What a total jerk William was.

Chloe wanted to tell him to get lost. But then she thought that if it weren’t for him, perhaps the one she had to deal with would be Linda.

She suppressed her urge to curse and focused back on the movie.

Linda just came out after showering and picked up her phone from the table.

Just

then, Chloe said, “Linda, you got a text from William on WhatsApp.” This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

By then, Linda had already opened the message.

“Have you finished watching it?” Linda asked.

“Almost. I was interrupted just now.”

“Alright. You can continue watching. I’m calling Samson.” Linda didn’t reply to William’s message. Instead, she called a doctor to his apartment.

Linda was responsible, but she wouldn’t handle this matter personally. It was to avoid any other issues. She had to be cautious in every step she took. A slight misstep, and she would fall into deep trouble.

Linda no longer had the same reckless passion as before. Living a stable life was her ultimate goal.

After calling the doctor, Linda dialed Samson’s number.

On the other end, William was surprised when he saw two doctors in front of his door. His face turned

green at this sight.

The doctors told him that Linda had called them to treat his wound. Hearing this, William immediately

kicked them out.

The pain in his back stung, but it was nothing compared to the pain in his heart.

Did Linda really detest him that much? She wasn’t even willing to show him basic concern?

Unwilling to give up, William sent Linda a message. “Linda, the wound in my back hurts a lot. Please don’t

ignore me.

“I really want to see you. I promise I just want to see you, even if it’s just from afar.

Linda felt overwhelmed and sent a voice message. “Mr. Wilson, I hope you can understand one thing. When I said I’d be responsible, I meant financially. Your wound’s hurting, so I’ve already sent a doctor to

you.

“I’m not a doctor. I can’t relieve your pain. And whether you cherish your body or not is your own business.

I can’t control it.”

William’s heart shattered when he heard that.

Linda had truly given up. She truly didn’t want him anymore.

Linda sent another voice message. “Mr. Wilson, I’m very grateful for you saving me today. But I hope you don’t use this to make me do things I find disgusting.

“I used to care for you, and you found it disgusting. Now, your actions are contrary to your past behavior. I haven’t ignored you. I’m just respecting your previous statement–‘I need a shrew’s care.”

Linda exposed her own scars just to make William stop bothering her.

After listening, William’s mind drifted back to six years ago. At that time, he got into a car accident. Wilson Group was at a critical juncture, so his injury couldn’t be made public.

Hence, he didn’t go to the hospital and recuperated at home.

When Linda found out, she was very anxious. For the first two days, she barely left his side. Later, as William gradually recovered, he strongly rejected her presence. He said countless hurtful things to her.

All of it was the sins he had done in the past, If he could go back in time, he definitely wouldn’t let these things happen. Then, they would have a lovely child and not end up like this.

As William thought about it, he couldn’t help but cry. He hated himself and felt heartbroken for Linda. Just like Jay said–William was overly arrogant, and Linda did nothing wrong.

Linda’s biggest mistake was remembering a promise made when she was young and foolish. She insisted on fulfilling the promise. She’d definitely be happy if she had forgotten about it early on and never met

William.

But that was how fate was–it never went as anyone wished.
