The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage

Chapter 1488

Frank then picked up the listening device he took from Jan, speaking quietly, "This bug is different from the one planted on you. It records conversations, but you can also converse through it-so why don't I show you what your dear brother was hiding from you?" Frank then pressed a button on the listening device, broadcasting throughout the ballroom with the microphone.

"Don't worry, Mr. Lionheart. Rob Turnbull is a total idiot-just a little push, and he's beside himself with tearful gratitude and unable to wait to kill his own father for my sake."

"Hehe... Don't worry. The plan is flawless this time, but I just need that woman to write a challenge letter, just so that Glen Turnbull doesn't see through this plan."

"Yes, don't worry... I will definitely bring down the Turnbulls this time and deliver their spiritron vein to you."

As the recording ended, Rob and the rest of the Turnbulls in the ballroom were gaping in rage and disbelief. "B-Brother Jan... was using me?"

Rob was trembling all over even as he lay sprawled on the floor, his gaze blank as his convictions vaporized. "Still going to be stubborn, Rob?" Vicky demanded icily.

"I..."

Rob's jaw hung open, unable to speak.

Still, he was eventually hiding his face in his palm as he bawled, "H-How did this happen?! I treated him like my brother! How could he do this?!"

Frank looked on in contempt at Rob's miserable breakdown.

Forget being stupid-he was supposed to be the heir to one of the Four Families of Morhen, and he was crying?!

The future of the Turnbulls was really grim...

Naturally, Frank had his own rewards from helping the Turnbulls.

His fellow apprentice, Ciaran Zobel, who was otherwise known as the South Sea Crow, was not executed as Jan had claimed.

While that thought comforted Frank, it still hurt to come up with a rescue plan.

Unlike with the Soranos, if Frank went to Lionheart Estate demanding Ciaran back, what awaited him was not acalm negotiation but ao bloodbath.

And if he were to be honest, he was not confident about beating Simon Lionheart or getting Ciaran out of the Lionheart Estate alive. That was why he must not act reckless for now.

But just as Frank thought about his next step, Glen returned to the mike.

Glancing at Vicky and Frank, he sighed heavily before speaking quietly, "It seems that Rob really took us for a ride this time... It was never the South Sea Crow but a conspiracy of the Lionhearts that Rob fell for, and he was in turn used like a tool against us. It is as frustrating as it is disappointing."

Rob flinched at Glen's words and looked up miserably at his father. "Dad, I—" "Don't call me dad. I don't have a wretched son like you."

Glen shook his head. "I've always thought you were simple-minded and would have trouble becoming the head of the family. That's why sent you to military training, so that you could see the world and

understand the dark side of people... I just didn't think that you were so stupid, and you are now both a disappointment and embarrassment to us all."

Clearing his throat, Glen cleared his throat as his eyes flashed coldly. "Rob Turnbull is no longer my successor!"
