Rebirth of the Wife in Despair

Chapter 11

Chapter 11

Chapter 11 It’s Just Us In This House Now

A gentle night breeze came billowing in from outside, as a series of hurried footsteps woke Eileen up.

She blinked hazily, looking around her. She saw that the sky was already dark, and stopped feeling sleepy at once.

The sound of Vera apologizing over and over again could be heard. Confused, Eileen got up slowly and. opened the door.

She squinted her eyes, and was a little surprised by the sight that greeted her. “Oh, are you done with

work?”

Eric had gotten home around an hour before Eileen went to bed, and brought Vera shopping.

The two returned home, and Eric noticed that something in his room was missing.

It was none other than the birthday present Eileen had given to him.

Vera’s eyes were reddened, looking pitifully at Eileen. “Eileen…”

Eric walked forward, blocking Vera off.

He looked calm, but his gaze was cold. “I’m sorry, Eileen. I broke the bear you gave me. Vera thought. that it was something useless, and threw it away!”

Sharon appeared as well. “It’s my fault I didn’t tell Ms. Blake in time too.”

Everyone was waiting for Eileen to throw a tantrum, and start shouting.

Yet Eileen simply raised her eyebrows, letting out a laugh. “Is that so? That’s a shame, that bear was limited edition…”

Anyone who cried would get their way in the world.

It wasn’t her fault. Vera was in tears, which meant that Eileen would be at fault if she did not forgive her.

She had hated Vera in the last life for taking Eric’s heart, hated her for the way she would cry and whine at the slightest inconvenience.

She still hated her for that in this life, but it didn’t matter anymore. Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

Eric stared at Eileen, his gaze cold.

He was about to speak, but Eileen cut him off. “If you like it that much, I’ll give you another one on your birthday this year. That way I won’t have to spend so much time thinking of a gift.”

Vera said, “I’m really sorry, Vera. I didn’t mean it.”

Eileen glanced at Vera. “It’s nothing. The bear wasn’t even mine, you don’t have to apologize to me even if it goes missing.”

To prevent the topic from going on, Eileen asked, “Sharon, is dinner ready? I’m getting a little hungry!”

“Yes, I was just about to call you to cat.”

“Let me get changed, and I’ll come downstairs.”

After changing into a different set of clothes and going downstairs, Eileen saw that there were two empty seats in the dining room. “Sharon, where are Eric and Vera?”

Sharon said, “Mr. Snow’s left with Ms. Blake, they said they already had dinner and didn’t want to stay. Oh… Mr. Snow brought you dessert and told me to remember to give it to you. He actually cares about you quite a lot.”

The last line was said to comfort her.

Eileen could tell.

Sharon brought out a strawberry mousse cake. He had really bought it.

Eileen thought that he had just said it to placate her.

Finding out that Eric and Vera had left the house and seeing the cake Eric had bought did not make Eileen feel much.

She knew then that she had already gotten over the past!

Eileen took a bite of the cake. It was not too sweet, from the shop she always went to.

“You come eat with me then, Sharon.”

Sharon said, “That’s alright, I ate a while back. Besides, it’s not right for a maid to eat with her master.”

Eileen held Sharon by the hand, pulling her onto a nearby chair and putting on her most pitiful expression. “We’re the only ones left in this house now, come on! There’s no one else around anyways.”

Eric and Vera might never return to this house anymore!

Sharon had no choice but to sit down. She honestly took pity on the kid, seeing as she had no friends that truly cared for her. Eileen was always doing everything on her own.

Even Mr. Snow, the man of Ms. Swan’s dreams, only had eyes for Vera Blake.

Eric had not returned to the house once ever since he left.

Will’s flight had been delayed by turbulence, and it would take him some time to get back.

Eileen began to think about her life during this time. She had been willing to go through hell and back for Eric in her last life, putting all of her time and energy into him. She had even flunked her entrance exams, and could only get into an average college.

She was only in twelfth grade now, and should study hard to get into a good university so that she would go a different path than she had in her last life.

Eileen was currently attending Petalburg High School, one of the best schools in the city. The whool fees were of course expensive as well, going as high as over a hundred thousand dollars per year

The car that sent the students to and from school was priced in the millions as well, and anyone who attended school at this place came from a rich family,

Of course, there were also transfer students from other schools who had gotten in with good results. The school had a reward system for exceptional students like this, waiving their fees entirely with a hefty scholarship.

Eileen’s chauffeur dropped her off at the school entrance. “Ms. Swan, give me a call when you’re done.” Eileen nodded. “Alright.”
