The Babysitter

Chapter 21: I said it

Chapter 21: I said it

Chapter 21: (Aubrey's POV)- I Said It!

"It's really not that hard to believe, will you stop yelling?" Xavier groaned rubbing his temples while his

dad yelled at him continuously.

"Do not talk to me like that, Xavier!" he shouted.

I think I was going deaf all the way from here, I can't imagine Xavier.

"What do you want me to do?" Xavier asked him, boredom gracing his face.

"What the hell did you do to get on house arrest?" he questioned.

Xavier rolled his eyes before replying, "I stole a cop's gun to distract him because he caught me

breaking and entering into the school to vandalize and damage property. Got it? Or do I have to repeat

myself?" he didn't hesitate to show attitude.

Something was gnawing at me inside and I couldn't put my finger on it, I just had a bad feeling.

"Do not give me that attitude, Xavier! Talk respectfully!" Will demanded.

Xavier groaned. "I really don't give a shit as to what you're saying. Get the fuck out of my fucking

room," Xavier spat, emphasizing the words he swore out.

What I saw next, shook me to my core. I saw Will raising his hand, and slapping Xavier right across the

face. Slapping. He hit him. Oh my god. My hand flew to my mouth to cover and trap the gasp that

escaped from it. Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

I leaned my head against the wall and sealed my eyes shut tightly. I was shit scared right now. Not from

Will, but for Xavier. Is he okay? Was he going to be okay? Was he hurt? Is Will going to do anything

worse?

"You're a disappointment to my blood! I'm glad it's your mother's name you have!" Will screamed before

I heard a door swing open and slam shut followed by muffled footsteps. I stayed rooted to my spot,

frozen.

I couldn't move. I just couldn't do it. I felt tears stinging my eyes but I didn't know why.

He hit him.

I'm no lawyer but I swear that's child abuse! Xavier is a minor! This can't be right! And Xavier didn't fight

back, that can only mean that it's happened before. Has it? Could that be why he hates him so deeply?

Three minutes.

Three minutes went by and I was still rooted to my spot. Xavier hadn't come to get me out I wasn't even

sure if he was still in the room since I can't remember if he left or not, the last ten minutes are a blur to

me.

I finally gathered the courage to look through the blinds. There I saw Xavier, now sitting at the foot of

the bed, with his head in his hands.

Before I knew what I was doing, my feet began moving and I slowly opened the door. I slowly stepped

out and stood still in my spot.

He didn't turn to look in my direction he just sat there, still.

I took a deep breath in before taking small steps towards him, eventually sitting down beside him. I sat

there still, thinking of what the fuck to do. What do I do? I want to comfort him but I don't know how to.

"Xavier," I whispered. Nope. No response. Nothing. "Xavier," I spoke a little louder, grabbing onto his

arm but still, nothing. I let out a sigh before standing in front of him, pushing his arms out of his face,

and tilting his chin up, forcing him to look at me. "Parker," I said.

He looked at me almost... numbly?

Word vomit in three, two, one.

"Seriously, I mean who the hell does he think he is? Why didn't you punch him in the face? I wish you

would have. What the hell is wrong with him, like seriously, who does that? That's child abuse, I swear

it! I-" I caught myself before making him feel worse which I realized I could have been doing. "Are you

okay?"

Dumb bitch.

"Stupid question." I shook my head. "Will you be okay?" I tried to phrase it a little better but it didn't

quite work. "Xavier please, say something. Talk to me?" I pleaded.

"What do you want me to say?" he asked, scoffing coldly. He was hurt. And not just physically.

"I want you to say you're gonna be okay, and I want you to mean it," I spoke calmly.

"Aubrey, why are you here?" He looked up at me, his hair falling over his eyes slightly.

What?

"What do you mean, you asked me to come today," I thought out loud. I was completely lost.

"You need to leave," he demanded. His eyes spoke for him. He was being dead serious.

I shook my head. "No." I am not leaving him right now.

"Leave."

"No."

"Leave, Aubrey," he spoke warningly.

"No, Xavier," I spoke in the same tone.

"Aubrey, I'm telling you to leave. So listen to me and leave," he said lowly.

"Xavier, I'm telling you no. So listen to me when I tell you no," I said a little more confidently.

"Leave!" he shouted demandingly.

"I'm not leaving you!" I shouted back.

"Why?" he sighed. "I asked you to come and you listened. Now I'm telling you to leave. Just listen," he

pleaded.

"I'm not leaving you. Not right now. It's not gonna happen," I told him straightforwardly.

"Why?" he sighed looking at me emotionlessly.

"Because I like you! And I care about you way too much to walk out of here! There, I said it!" I sighed in

frustration blurting my words out before comprehending them.

He just looked at me while surprise swirled in his eyes.

"Don't look at me like that! With such surprise! You saw it coming, Parker! And you better not act all

confused! You lead me on! You flirted! You held my hand! You kissed my cheek! You flirted, Parker!

And don't you dare deny that because-"

My rant was cut short when he held my waist, pulling me close to him before grabbing the back of my

neck and crashing his lips on mine.

First of all, holy shit! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god!

Second of all, Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god!

Third of all, Oh my fucking god!

For a solid two seconds, I froze while having a party in my head before I finally reciprocated the kiss

and wrapped my arms around his neck subconsciously.

"I like you too," he whispered, his lips brushing against mine.

I took a small step back, increasing the distance between us.

He got confused.

"Call officer Clarke."

He just got more confused.

"I'm getting you out of here for today," I sighed.

A huge smile formed on his face and he wasted no time calling officer Clarke. Ten minutes later, he

was here.

"Rob- officer Clarke, what are you doing here?" Catherine asked nervously after answering the door

while Xavier and I peeked from the edge of the stairs.

"Xavier and Aubrey called me. They said it was an emergency," Robert explained.

"Aubrey's-" Catherine began but Will cut her off.

"Who the hell is Aubrey?" He was still fuming.

"I am," I announced as we made our way down the stairs. "I'm Xavier's girlfriend," I lied. I saw Xavier

stiffen beside me.

"I'm sorry, where did you just appear from?" Will questioned me.

"His bedroom," I spoke with a smile plastered on my face. "Where you hit him," I spoke lowly but I knew

everyone heard me. I'm glad, it was meant to be heard. I glanced at Xavier to see him smiling.

"Will!" Catherine screamed.

Robert just stood there in complete and utter shock.

I cleared my throat, "Officer Clarke, I would like to have Xavier's monitor off for today," I requested.

"You know that's not possible, Aubrey." He gave me and Xavier a pointed look.

"Please? I just want to take him out of this house for one day! While he's here." I glared at Will.

Robert contemplated it for a moment before sighing in defeat. "Drop by at the station and get it back on

later." He walked over and pulled the monitor right off his ankle.

I smiled widely at Xavier before he took my hand in his, and with that, we were out the door.
