Chapter 2365
Chapter 2365
Upon hearing that long-forgotten name, Steven froze for a moment as his mind turned blank.
After a while, his eyes widened in shock, and anger surged in his chest. He took several deep breaths before managing to calm himself.
"Ms. Bella, please don't mention her name again. That name is like a curse! Just thinking about all the harm she caused you back then makes my blood boil..."
"Those old wounds are in the past," Bella interrupted calmly. "Let's focus on the present. Somehow, Clarice reminds me of Rosalind."
It was ironic, really.
Although Rosalind had been Justin's childhood friend, someone who grew up alongside him, Bella understood Rosalind better than anyone else in the world.
After Old Master Nigel arranged for Justin to be engaged to Bella, Bella had spent years mimicking Rosalind's every move in a desperate attempt to win Justin's favor.
Bella copied her mannerisms, her fashion sense, even her soft, gentle way of speaking.
For those three years, Bella lived in humility, enduring endless compromises and sacrifices. She had been so consumed by the relationship that she had nearly lost her sense of self.
Thankfully, those days were long gone.
She had reclaimed her identity and vowed never to become someone else for anyone ever again.
Steven blinked in surprise. "You suspect there's some connection between Clarice and Rosalind?"
"I don't want to jump to conclusions, but aside from their voices and appearances, their mannerisms are eerily alike. Physical features are easy to alter, but habits and personalities are etched into one's soul. Those are much harder to change."
Steven nodded in agreement.
Bella always had a wild imagination. Whenever an idea crossed her mind, it would unleash a torrent of inspiration within her. If she spotted even the slightest glimmer of truth, she would relentlessly pursue it until the entire picture became clear.Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
It was only a matter of time.
At this moment, Bella's mind was already swirling with suspicions and ideas. But for now, they were like scattered beads, unstrung and incomplete.
"When the Gold family went bankrupt and Rosalind was disgraced at her engagement party, she fled to Meridan. Coincidentally, Clarice also returned from Meridan."
Steven furrowed his brows thoughtfully. "But, Ms. Bella, there are plenty of people in the world who share similar habits and personalities. That's why people say there's always another version of you out there somewhere, isn't it?"
Bella's red lips curled into a faint, chilling smile, and her eyes glimmered with a cold light. "True. But these two people who are so alike also happen to be on the opposing side. Don't you think that's way too much of a coincidence? TV shows always love those revenge plots where a woman gets plastic surgery and returns for payback. Real life can sometimes be even more dramatic."
Indeed, Bella's life had been a whirlwind a suspenseful blockbuster filled with twists and turns, betrayals, and endless reversals.
Steven swallowed hard. "Ms. Bella, if—and I mean if-Clarice is actually Rosalind, how could a foolish woman like her transform into a doctor? How did she end up by Grant's side? What's the connection between them?"
Bella's gaze darkened. "I don't know. But it's definitely fishy."
The air in the car grew tense, heavy with unspoken truths.
Grant had a connection with Justin, while Rosalind also had a connection with Justin and harbored deep hatred toward Bella.
Given that Grant was able to recruit someone as powerful as Christopher, there was a good chance he also managed to bring Rosalind, who was in exile, under his wing.
"Steve, for now, these are just speculations. We need concrete evidence to back them up. So, until we're sure, don't alert the enemy." Bella's eyes burned with determination. "But whether she is Clarice or Rosalind, if she dares harm Justin or the people I care about, I will not let her go."
Steven nodded solemnly, then added, "Ms. Bella, stay in the car for now. I'll go inside and take a look first." "Not yet," Bella interrupted decisively.
