Reborn Before The Divorce

Chapter 74

“Although you have flaws, it doesn’t hide your excellence,” said Barclay, getting more and more excited as if he were giving Jesse the opportunity to eat with them despite not being able to play golf.

“No need, I’m busy,” Jesse said without hiding his displeasure.

“Well, that’s a shame. We’ll arrange it next time when Mr. Pascall has time,” Barclay replied.

Jesse’s gaze fell lightly on Barclay. “Perhaps when I have time, Mr. Evans will be too busy,” he said, leaving his words unfinished.

“What do you mean, Mr. Pascall?” Barclay asked, somewhat confused.

“You’ll find out later. Dinner is over, and I won’t keep you,” Jesse said.

Jesse’s attitude was really hard to figure out. Sometimes he seemed very proactive in trying to get on their good side, and at other times he was sarcastic and cold. This made Barclay quite unhappy. But then he remembered that Jesse was disabled and no matter how impressive he was, if he couldn’t stand up, he was just a waste of space.

“Well, we’ll be leaving. Thank you for the hospitality,” Willette said, getting up.

“I’ll walk you out,” Nydia said, preparing to escort them out.

But as she passed by Jesse, he suddenly reached out and grabbed her waist, pulling her towards him. Her body hit his wheelchair, and his hand held her waist firmly.

“You’re not feeling well, are you? Let Jeff send them off,” he said softly, his voice full of concern, in contrast to the strength in his grip.

Nydia was shocked. What was going on with Jesse today? It seemed like he had a strong desire to perform.

Willette and Barclay watched them in amazement, especially at Nydia’s waist. Then they looked at her face, which had a smile on it now.

“Jeff, please send my sister and brother-in-law off. I haven’t been feeling well these past couple of days,” Nydia said.

As they walked out, Jesse finally let go of her hand.

Nydia turned around and looked at him. Their eyes met, and Jesse’s eyes were icy cold, like a glacier that had no end, without a hint of warmth.

She pouted and reached out to hold her waist, complaining, “You’re too strong, it hurts. I already had an injury, was it necessary to use so much force?”

Jesse was stunned, the surprise clearly visible in his eyes, which Nydia noticed. He thought she would turn around and accuse him, giving him a cold stare.Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.

Indeed, she did blame him, but only for using too much force and hurting her. Her expression was full of petulance.

“Hey, what’s wrong with you?” She waved her hand in front of him.

“Did Willette ask you about Marty?” Jesse changed the subject.

“Yeah, I told him the police are investigating, and I don’t know anything,” Nydia replied.

“Okay.”

“I’m tired. I’m going back to lie down. My back hurts. Aren’t you in pain?” Despite her more serious injury, Jesse seemed unaffected.

Jesse just glanced at her without answering the question. However, Nydia noticed that his eyes were not as cold as before and seemed to have a hint of warmth.

After taking a few steps away, Nydia suddenly remembered something and came back to Jesse’s side, squatting down next to the wheelchair.

“How was my acting just now?” She raised her eyebrows, her eyes sparkling with pride and joy.

Jesse frowned and leaned back against the wheelchair’s backrest, as if trying to distance himself from Nydia.
