Chapter 2918
For Nolan, the thought of having a child with Regina was beyond exciting. Gender didn’t matter to him one bit. If they had a daughter, he’d spoil her rotten, turning her into his little princess. And if they had a son… well, that boy would be just as spoiled.
As these thoughts drifted through his mind, Nolan couldn’t help but let out a wry smile. Any child of Regina’s was bound to be his favorite, no questions asked.
Meanwhile, Regina was oblivious to the daydreams happening on the other end of the line, her voice pouting through the phone.
“This is so annoying. If it weren’t for needing that evidence, I would never have come back here. Everything at home just leaves a bad taste in my mouth now, not even Emma’s cooking can save it.”
Hearing Regina’s complaints, Nolan couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy. “Why don’t you just come out then? Do you plan on sitting at that dinner table forever?”
Regina was surprised. “You’re here already? You came to pick me up?”
As she spoke, she started moving towards the door, catching sight of Nolan’s car parked outside. She couldn’t help but let out a joyful laugh, “Why didn’t you tell me sooner? If I’d known you were coming, I wouldn’t have even bothered staying for the meal!”
“So you’re just trying to avoid your dad, and that’s why you want to go out with me?” Nolan teased, a relaxed expression on his face, visible even through the car window.
Regina opened the door and hopped in, ending the call as she did.
Looking over at Nolan with sparkling eyes, she asked, “Where are we eating today?”
“Is that the only thing on your mind when you see me? Can’t we just go on a date?” Nolan couldn’t help but feel slightly exasperated. He’d set a precedent, always taking her on culinary adventures, and now Regina had come to expect a new foodie destination every time they met.
“How about we grab something and then catch a movie?” she suggested, patting her stomach, which growled on cue as if to emphasize her point. She hadn’t been able to stomach anything back at the dinner table and was genuinely famished.
Nolan let out a chuckle, “Let’s go, my little foodie.”
As Regina buckled up, her blush deepened, reflecting the warmth of her feelings. Through these repeated outings, their affection for each other had quietly deepened.
Even though Regina might have been hesitant to label these meet-ups as dates, she couldn’t ignore the flutter in her heart each time she was close to Nolan, allowing herself to indulge in these moments.
Nolan understood there were things Regina was concerned about, aware that until the issues with her family were resolved, she’d never be able to openly admit her feelings for him.
But he was patient, willing to give her time to sort through her emotions. All he could do was be there for her, hoping that with each heartbeat she felt when they were together, she’d hear her own thoughts more clearly. Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.
He was a man of action, believing actions spoke louder than words. Nolan was convinced that eventually, Regina would recognize her feelings for what they were.
Neither of them expected the surprises life had in store, adding unexpected twists to their calm existence.
After a long day at work, Nolan’s timely call was a bright spot for Regina. Even before she heard his voice, her face was already lit up with a smile.
“Going home tonight?”
