A sense of tranquility she had never known washed over her.
She found herself somewhat astonished.
Turning her head prior to leaving, Shadow cast a lingering glance filled with fear towards the partially open door. Through it, she caught sight of the two motionless kidnappers lying in a pool of their own blood. One of them stared in her direction, yet he seemed devoid of life.
Had he died with his eyes still open?
This notion struck Shadow with shock. Had “Alpha Dominic” beaten them to death?
Witnessing her peculiar behavior, “Alpha Dominic” pivoted to face her. His thoughts remained a mystery as he bent down, sweeping her up into his arms.
“I can walk on my own.” Shadow reacted instinctively, wrapping her arms around his neck.
“Alpha Dominic” said nothing.
Shadow realized that, from the moment he had arrived and until now, he had scarcely spoken.
“Alpha Dominic” carried Shadow directly to the awaiting car.
Numerous questions swirled in her mind, yet the warmth of the car and “Alpha Dominic” beside her caused her nerves to relax. Exhaustion soon overcame her, and she fell into a deep sleep.
Alpha Kilian drove the car for some distance before his phone interrupted the silence. Frank’s voice, laced with anxiety, pierced the air.
“Young Master, where are you?” Frank’s concern was palpable as he had heard of the young master fleeing in his car, unaware of his current whereabouts.
Alpha Kilian’s voice lowered as he issued an order. “I shall send you the address. Bring men to clean up this mess.”
Frank hesitated for a moment before responding respectfully. “Yes.”
The car’s heater emanated a comforting heat. Feeling the warmth becoming too much, Shadow stirred from her slumber.
“Alpha Dominic” was no longer by her side. Turning her head, she spotted a tall figure melding with the darkness outside the car window. Flames flickered in the distance. This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
Shadow opened the car door, a shiver coursing through her from the cold winter wind.
Prompted by the sound, “Alpha Dominic” glanced back. “Remain in the car. I shall join you once I finish this cigarette.”
