Mr. President’s 73
Chapter 73
The day before, Linda woke up in a strange room with a man sitting beside her. “Where am I?” she asked, confused as she couldn’t recall anything.
The man smiled. “You are in your room. You weren’t feeling well, so I came to check on you.”
Who are you?” she asked. The man smiled.
You don’t remember me? I’m your boyfriend,” he said. Linda frowned imperceptibly. Though she couldn’t remember a thing, she felt no ttraction to the man.
What’s your name?”
Seriously? Randy. Come on, you have to go to work,” he said. Linda was at a loss.
Work? Where?”
You work as a waiter at the hotel. I already took permission for you, so don’t be late.”
Linda felt a pang of a headache coming on as she tried to remember something but everything seemed blurry to her.
‘My head aches,” she complained. Randy frowned and gave her a pill. “Take this. It will make you feel better.”
He didn’t allow her to see it, shoving it into her mouth and giving her water to drink.
After some time, the headache stopped, but she could not see the images anymore. It was as if everything was wiped from her mind, including all that Randy told her.
‘Who are you, and what is your name?” The conversation began again, and Randy smiled, telling her the same lie all over again before driving her to the hotel.
“Your name is Chloe, in case you forgot that too,” he said before she stepped out of the car.
After dropping her off and having the hotel manager take her through everything as discussed in advance, he returned to his car and called Lily. “Everything is done, just as you wanted, but I can’t keep giving her those pills. It might have a long–term effect on her.”
Linda was unfazed about her sister’s health at the end of the line and insisted.
“Well, you have to keep it up until I get Oliver to get me pregnant. Then, Linda would be forgotten even if she remembers and finds him because he won’t want to forsake his child.”
Randy was not liking this new development. “That wasn’t what we discussed, so what are you talking about? You said you were going to divorce him and get half of his wealth.”
Lily never had the intention of keeping to her side of the bargain, as she only wanted Randy’s help, for which reason she had to lie, hoping that Randy would fall in love with Linda, and the two could live happily ever after, just as she planned with Oliver.
“Well, things are complicated. Oliver suspects that I’m not Linda, so I need time.” Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
“Well, I can’t keep this up. If anyone finds out, it can get me into trouble,” Randy said with fear in his voice. Lily sighed from the end of the line, never imagining that things might be hard or turn out this way.
“Alright, please give me a little time, and things would work out between us.”
Randy ran his fingers through his hair. “Three days is all you get because I have to return to work, and I miss you too.”
“I miss you more, babe,” she said in a seductive tone, calming all his demons. When it was time to pick up Linda from work, he was met with shocking news.
“She left, and I don’t know where,” the manager said with fear in his eyes. Randy was confused, not knowing what to tell Lily.
“What do you mean she left? She has nowhere else to go.”
“She went to the ladies‘ room, and that is all the cameras saw of her. I won’t take responsibility because she was a staff who left her job,” the manager said mischievously. Randy was confused.
The drug he gave her was supposed to last for at least fourteen hours, and her shift was just eight ses ob

“Look, I’m going to sue this hotel if you don’t tell me where she is,” Randy threatened. The manager let out a frustrated sigh.
“Trust me, these girls do all kinds of things. Who knows? She must have followed one of those rich men, but I don’t know for sure.”
Randy left, confused and having no idea where Linda went and not knowing how to inform Lily. Speaking on the phone would not be in her best interest, so he decided to go see her in person.
“Linda?” she heard the strange man ask. He was so handsome, and she could feel an instant attraction to him, but she also recalled that she had a boyfriend, Randy.
She looked at the man with a confused expression but did not respond, only wondering why he called her Linda or did he mean somebody else? She turned her head to the left and right, but there was no one else by her.
Oliver’s heart broke at her reaction, and he grabbed her arm. “Linda, it’s me, Oliver.”
Linda was shaking her head, though the attraction between them was very strong. “I’m sorry, sir, I don’t know you.”
Oliver knew without a doubt that this was his woman. He never felt this kind of attraction towards anyone but her.
Seeing her panicked mood, he stared apologetically at her. “Okay. Can you sit? I want to talk to you.”
He remembered what Gwen told him about the drink, feeling it was responsible for Linda not recognizing him, but how the hell did she end up in California, and who brought her?
“I have work,” she politely refused, afraid that her boyfriend, whom she could not remember, would get upset.
Oliver did not insist, as he did not want to make her afraid, but that did not mean he was going to give up either. “Okay.”
As soon as she left, he contacted the hotel manager and gave the name on her ID. “I want Chloe in my room. I will pay any amount.”
Knowing who he was, the hotel manager could not refuse. “I will try my best, but what do I tell her boyfriend?” he asked. Oliver asked him. “What’s the name of her boyfriend? Do you have a picture?”
“Yes, I do,” the hotel manager said and immediately sent a picture. “His name is Randy.”
Having no intention of leaving Linda, he said to the hotel manager. “Find an excuse to tell that guy. Any lie, but I want her, and I will pay handsomely for her.”
He would deal with Randy later, but for now, he needed his woman by his side by hook or by crook.
“Okay,” the manager said and ended the call.
Oliver sent the image to Gwen, and she responded instantly. “That is Randy, Lily’s boyfriend.”
Now, Oliver had a clear understanding of what was going on. It was just as he predicted.
To his amazement, she was brought to his room but was scared looking when she saw the romantic setting as Oliver asked her.
“Doesn’t this look familiar, Linda?”
