Chapter 12
Chapter 12
"Fen Qin, can you save her?" Xue Yahui looked to Fen Qin. Fen Qin looked to the woman was really
looking pale.
"Bring her in." Fen Qin had the woman laid down in the guest room's bed. "Lord Xue, please remain
outside." Fen Qin informed him, going back into the room. Fen Qin had Zeng Mingzhu help her with
getting some herbs and materials. Grabbing her needles, she was going to try her best since there was
something wrong with her pulse. There was another beat, but it wasn't exactly hers. "What were you
thinking?" Fen Qin looked to the woman before her who laid down unconscious.

Xue Yahui had been looking up what had happened which he did find that the merchants had gone
another path due to some issues with taking a certain pathway. The missing people had either fallen
down the cliff of another pathway they took or they were ambushed. There wasn't much information,
but Xue Yahui assumed that they had likely been ambushed along the way. RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
Looking through it for a month, it was a good progress in his head. "I have to tell Jiang Gen about this."
He would still meet up with Jiang Gen from time to time even though he had been dismissed from his
duty. Xue Yahui would see him time to time doing little jobs.
Reaching Jiang Gen's home, he didn't see anyone answering the door. Although, the doors were not
locked so he went on ahead inside. "Tao Jinjing? Jiang Gen?" Xue Yahui looked around until he came
to a stop seeing an unconscious woman in the ground. "Tao Jinjing?!" Seeing how weak and pale she
looked. He saw a small bowl in her hand which he caught the scent knowing it had poison in it.
Rushing to Fen Qin's home, he needed to save her. He didn't want her to die along with leaving Jiang
Gen sadden.
Waiting now for Fen Qin, he has already sent a message to Jiang Gen about his sister-in-law. "Lord
Xue?! What happened?!" Jiang Gen tried going into the room, but Xue Yahui stopped him.
"We cannot go in yet. We have to wait until they are done." Xue Yahui had Jiang Gen sit down knowing
how impatient he was at that moment.
"It's my fault. I didn't take better care of her." Jiang Gen blamed himself when Xue Yahui couldn't really
say anything. They didn't know the true story behind for what had happened to Tao Jinjing. Exiting out
of the room, Fen Qin sighed feeling exhausted.
"How is she?" Jiang Gen rushed over to Fen Qin who stared at him. "She's fine. She'll wake up soon so
you can stay in the room with her. Although, I do wish to ask her something when she wakes up." Fen
Qin wiped her head with a handkerchief. Going into the medicine room, Fen Qin had no choice. She
had to use the only sample she had since the poison in Tao Jinjing's body was almost like the Tomb
Spite, but less dangerous to some extent. "I'm sorry, Sister Qi."
Fen Qin looked to the empty jar that had the sample of the antidote. "Are you alright?" Xue Yahui
entered inside the room. Seeing how Fen Qin looked a bit distress.
"I'm fine. Shouldn't you be checking up on that woman?" Fen Qin didn't know what both of them had,
but she didn't bother to ask.
"Don't try to misunderstand us. I'm merely just a friend of her brother's. She already has a husband."
Xue Yahui eyed Fen Qin who still showed no sign of care about their relationship. "What was in that jar
before?"
Fen Qin looked to the jar that her hand was on. "It was nothing. It had an antidote that I used, but also
what I've been working on." Putting the jar back, she couldn't be angered since it was important to use
at that moment. "Oh, do you perhaps grow Grain Ivy?" Fen Qin looked to Xue Yahui who stared back at
her.
"I've heard of it. I've tried as well to grow it once, but failed. I'm not sure if you can find any, but I do
know a few places that can have it." Xue Yahui looked to Fen Qin who was asking him about the rare
herb. "Why do you need it?"
"It's for an antidote." Fen Qin looked to him then back to the empty jar.
"It seems as though the antidote you made before was very important. I'm sorry if you had to use it. Tell
me the herbs and I will look for them to the best of my abilities as I can." Xue Yahui wanted to help her
for helping him.
"The only herb I need is Grain Ivy. It's the only thing I need in order to make another one." Fen Qin
looked to him which Xue Yahui didn't know if he could find it, but he was going to do his best to find it.
"I'll do my best to find it even if it kills me." Xue Yahui said knowing how he kept his words to help those
that helped him back or to those he promised.
"Why did you save me?! I didn't want to live anymore!!!" Hearing Tao Jinjing awake, both Fen Qin and
Xue Yahui went to take a look at what was happening inside.
"Sister Jinjing! You cannot die! What would my older brother think?!" Jiang Gen was trying to calm Tao
Jinjing down knowing how hard it was to have her calm down.
"He won't come back!!! I've been waiting for almost three months and I can't stand it anymore! It's like
he's still alive, but at the same time he's not!!!!" Tao Jinjing was crying which Fen Qin sighed thinking
about how the poison went into her body.
"So you wanted to die." Fen Qin looked to the two struggling and looking to them both. "Such a waste
of my antidote for someone like you." Fen Qin felt angered knowing how she could've let the woman
die, but she didn't since there was a reason.
"Why did you save me then?! You should have let me die!" Tao Jinjing was yelling at Fen Qin who
stood indifferent if they yelled back or not.
"I save anyone who begs me. Clearly, Lord Xue begged me so I did as I was told. I don't save
immortals, but I still had a favor to fulfill from Lord Xue. Which the favor has now be paid back." Fen
Qin looked to the woman who still didn't look happy.
"You should have just left me to die!!!! I can't stand being alive!!!!"
"Sister Jinjing, calm down." Jiang Gen didn't want her it be any more stressed than she already was.
"Do you want to know the real reason why I saved you?" Fen Qin looked to the woman who finally
calmed down looking at her. "Your pregnant."

Meanwhile, there was a man in dark clothes clutching his chest, but at the same time feeling nauseous.
"Hey? Are you alright?" One of his fellow comrades asked looking at how he was holding his chest
tightly.
The man got up slowly still feeling the heartache in his chest. "En, just now... I felt..." He stopped and
held his hand in a fist. "Nothing." Walking with his comrade who still kept staring at him. 'I felt... sad and
sick.'
