Revenge is Best Served… After Reborn

Chapter 1014

Sophie quickly drove to the East Dock, where she decided it was best not to show her face. Instead, she signaled for Odie to step out of the car.

Odie glanced at the line of thugs at the dock, his expression souring. "Why didn't you tell me they had this many people here?"

"Relax, Mr. Odie," Sophie said calmly. "Most of these guys are still Mintons' insiders. With you here, you can easily sway them, right?"NôvelDrama.Org content.

"You..."

Holding back his frustration, Odie noticed many of the thugs had the distinctive Mintons tattoo, indicating they were indeed traitors within the organization. Selling off Mintons' machinery was a serious violation of his principles. If it weren't for the mission to clean house today, he would have turned the car around.

Odie got out, pulled out his phone, had a quick conversation, and then walked toward the dock. The leader, seeing Sophie hadn't come but just a bodyguard, was visibly annoyed.

"What's the meaning of this? Sending just you to pick up the goods?" he snapped.

There was a whole shipload of machinery, which couldn't be moved without at least twenty dock workers. Odie, wearing a hat, kept his expression hidden.

"Are you deaf? Where's your boss? Get her out here!" the leader, a burly man in his forties with a large tattoo on his arm, demanded. Just as he was about to push Odie, Odie spoke up. "Our boss sent me to inspect the goods first. She's caught up with something and can't make it right now."

Hearing Odie was there to inspect the goods, the leader threw his cigarette to the ground. "Third, bring out the goods for him to see."

"Yes, boss!" One of the underlings quickly went back to the ship and, along with a few others, brought a crate in front of Odie.

"These goods are genuine," the leader said. "But if you don't pay the balance today, you're not taking anything with you."

Odie opened the crate and, sure enough, it was filled with

professional machines from Minton Casino. Such machinery could only come from high ranks within the Mintons. This realization made Odie sneer. It seemed his control over his subordinates was still lacking. Someone had the audacity to conduct such shady deals right

under his nose!

"Seen enough? Call your boss over to pay up. I've got a ton of other business to attend to," the leader said arrogantly, with his underlings looking just as menacingly at Odie.

Odie calmly closed the crate. "How do I know these machines are genuinely from the Mintons? I've heard that Mintons' machinery isn't sold to the public. If these turn out to be fakes, my boss would fire me."

"Kid, do you know who you're talking

to? You're facing Arthur from the Mintons. Arthur oversees the Mintons factories. It doesn't matter if it's a hundred, a thousand, or ten

thousand machines! As long en

there's money, I, Arthur, can get them for you!"

An underling boasted about the leader in front of Odie. Arthur? Odie looked at

Mintons, having worked there for at least a decade. When old Mr. Minton passed away, he had placed a lot of trust in these people. Over the years, Odie had dealt with many under the old man's command, but it appeared some had slipped through the net.
