Chapter 15 by Lorelei Thunder
Woody took a gold needle and swiftly stuck it on the center of Mason’s forehead. Then, he continued to stick gold needles in different spots on Mason’s head.
He was moving faster each time he put a needle in place. His movements were so quick that people were having a hard time following them.
“What a load of bullshit…” Kevin scoffed.
On the other hand, Dwayne had a shocked expression on his face. He swallowed hard and said, “You probably shouldn’t draw your conclusions so soon, Kevin.
“He’s stuck the needles on the patient’s vital points. Normally, even trained acupuncturists would try to avoid those areas as much as possible.
You can tell that he’s bold and skilled from what he’s doing.”
Unlike Kevin, who was a staunch supporter of modern medicine, Dwayne had briefly learned the practice of traditional medicine in the past.
He could tell that Woody had exceptional skills.
Kevin said in a mocking tone, “What’s so great about it? It’s a useless attempt, anyway!
“Now you know why we’re so different even though we graduated from the same school. You fall so easily for these ineffective techniques. You’ll never be able to get to where I am now like this.”
Usually, Dwayne would flush scarlet in embarrassment upon hearing those remarks. However, Dwayne completely ignored Kevin’s “advice” this time as he stared in the direction of the hospital bed.
He exclaimed, “My goodness! No wonder I feel like I’ve seen it before. It’s the Phantom Hands Resuscitation Technique that everyone thought was lost in time!
“Rumor has it that you can use this technique to resuscitate those who have lost all signs of life within a certain amount of time!”
Nine gold needles were placed in nine of the patient’s vital points.
Regular practitioners wouldn’t do such a thing since this technique could prove to be more lethal than helpful.
However, Woody had opted for this technique since Mason’s heart had stopped beating. He needed to use an extreme method to resuscitate the patient.
“Bullshit! There’s no way something like that is real!” Kevin had it all thought out. He would just point out that Mason’s death was caused by Woody’s acupuncture treatment when this was all over.
Just then, the heart rate monitor picked up weak signs of heartbeat. Gradually, Mason’s heart rate and blood pressure rose to the normal level.
Kevin’s eyes bulged in shock. His face was beet red. “How could this be? This is impossible! I know! Mr. Cartwright must have been in a state of suspended animation just now!”
Clement snapped at him as he could no longer suppress his anger, “Enough! You insisted that there was no more hope for Mason. You won’t admit that you’re not that knowledgeable, and you’re afraid of embarrassing yourself.
“You’re even worse than us gangsters. Yet, you call yourself an expert? Do you know no shame?”
Meanwhile, Helen was delighted to see that her father’s vitals seemed to have returned to normal. “Is my father cured?”
“I’ve only resuscitated him. We still have a long way to go to cure his illness, “Woody stated. 1
Helen nodded vigorously. “I’ll be counting on you, Mr. Henderson.”
Woody continued his acupuncture treatment. This time, he meticulously stuck dozens of gold needles on Mason’s torso.
Dwayne had a look of astonishment on his face. He yelled out with excitement, “Good heavens! It’s the Lunar Eclipse Detoxification Technique! That’s an even more impressive technique than the Phantom Hands Resuscitation Technique.Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
“I never thought I would have the chance to witness these two techniques that were said to have vanished in the modern world. Even if I die here today, this makes it all worthwhile.”
Kevin knitted his brows. He used to find Dwayne lacking. Now, he even thought that Dwayne was obnoxious.
Kevin also seemed to understand why Dwayne only managed to get appointed as a hospital director in a small town when he had already become a famous expert in the medical field.
Kevin believed that Woody was just lucky.
He slowly regained his composure and assumed that Mason must have been in a suspended animation earlier.
A simple procedure like the bone marrow biopsy couldn’t have been lethal. Mason’s vitals were back because he had gotten out of the state of suspended animation.
Woody inserted a gold needle into Mason’s skin. Then, he cast a glance in Kevin’s direction. He said calmly, “If the gods can’t cure him, I will!”
