Chapter107 Casper
Casper
"Sorry, you're?" Adriana asked.
"Can't you recognise my voice?" The man asked.
Even though the man's voice sounded young, it still gave Adriana a heavy feeling.
The voice was both familiar as well as unfamiliar to Adriana. She had heard it before, but a long time
ago. At that time, it was also the man who took the initiative to call her, and he only said: "My brother
needs a woman who can stay quietly with him. You are a suitable choice."
"Mr. Zellweger?" Adriana hesitated to say the name.
"Don't be so courteous. You'll soon become Richard's legitimate wife and also my sister-in-law. Just call
me Casper."
His polite words didn't evoke even the slightest bit of enthusiasm.
The man who called Adriana was Casper Zellweger, Richard's younger brother. Before Richard took
over the Zellweger Group, Casper was the carefully educated heir by Helena. If it wasn't for the car
accident seven years ago, he would be the CEO now.
"Casper," Adriana braced herself to change the appellation.
She then said, "Richard went to visit you earlier, but I heard that you're not in good health, so I didn't
dare to disturb you."
"It's okay. I don't really like to see outsiders. We'll have plenty of chances in the future."
Casper's indifferent words made her greeting seem a bit unnecessary.
There were used to be many rumours about Casper, which were all buried in the past seven years. The
young man who had once been known as a business genius had long become unknown.
The Zellweger family hardly mentioned Casper. Richard would visit him occasionally, but Helena acted
as if she didn't have this son. She would be unhappy every time Richard mentioned him.
Adriana had sent someone to investigate him privately, and the results made her want to avoid Casper
even more.
Depression, aggression, and self-harm. these were all diagnosed by the doctors. He had to change his
caretakers several times a month, and many of them were seriously injured at his place.
Thinking of this, she shivered and said stiffly, "Well, Casper, what can I do for you?"
"Let's meet at 2 pm tomorrow. I have something to talk to you."
"Me... Alone?" Adriana froze for a moment.
"Yes. Don't tell my brother about it."
"It can't be very appropriate, can it?"
No matter what, he was Richard's younger brother. If Adriana met Casper alone behind his back, it
would be terrible if someone saw it and spread rumours.
"It's not quite good for my brother to know about what happened seven years ago either." Casper
sneered.
Hearing this, Adriana's face changed.
Seven years ago?
"I have no idea what you're talking about."
"Well, you do."
"I'll send you the time and place." Casper then said and hung up the call.
"Hello?"
Looking at the call that was hung up, Adriana's expression was extremely complicated.
She didn't do anything. She just heard about it by chance. What Pearl'd experienced had nothing to do
with her.
That was just her fate!
However, Casper seemed to know everything about what'd happened seven years ago, which made
Adriana panicked.
It was already late night.
In the bathroom of the Zellweger Mansion, the sound of water stopped abruptly.
With a clatter, the door was pulled open by a wide palm. The man walked out in a bathrobe.
After a cold shower, all the mad and insane desires were eventually driven away, leaving him only
calmness.
Richard sat by the bed and lit a cigarette. The wound on the back of his hand showed signs of infection
after being soaked in the water.
At this moment, his phone vibrated. It was a call from Ted.
"Boss, the banquet has just ended. I informed Mrs. Louise that you were not feeling well and had to go
home back first." Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
"I see."
"You should rest early, boss."
"Ted," Richard said as his cold eyes were filled with a layer of frost.
"What can I do for you, sir?" said Ted.
"Find out when they got married and how their life were in abroad."
"Okay."
Ted no longer needed to ask who he was supposed to investigate. Since Pearl had appeared, the
boss's abnormal behaviour revolved around her.
Who could have expected that that Ethan's wife was Pearl?
Hanging up the phone, Richard found his fingers were almost burned while he was in a daze.
He then put out the cigarette in the ashtray.
Outside the French windows, the full moon hung high in the sky. The loneliness of the late
night covered the hustle and bustle of the entire Kityall City.
Ethan put a glass of hot milk on the bedside table and patted Pearl's arm, saying, "Get up and have the
milk before sleep."
Pearl opened her eyes, looking sleepy and impatient. Seeing it was Ethan, she immediately closed her
eyes again and even turned her back to him. A slender and fair leg was exposed from the silk cover.
Ethan rolled his eyes. He then pulled the quilt over her and huffed, "You really don't treat me as a
man..."
"Drink it yourself if you are thirsty."
Ethan didn't bother to care about her anymore. He simply got up and walked out. When he reached the
door, he looked back at the bed. "He hasn't had sex with any woman for the past years. I couldn't do it
if it were me."
The figure on the bed didn't move at all.
Ethan then left.
Pearl didn't open her eyes until the door was completely closed. She stared at the dark grey curtains
absent-mindedly. What Ethan had just said was still echoing in her mind.
Even though Ethan didn't tell her that Richard lost control because he was drugged, as a doctor, she
could tell that something was wrong with him. She couldn't deny that she really felt a little guilty.
