That question caused Yesseca's smile to drop.

She was dumbstruck. She was unable to respond to Matthew's question.

Matthew added, "You know Yesseca, Kylin is a pretty good catch."

"That would be impossible Matthew." Yesseca said. "I don't love Kylin. It would never work between us."

She had already made a huge blunder with Kylin before. She wouldn't do it again. She couldn't hurt Kylin again.

Ever since she left Nashaland, she had seen just how kind Kylin had been to her. But regardless of how it is, she had made a huge mistake with him

a long time ago. It was because of that, Yesseca was certain that she could never be with Kylin.

She never responded to any of Kylin's kind advances.

Matthew's eyes trembled slightly.

He had somewhat expected her to respond this way.

Truth was, if Yesseca had admitted that she had feelings for Kylin, he would have wholeheartedly

encouraged it as well. It would still be a good thing for her.

Besides, Kylin would make a perfect husband for her.

Unfortunately, Yesseca didn't have any feelings for Kylin.

"So Yesseca, that means you're still on the look out for a partner. Matthew then asked, "Tell me, do you still have feelings for Tremaine?" Yesseca was shocked to hear him ask that.

She looked flustered. "Matthew, I've already told you! There is no way I am ever going back to Tremaine! Not for the rest of my life! There's no need for you to ask me this ever again!"

Matthew was quiet.

Yesseca had told him this before.

However, lots of time has passed since then. He wanted to see if she had a change of heart.

But, it seems she hadn't.

His trip here seemed to have been for nothing.

After a moment, Matthew said, "I'm sorry Yesseca.

I won't bring it up again."

Yesseca breathed out a heavy sigh.

She then said, "Matthew, please don't ever talk to me about Tremaine again, okay?"

Yesseca pleaded him with her eyes as she said this.

"Okay, Yesseca." Matthew said, "That was my fault. I promise, I won't ever do it again."

After he stepped out of the bakery, Matthew called Sheldon.

He was going to tell Sheldon what had happened.

He explained to Sheldon that there was no way for Tremaine and Yesseca to get back together again. She was extremely adamant on staying away from him and wants to live her own life.

He had hoped that Yesseca would reconsider things after talking to Matthew. Perhaps she would have given her brother-in-law the benefit of the doubt and hear him out.

"You should tell him to move on and look for a different woman." Matthew said.

Sheldon then replied, "Mr. Perry, if I could, I would have done so a long time ago. But he is adamantly fixated on Miss Cowell. Aside from her, he isn't interested in any other women. If he was, I would have happily brought tens of thousands obother women to him by now!"

Matthew listened quietly.

He then said, "Unfortunately

everyone has to pay the price for the mistakes they've made. If Yesseca decides to never forgive him, then that is the price he will have to pay for his mistake."

Sheldon was quiet.

He had no idea what to say.

After Sheldon was done talking to Matthew, a doctor came to him and told him that Tremaine had woken up.

Upon hearing this, Sheldon dashed over to the ward.

As he entered the ward, he saw Tremaine sitting up, awake.

"Mr. Tremaine!" Sheldon called out.

Tremaine looked at Sheldon anxiously. "Is Yesseca coming? Did Yesseca come back to Nashaland?"

Sheldon was quiet.

He looked at Tremaine in surprise and said, "Sir, Yesseca isn't here. She's not coming back."
