The Beauty and the Brain

Chapter 200

Chapter 200

They went to the airport, and right after they left, Clayton’s men arrived. Looking at the house filled with

energy drink bottles and cans, the room was messy as if it was a war. It was clear that the people living

here were working day and night without slacking off. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

However, Clayton still couldn’t trust Marie easily. This woman was too mysterious, and he absolutely

couldn’t allow such a potential threat to stay by Dennis ‘side.

One of his subordinates came in and reported, “Boss, there’s news from the hospital

that Cullen is awake, and Ms. Spence went to see him.”

Clayton froze for a moment, then his expression turned cold as he said, “Go to the

hospital!”

As soon as they entered the ward, Clayton looked at Cullen coldly and asked, “Did your

tell Marie about the location and situation of the accident?”

Cullen looked at Clayton’s angry gaze, nodded silently, and said, “Mr. Philemon, you have your own

thoughts, and Mr. Whitney has his own judgment. Since Mr. Whitney believes in Ms. Spence, then I

believe her too.”

“Foolish! Do you want to harm Dennis?” Clayton glared at him.

Cullen clenched the blanket, and shook his head, saying, “Mr. Whitney’s life is uncertain but I believe

Ms. Spence will bring him back.”

Clayton was so angry that he wished he could rush up and punch Cullen right then. If it was true that

Dennis’ disappearance really had something to do with Marie, then they would be like releasing the

tiger back into the mountain, and no one would ever catch her again!

After much effort, Clayton finally got the information from Cullen and tracked down the location of those

people. Meanwhile, Marie and Luca had already flown to Brussels.

As soon as she landed, Marie rechecked the information she had received before and

soon found Dennis’ whereabouts. There was only one stronghold that showed frequent activity and

increased security personnel.

Marie asked Luca to buy guns from the black market. Luca grabbed her and asked, “What are you

planning to do? Are you really going to swagger into their den like this?”

Marie lowered her head as she inspected the guns in her hands, nodded, and replied,

“Yes, is there a problem?”

“No problem? With your petite figure, you’ll be lucky if you’re not reduced to bones. once you enter

there. Do you think this is a movie?” Luca shouted.

Marie put the gun away and pinned it behind her waist. Then, she took a small pistol and concealed it

in her boots. She wore tight black trousers and a dark red leather jacket with a vibrant rose print on the

chest. She untied her hair, and let her long hair down, flowing seductively behind her back.

She flicked her hair and said, “Even you think I’m Rose, so I’ll play that role this time. This group of

people has been doing business in France for so long. They must have heard of the name Rose,

right?”

“While that may be true, you’re still not Rose after all! If something happens to you, how do I explain it

to Emory and the others?” Luca anxiously paced around the room.

The dart in Marie’s hand reflected a dazzling light. With a flick of her hand, the dart firmly stuck into the

wall. She put on a half-black mask that she had prepared, revealing her lips with a hint of a smile,

saying, “Now, I am Rose.”

She grabbed Luca and said, “I can’t wait for Emory and the others to arrive. You stay here to meet

them and when everyone is gathered, come to support me. Luca, Dennis ist

inside. I have to go.”

The gaze in Marie’s eyes was resolute, reminiscent of the commanding Rose who once gave orders to

them. It was unshakable and unquestionable.

Marie stepped out of the door, where a newly-bought motorcycle was parked. She straddled it and

sped away. Luca had never been so worried before. If anything happened to her, none of them would

be able to face Rose.

The motorbike drove all the way into the forests, beyond the forest was the stronghold.

There were several rows of residential houses inside. Behind the houses was a hilly

gorge with a river, and in front was the forest. It could be said to be easy to defend but

difficult to attack.

off

Two people stood guard at the entrance with guns in their hands. Marie raced toward

them on the motorcycle. Just before they could shoot, she stopped steadily and got the motorcycle.

