Chapter 96
1 The Red Wolf's Hidden Fate (Book 2)
Lily's Seventh Birthday
Rosalyn POV
"Mommy, you made the unicorn cupcakes. They look awesome" Lily says. "I remember how
much you like them. You need to go get ready. It's almost time for your party. Everyone will be here soon." Lily gives me a quick hug before she takes off toward the stairs. I'm putting the finishing touches on the trays when Gia walks into the kitchen. "Luna, I always appreciate your help, but you should be enjoying yourself today, not baking," Gia says.
"I love baking. You know that Gia. Besides, after you and the other girls made all this food, it was the least I could do for my pup's party." "Alright, you helped now shoo. Go get ready and enjoy our little heir's birthday." I pull her in for a hug before I head upstairs to check on how Beck is doing with the twins. Gia isn't just the head omega, she has become a good friend to Addie and me.
When I step into the pups' room, I try not to laugh, but I can't help myself. I turn to face the wall, so the kids can't see I'm losing it, not that they are paying attention to me. "Don't laugh Rosalyn, help me," Beck links me. I get myself under control and turn around as Jameson continues to fight Beck about putting on his pants. I swear these two hate clothes. "Jameson Emmett, you will not get a cupcake at your sister's party if you don't keep your clothes on." Our three-year-olds are definitely a handful. Jameson freezes before his head turns toward me. I turn toward my daughter who has nothing but her princess underwear on. "That goes for you to Abigale Maureen. Get your party clothes on or no cupcakes."
We manage to get them both dressed with relative ease after my threat of no sweet treats. Once they are dressed, I rush to my own room while Beck takes them downstairs to enlist
reinforcements. Marco, Samantha, Carter, and Bridgette arrived an hour ago. I take a five-minute shower and get dressed in record time. I pull my hair into a messy bun and quickly apply lip gloss. As I make my way towards Lily's room, Zora starts to pace. I'm about to ask her why when I
stop in front of Lily's door. I can hear her talking. I can't quite make out what she is saying and,
as far as I know, she is alone. I quietly push the door open enough to peek through the crack. "Are you sure I can't tell Colton? He is my best friend," she says
She is sitting on the floor in her purple party dress, and she is by herself. "Fine, I won't tell him,
but I don't like keeping secrets from him. Can I tell mommy and daddy?" I push open the door and Lily jumps. "Lily bear, who are you talking to?" I gasp when her eyes glaze over. We knew +8 Point:

Lily was special but she is seven. There is no way she has her wolf already.
She smiles when her eyes return to their normal color. "I'm talking to my wolf, mommy." "Zora, is this really possible?" I can feel the panic well up inside me. The pain of a first shift is nothing my beautiful little girl should have to endure at seven years old. "She has gained her
wolf, but she won't shift yet. I promise you, Rose, that when the time comes Ariel will protect her. They are both very special," Zora says.
Lily's beautiful blue eye color is replaced by a deep hazel as her wolf pushes to the surface.
"Hello, mom," says a voice that is very different from Lily's. She sounds more like a teenager, which freaks me out. The voice doesn't match my sweet little seven-year-old girl. I get on my
knees in front of my daughter, taking her hands in mine.
"Ariel" I say and she nods. "You don't have to worry mom. I will always protect Lily. Just like you will always protect us," she says. I brush Lily's long dark hair away from her face. "Can dad come to meet you, Ariel?" "Of course, he is my dad." I link Beck to come to Lily's room alone. "Ariel, I heard Lily ask about Colton. Can you tell me why he can't know about you?" "The mother goddess says that only you and dad can know that my soul has joined Lily so early," she says. I feel like there is more that she isn't telling me, but I don't push. I know she is telling me what she can. The door to the room flies open and Beck searches the room. "Beckham Forester, do you really think if there was a threat to our pup I would have been so calm in our link!""
He has the good sense to look embarrassed. "I was worried when you said to come alone. Is something wrong?" "No, dad, everything is fine. Mom just wanted you to meet me," Ariel says.
Beck falls to his knees looking between Lily and me. Shock and confusion all over his face. "What's happening" he asks, his voice laced with concern.
"Beck, this is Ariel, Lily's wolf.""How is this possible? She is too young to shift" he says, and I chuckle. “I said the exact same thing. Zora has assured me she won't shift until she has to, but Ariel will protect her." He reaches up and touches her face. "Hi dad" she says. "This is incredible. I can't wait to tell Barrett," he starts to say, but I cut him off. "For now, only you and I can know, and before you ask why, because the goddess says so."
Our daughter laughs, the sound a mix of Lily and Ariel's voices. When she blinks again, Lily's eyes are back to their beautiful blue color. My mind is still reeling, but we need to get down to the party before everyone comes looking for us. "It's important you listen to Ariel, Lily. Only we can know you have her." "I promise mommy. I won't tell anyone, even Colton." "That's good Lily bear."
We make our way outside and the pack yard is decorated in pink and purple. The pups are +9 Poin

