Chapter 52
Nelson took two punches from Gerald without retaliating. But when Gerald did not stop, his expression darkened with anger.
When it came to fighting, Gerald was no match for him. Soon enough, Nelson pinned him to the ground.
"Now that you know the truth, just give up. You can stay in Slitton. But if you miss Sabrina, keep it to yourself and out of my sight. Otherwise, go abroad for a couple of years."
Even with his face pressed against the icy ground, Gerald remained unyielding.
"Nelson Tucker, you're a scumbag! You've trampled on her heart, and you'll pay for it!"
"I can't say for sure if I'll pay for my actions. But I do know she's definitely unhappy. That night, when you knocked on the car window, she begged me to find a way to send you away."
Like a madman, Gerald broke free from Nelson's grip. In no time, the two of them tumbled onto the grass, fighting furiously.
Justin chuckled before commenting, "Just look at Nelson. He's the most refined gentleman of high society, yet he's now in a brawl. I should film it and post it on my Instagram."
Ronaldo clicked his tongue and shook his head.
"Nelson said he's only with Sabrina for her body. Did he really need to provoke Gerald like that?"
…
Sabrina was having lunch with Abigail when she received a call from Dylan.
When Abigail heard that Sabrina had been set up but had not uncovered the mastermind, she leaned in and asked, "Could it be Pamela?"
"I don't think so."
Pamela was Nelson's beloved woman. She had known about Sabrina all this time, yet everything had been peaceful for three years. So, the sudden turn of events didn't make any sense.
"Who else could it be then? You've been doing business for years and have always kept things diplomatic. Sure, some men may be blunt, but you've never encountered such despicable behavior," Abigail insisted, still convinced that Pamela was behind all this.
Sabrina replied, "I'm still investigating. Don't jump to conclusions, okay? Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
"By the way, do you remember when I mentioned the brooch wasn't damaged? I think someone took it. Have you seen any other jewelry, artwork, or valuable items popping up for sale?"
"There are no updates on Mr. Wyatt's items. But the emerald pendant Nelson gave you has appeared before. Someone tried to sell it."
Abigail's answer made Sabrina's chest tighten. It turned out that the things she thought were lost in the fire were actually taken by someone.
Right then, Sabrina's phone rang. She answered the call and learned that Gerald and Nelson had fought and were now in the hospital.
She and Abigail immediately stopped eating.
…
When they arrived at the emergency room, Sabrina noticed that Nelson's down vest was covered in dirt, while Gerald had blades of grass all over him.
Both men were injured—one had a swollen lip, and the other a bruised eye. The two looked rather pathetic.
Gerald's head hung low. The moment he saw Sabrina, his lips parted. Yet, he did not utter a single word and lowered his head again.
In an instant, Sabrina knew that Gerald had learned everything.
She glanced at Nelson. But ultimately, she approached Gerald.
"Are you okay?" she asked.
Gerald nodded, appearing quite hurt.
"I'm sorry, Gerald."
Gerald looked at Sabrina with red-rimmed eyes.
He smiled wryly and replied, "What did you do wrong?"
"It seems like I didn't do anything wrong, but I hurt you," said Sabrina.
Sabrina stood before the bench, her head slightly lowered. Gerald raised his head slightly. The two gazed at each other as if they were the only two in the room.
As the nurse applied medication to Nelson's wounds, he pushed her hand away and yelled, "Come here!"
Sabrina ignored him. She genuinely thought that the incident from the day before was resolved. Little did she know, Nelson went to inform Gerald directly.
The secret she had desperately tried to keep hidden was exposed by him, just like that.
"Go on, Sabrina. You'll suffer if you provoke him," Gerald uttered before lowering his gaze.
He could not take Sabrina away or help her get a divorce. Even looking at her was wrong. Without him as a spectator, Nelson wouldn't spiral into madness.
Thus, Gerald got up and walked in the opposite direction. He figured this was the only thing he could do for Sabrina.
