tell you something. "Dad, besides coming to pay respects to Grandpa this time, I also want to I'm planning to divorce him. Dad, you're surely going to be shocked by this news. During All Souls' Day, I told you how good he was to me and that he was a good son-in-law to you. Just a few months have passed, and now we're going our separate ways. Do you find it amusing? To be honest, I find it amusing, too. From the moment he proposed the divorce until now, I've been somewhat dazed. How did we end up at this point of divorce... If someone had told me during All Souls' Day that I would be divorcing Zachary in a few months, I certainly wouldn't have believed them... I loved him so much, so how could I have possibly divorced him? Yet, such a thing truly happened... The story is a long one, and I hardly know where to begin. I'm pregnant now, and you're going to have a grandchild. If you're watching over us from heaven, please bless the child in my womb to be born safely... The truth is, I still love him. I've loved him for ten years, and we've been married for three. How could I possibly forget him easily? I feel a deep pain in my heart, a truly unbearable pain. Perhaps what was missing between us was just a bit of fate..."

Lenora said with a trembling voice, "I've loved him for ten years and finally became his wife. We've been doing well these past three years, so why does he suddenly want a divorce..."

How did it suddenly come to divorce? How did we unexpectedly reach this point of separation?

Lenora stood alone in front of her father's grave, murmuring to herself. Expressing her innermost thoughts aloud, she found some relief.

Now that things were settled, their divorce was inevitable.

Since things had already come this far, it was best to accept it with grace.

She was still carrying a child. She would give birth to this child and let them bear the surname Wilkin. This was her child alone, and she would raise them well as they grew up.

Lenora understood in her heart that after experiencing Zachary, it would be impossible for her to fall in love wholeheartedly with a second person in this lifetime.

He was handsome and suave, hailing from a distinguished family with exceptional abilities. Yet, he was also cold and heartless.

He taught her a lesson through his own actions.

Lenora had stayed in the cemetery until the afternoon.

After she had finished discussing her divorce from Zachary, she then shared her future plans

company.

Upon informing Gerald and Allison about their divorce, she would resign from the Regardless of whether Zachary agreed or not, she would leave and then find a suitable place to live, where she would settle down and give birth to her child. Given the opportunity in the future, she would occasionally bring the child to visit Gerald and Allison.

Lenora knelt before the tomb, bowing her head three times in respect to her father. "Dad," she said. "I must leave now, but I promise to visit you again during the New Year."

Lenora rose to her feet, left the cemetery, and drove away.

As she was lining up to get on the highway, a black sedan suddenly sped by, wedging itself between her and the car in front. Startled, Lenora quickly hit the brakes.

On the highway, the black sedan had been consistently driving ahead of Lenora, maintaining a distance that was neither too far nor too close.

The brake lights of the car ahead lit up, and Lenora immediately stepped on the brakes to slow down. After glancing at the rearview mirror, she changed lanes and overtook the black can

The black car quickly caught up again, once more driving ahead of Lenora.

A few minutes later, the previous scenario played out again. The black car slowed down and once more moved ahead of Lenora, further reducing its speed.

Lenora decided to change lanes, and he followed suit, blocking Lenora's path.

In Lenora's mind, she figured that someone had intentionally blocked her car.

Why?

She clearly didn't recognize the license plate of the car ahead. When the black car passed her earlier, someone had smiled at her through the window, a driver she also didn't recognize.

When she exited the highway, the black car had followed suit, trailing behind Lenora. It then maneuvered its way in front of her, slowing down its speed. Consequently, Lenora had no choice but to reduce her speed as well. He saw Lenora moving slowly, so he reduced his own pace even further.

If things continued this way, the only option would be for Lenora to stop. However, parking was not allowed anywhere along this stretch of road.

Lenora attempted to change lanes, but he mirrored her actions, persistently tailing right in

front of Lenora's car.

After Lenora tried to avoid the car multiple times, her heart was already filled with anger.

She knew in her heart that even if she successfully overtook the black car by changing lanes, she could only shake it off by continuously accelerating and racing against it.

Putting aside the fact that her driving skills weren't that great, even if they were, she wouldn't dare risk her own safety, let alone the safety of the child in her womb.

Seeking tranquility, Lenora glanced at the rearview mirror and switched to the outermost lane. She signaled and pulled over to the side of the road, then dialed the emergency number.

Suddenly, a thunderous bang echoed through the air.

The airbag deployed.

Lenora's head throbbed with immense pain, her vision blurred, and just before she slipped into unconsciousness, she realized that the white car behind her seemed to have been following her since she got onto the highway.

The piercing sound of screeching brakes echoed in the air, followed by a loud "bang." The entire car exploded, engulfed in roaring flames, reducing it to nothing more than a charred skeleton.

The familiar scenes played over and over again in her mind. Lenora suddenly opened her eyes, her head throbbing as if it were about to explode.

The scent of disinfectant wafted through the air, and Lenora understood that she was in a hospital.

Everything before her was a blur. She thought it was due to her long sleep, so she rubbed her eyes, giving them a few seconds to adjust. After waiting for a while, her vision remained. blurry. A sense of dread thudded in Lenora's heart. An inexplicable fear and worry surged within her.

"You're awake," a woman's voice echoed by her ears.

"Miss, I'm a police officer." The woman stepped forward, taking Lenora's hand and placing it on her shoulder, allowing her to feel her badge. The doctor said that you've suffered a minor concussion due to a car accident, and there's fluid accumulation in your brain. Can you see clearly right now? The fluid is pressing on your optic nerve. Once the fluid gradually absorbs, your vision will recover."

Unable to see clearly, Lenora felt particularly insecure. She tightly held the woman's hand, asking anxiously, "How is my child? Is my child safe?"

"Rest assured. The child is very strong."

"But I've been injured. Will using medicine affect the child?"

"I'm not a doctor, so I can't be certain, but the doctor said your injuries weren't severe. There was no mention of this in the report either. With careful consideration of the medication, I believe the child should be fine."

"That's good. That's good." Lenora finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Miss, how are you feeling now? I need to understand the specifics of the car accident. Can you manage?"

"Sure. Go ahead and ask.