running about and Lily goes to join them. Marco and Sam are pushing the twins on the huge swing set that sits off to the side of the pack house. They have decided to wait to have pups because they want time with each other.
Beck pulls me into his arms, bringing me out of my thoughts. "I'm still in shock. I know we need to trust the goddess, but I've never heard of anyone getting their wolf so young," Beck says. I can feel his worry through our bond. "We will be with her every step of the way. I know how crazy this is, but I trust the goddess and I trust Ariel. We will talk to her more tonight afte everyone has gone home."
Beck presses a kiss on my lips. "Can you two give it a rest? You are going to end up with more pups if you keep that up," Jayden says. He loves to tease us, especially since he walked in on
us in Beck's office. I was mortified, but Beck just said it would teach him to knock. "For your information it's too late for that." Addie squeals from behind me. She is holding my handsome nephew Max when she comes to stand in front of me. "When did you find out? Why didn't you
tell me first," Addie whines.
"Hey, I get to know first. We found out a few days ago and thankfully there is only one this time. Not that I don't love the twins but five is a bit much especially with the twin terrors" Beck says and I slap his chest. "We are telling everyone today!"
We move to the table that our family has taken over. Mom is next to Charlie, who is holding my sister Judith. Barrett is next to Maureen who is holding Tabitha. Mindy is watching Reese chase Iris and Lillian around the table. Carter is wrapped around a very pregnant Bridgette.
I turn just in time to see Logan and Brent crossing the pack yard with their new pup, Samuel.
His parents were rogues and abandoned him near the pack border. Thankfully, Logan found him during patrol and his wolf immediately claimed him. Seeing the people I love and consider my family here today together is a sight I will never grow tired of. I take my seat next to my mate, ready to celebrate my beautiful daughter.
Four Years Later
Lily POV
"I don't understand why I can't go with you, Colton." "Lily, I'm going with my friends. I can't have you hanging around with us all the time. I'm thirteen now and you're still a kid. Why don't you go play with your little sister? I'm sure she has dolls or something that's more your speed, Colton says.
We used to be best friends, and now he acts like I'm more of a pain than a friend. "Fine, go play with your stupid friends, see if I care."I turn and run toward the trees. I don't stop even when I hear Colton calling out my name. I hate him right now. "You don't hate him. You're just 3/4

mad at him. It's alright to be angry, but you don't hate Colton," Ariel says.
She's right, but I hate that, ever since he turned thirteen, he acts like I'm a baby. I'm not a baby By the time we stop running, we are near the training field. The field is empty, which is odd. I decide to lie down on the grass and stare up at the sky. I close my eyes. "Lily," Colton says, startling me. I sit up as Colton tries to catch his breath. "What do you want Colton?"
"I'm sorry Lily. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. It's just my friends can be jerks and I don't want them to hurt your feelings." I smile and he offers me his hand. "It's fine Colton. Go hang out with your friends. I'm going to find Abigale." He starts back toward the trees and I smile. I make my way back through the trees. I feel like I'm being watched.
"Ariel" I start to say just as a low growl sounds from behind us. The scent of rotting meat has me nearly gagging. "Lily, I need you to trust me." "I trust you Ariel," I say as I turn to face a disgusting rogue. I stumble as a chocolate brown wolf that I know is Liam jumps over me, landing in front of the rogue. "Lily, what's about to happen is going to hurt, but I promise you are strong enough to get through it."
