The Luna’s Hidden Destiny – Chapter 5
A small grain of fear filling me from how painful this might be.
‘Just breathe deeply, after this it will get better each time okay?’
Her words soothed me.
“Just let your wolf take control.” My dads voice echoed through me as I slowly slipped into the back of my mind.
Feeling Calypso take the reigns, my body began to warm. It was subtle at first but then it got noticeably worse as it felt like my own b***d began to boil. As if whatever essence I had before was now being burnt away and recreated. Once the relentless burning finally began to subside, my bones started to pull and stretch. It felt as if they were splintering and bending as I heard loud pops and cracks filling the air around us.
The pain so surreal I went to open my mouth, trying to scream and yell as my body was no longer under my control. The only thing that filled me now was that excruciating pain. I dizzily looked down at my hands, no those weren’t mine anymore, dark brown fur began to sprout as they stretched out. A sharp crack sent me reeling as I wasn’t sure if I could hold on much longer.
‘Just breathe, just breathe.’
I began to chant to myself, fighting through this pain as I internally clenched my teeth. After what felt like hours, it all finally stopped, it was done, my mind now clear and the pain subsided. I was fully transformed, Calypso was now free. I looked down, realizing my fur wasn’t just brown, it had golden highlights that seemed to shimmer in the sun. That surprised me as Calypso began lifting her paws, stepping towards my dad that stood in front of us with his mouth gaping open.
“Wow..you are magnificent.” He said in wonderment, reaching his hand out as Calypso nuzzled into him. He gently ran his hands through our thick soft fur as he studied us.
‘You really are Calypso, you are incredible.’NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
I felt her warmth as if she were smiling at me.
‘We are incredible darling.’
Just then my dad quickly transformed, Lucius now towered above us. I guess we were still pretty small in stature, but I bet we were faster.
‘Oh yes, I bet we are.’
Calypso said excitedly, as she walked up to Lucius, nudging into him.
‘My pup.’
I heard Lucius’s gruff voice speak in our mind as Calypso began prancing around him playfully.
‘Let’s go for a run Mil.’
My dad linked to me and before I could even respond we were off. I watched as Calypso felt the earth beneath her feet for the first time. Happiness filling her completely as she bounded through the trees, following our dad around.
She jumped through the snow and weaved through the trees. Racing faster than I ever thought possible. Lucius trailed behind us as Calypso sniffed the air. All of these new sensations so overpowering as we continued to explore. We must of been running for hours because the sun was now starting to set. We tracked back towards the cabin and my dad quickly transformed back, grabbing his shirt and pants as he slipped them on.
“Let me get you some clothes kiddo then you can transform back.” He said, stroking Calypso’s soft fur one last time. It was almost like he couldn’t pull himself away, his eyes glued to us even as he entered the house. Calypso sat down, waiting patiently.
‘This has been the best day, I can’t wait until we can meet our mate and run with him.’
She sighed happily, the idea of finding our mate her top priority still.
‘I wonder what he will look like.’
I whispered, unsure of what to even expect from our mate. I was so clueless, that’s for sure.
‘He will definitely be handsome, probably tall and muscular. Oh, his wolf will be huge too, I bet he will be like a teddy bear though. But he will be able to overpower us when he wants to.’
She said sweetly, a soft purr leaving her.
‘Calypso!’
‘What? I like a strong Alpha male.’
She said like it was nothing.
‘Not to burst your bubble, but unless the moon goddess takes requests now, I doubt he fits all that.’
She laughed, lifting her head up as dad approached with some new clothes. His eyes glistening from the sight of us. Before setting the clothes down he squated in front of us. His hands petting Calypso once more as she nuzzled into him.
“We can start doing runs every night, okay Calypso?” He said gently and she nodded her head, excitement filling her.
He quickly stood, turning around as Calypso began to slowly slip back into my mind. My body transforming back, which was much easier than turning into a wolf. I stood up, looking at my hands as i quickly reached for the clothes, slipping them on.
“Okay I’m dressed.” I said quietly, looking at my dad as he walked towards me, wrapping his arms around me.
“I’m proud of you kiddo.” He said ruffling my hair, surprising me as he pulled back. His brown eyes sparking as he stared at me.
“Thanks dad, I love you.” I said, feeling emotional. I don’t know why I felt so overwhelmed.
“I love you too Mila.” He slowly began to stroke the back of my head as he pulled back.
“I didn’t expect her to be so magnificent, the gold in her fur, it practically glowed.” He said in awe. I nodded my head, looking into his eyes.
“She is more than I ever imagined.” It was the truth, I felt like Calypso was way out of my league, if that made sense. I felt a pang of guilt, there wasn’t a way I was sent the wrong wolf was there? Like the moon goddess made a mistake and I was accidentally sent another woman’s wolf.
‘Never think that again, we are one Mila, I am you. You are me, there was no mistake, the moon goddess makes no mistakes.’
I nodded my head as my dad ran to get my boots for me. I quickly slipped them on and felt completely exhausted. She was right though, there was no way there could of been a mistake. I just felt like Calypso was way beyond my level, maybe eventually as I grow more, I will gain more confidence. She was just so regal and elegant, even her wolf form was incredible. I mean, my wolf form..she is me and I am her.
‘There you go, that’s better.’
She said sleepily, I could feel her slipping further into my mind as she slowly drifted to sleep. My own eyes feeling heavy now as we walked towards the house.
“You should get some rest, you need to rebuild your strength after that.” My dad spoke softly.
I nodded my head and suddenly that feeling of being watched filled me once more. I looked back over my shoulder, trying to see if anyone was there. Nothing, I wonder why I was so paranoid. My dad helped me into the house and to my room. I quickly flopped onto the bed, practically falling asleep right there as he turned out my light, closing my door softly.
“Get some sleep kiddo.” He whispered.
I dreamed of running through the snow, Calypso breathing heavily as she weaved in and out of the trees. This time though, the wolf running with me wasn’t my father. It was a wolf with sparkling silver fur.
