My Billionaire Family 510
After saying those words, the two bid each other goodbye, with Jan walking to the left and Hank heading to the right.
As Hank walked, just a few seconds after they passed each other strange smile appeared on his face, and he muttered to himself, "Jean really is adorable."
By coincidence, as both of them disappeared from sight around the corner, Cherise, who had been standing there, slowly stepped out. She crossed her arms and looked into the distance her expression unreadable.
Meanwhile, Lydia had been locked in her room at home for a full six hours since returning from Ebb & Flow.
When Lydia came back, she looked a bit off, and Cora suggested they leave her alone. No one dared to disturb her, neither to knock on her door for dinner nor to bother her.
When Stella returned from work, she immediately sensed something was wrong in the house. Without thinking, she casually asked one of the maids, "What's going on here? Is something happening at home? Where's Lydia? Have my parents gone to bed already?" The maid didn't dare to say much but simply nodded and pointed upstairs toward Lydia's room.
Stella, sensing the tension, pursed her lips. "Okay, I understand. You all go ahead and rest."
Stella put down her bag and headed upstairs toward Lydia's room.
On the way up, she remembered the scene from the previous morning when Cora had taken her to Lydia's room. There had been a wall filled with photos of the same man!
The photos were of him walking, working, slacking off, looking depressed, shopping... every possible scenario.
Some even showed him eating various fruits in different photos. There were dozens of them.
The captions beneath the photos made it clear that Lydia had hired a private investigator to secretly take them.
Stella was in complete disbelief. Lydia's obsession with this man was bordering on the unhealthy.
The man in the photos was a promising young man, reportedly the grandson of Gavino, Jagger's close friend.
He was indeed a fine-looking guy from a well-off family.
When Stella reached Lydia's door, she paused, observing the closed door. She knocked lightly. "Lydia, it's me. Could I come in and see how you're doing?"
After several seconds, a voice from inside responded. "I don't want to see anyone. Please go away."
"Lydia, please. Your dad entrusted you to me so I could take good care of you. Please open the door. I'm really worried.
"You've always been close to me. If something's bothering you, just tell me. We can figure it out together, okay?" said Stella, looking a bit anxious and continuing to persuade. The door remained silent.
Just as Stella was about to give up and leave, the door opened.
Lydia appeared, looking disheveled and unkempt.
Seeing her like this, Stella was taken aback and took two steps back in shock.
Lydia's face was covered with the visible traces of tears. Her makeup had completely melted, mascara, eyeliner, and eyeshadow smeared together with her tears, making her look as though someone had punched her in the eyes. 62%novelbin
Lydia's hair was a mess, and she looked like a homeless person of the street, a far cry from her usual refined, wealthy lady
persona.
Stella gasped, trying to hold back a scream. "Oh my God, Lydia, how did you let yourself get like this? You've always been the perfect lady. What happened?"
Lydia didn't answer. She lowered her head and turned, heading back into her room.
Fortunately, this time Lydia didn't lock the door. Stella gathered her courage and followed her inside.
Once inside, Stella was horrified to see that the walls were covered with torn pieces of photos scattered all over the floor.
'When I came in just the day before, everything seemed fine. What happened... This must be the result of something heartbreaking,' Stella thought to herself.
Stella stared at Lydia, who was sitting on the bed with a vacant expression in her eyes, feeling an overwhelming sense of worry. She walked over and bent down to look at Lydia. "Lydia, please tell me what happened. What's going on? "You've always been the most cherished girl in the family, but now you're so terrible. Something must have hurt you, right?
"It's okay. You're still so young. There are plenty of good men in the world. If this one doesn't work out, we'll find the next one, okay? Be good and listen to me. Don't be like this. It's scaring me."
At hearing Stella's words, Lydia slowly lifted her head and met her gaze. "Aunt Stella, the man I like has a girlfriend. How can this be? He always said he didn't believe in marriage or relationships, but now he tells me he has a girlfriend. "Did he lie to me? I can't give up. No, I won't give up. Aunt Stella do you remember? The first time I went to chase a star, I met him.
"My
friend liked that celebrity, but I wasn't interested in celebrities. I immediately noticed the celebrity's boss, the man who was there. "Later, I heard that my grandfather and his grandfather were old friends. I was so happy because it meant I could get closer to him.
"I was only 15 at the time, and when my dad sent me to Hesperia to look for you, I agreed right away. I wanted to study business administration. I wanted to be like him and become a businessman after graduating.
"In Hesperia, I had people follow him just to know more about his situation in Clusia. All these years, I never saw him with any other woman.
"And now, suddenly, he says he has a girlfriend? All these years of my effort, are they all for nothing?"
Stella shook her head, disapproving, and before she could say anything, Lydia suddenly stood up straight.
"No, he must be lying to me. I can't give up. I need to get myself together," Lydia said as if regaining some energy. She immediately headed to the bathroom.
Stella didn't know what to say. She didn't support Lydia's approach but quietly began tidying up the room.
What Stella didn't know was that, in her own way, she was just as stubborn when it came to love.