Dennis collapsed onto the ground with a thug. She brushed off the dust

from her body and spoke in French, “I’m here to see for your boss.”

One of them looked at her and was hesitant to make a move. After all, in a place like this, a young girl

coming alone shouldn’t be an ordinary person.

The other person held the gun in his hand and pointed at Marie, cursing, “Who are you? Are you here

to die?”

With a bloodthirsty and enchanting smile on her face, she raised her delicate hand and beckoned to the

man. The man walked over with a smile. Marie fiercely grabbed the gun from his hand and struck him

on the head with the grip handle of the gun, leaving behind a trail of crimson blood. She held the gun

against his head and said to the other man, “Go tell your boss that the international assassin Rose is

here to talk business.

with him.”

The man ran into the house. Not long after, a bald man surrounded by a group of people ran out.

Seeing Marie holding a gun next to the motorcycle, he asked, “Are you Rose?”

“Since you’ve heard of me, I’ll be straight to the point. Do you know Jake, the firearms. trafficker in

Europe?”

The bald man nodded and asked, “I know him, what business do you want to discuss?”

“I intercept his goods, give them to you, and give me the man,” said Marie.

She had never seen Jake before, only heard of him. She made up a random deal to infiltrate this

place.

The bald man squinted his eyes and looked at her. This deal is indeed very tempting. Rose is an

internationally renowned top assassin. With her help, this business would be halfway to success.

However, the problem is that a masked woman suddenly rushed here to work with me. Isn’t that a bit

strange?

The man said, “You’re wearing a mask. How do I know if you’re really Rose?”

Marie smiled, her lips curling upward. She said, “You don’t have to lie to me. Even if I take off my mask,

you wouldn’t recognize me because you’ve never seen me at before.”

The bald man froze for a moment and said, “How can you prove that you are Rose?”

She pushed away the man beside her, raised her gun, and aimed it at the bald man. Several people

around him immediately raised their guns at her. The man waved his

hand, and the people hesitated before lowering their guns.

Bang! With one shot, Marie shot down the fruit hanging from the tree behind the bald man. She was

cold-blooded and precise.

With a cold expression, she said, “If it works, then let’s cooperate. If not, then forget it. Why waste

time?”

The bald man was stunned for a moment, then laughed out loud and said, “Miss Rose, how could it not

work when you grace us with your presence? I’m happy to work with

you!”

After holstering her gun behind her waist, she swayed her hips and strutted in.

The bald man, who seemed to be the leader here, treated her with respect as a partner. He even

arranged a separate room for her to discuss the battle plan with her in detail.

Marie settled in and discreetly gathered information about that place. She learned that the bald man

was Driscoll, the elder brother of Landon. After Landon’s death, Driscoll flew into a rage and vowed to

tear Clayton up into pieces. However, he was born into a powerful military and political family. He also

had an entire base of troops and strict bodyguards. Driscoll couldn’t get hold of Clayton, so he captured

Dennis, hoping to force him to reveal Clayton’s whereabouts.

Marie spent the whole day wandering around, finally discovering the location where Dennis was being

held. Dennis was locked up in the last house. If he wanted to escape, he had to pass through all the

front houses and cross the jungle to reach the town. Running the other way would lead him into the

deep mountains, where there would be

no chance of survival.

Marie pretended to ask casually, “Who lives there?”

Driscoll gritted his teeth and said, “That place… it houses my prisoner! Rose, would you.

like to take a look?”

Marie smiled and said, “Sure, I have nothing better to do anyway.”

Driscoll ordered someone to open the door and led Marie inside. There was only a small window in the

room, and the sunlight shone in from outside, shining on the man lying

motionless in the corner.

The man wore black trousers and his white shirt was stained with large patches of

blood. His once meticulously groomed hair was now messy.

That man, who should have been noble like a deity, always appearing as a lofty king, was dragged into

the dirt, covered in filthy dust.

But Marie still felt that the man was damn irresistibly sexy and charming.
