The Wolf Who hated alphas

37 – Reconnection

“Hey grandpa, what is the ideal skill of a warrior?” the little boy with white hair and gray eyes asked, curious.

“Strength and intelligence make up the ideal skill of a warrior, Joshua.”

“Do you think I’ll ever be like that?” he asked, hopeful.

“Of course. You have my blood, Josh. There’s no one stronger. Therefore, you must marry someone like you, powerful and without any blemish.”

“Defect?”

“Yes, like that girl.” Her grandfather pointed to a wheelchair child. “Marrying someone like her will weaken our family.”

“Father.” Cassius screamed, approaching them both.

He took his son by the arm and brought him close.

“Don’t bring your prejudiced ideas to my son.”

The old man just laughed, but it remained in Joshua’s mind for a long time.

Joshua woke up aching, he managed to get up, but there was something in his eye. It was a tampon. Now, he had remembered what happened.

At that moment, someone squeezed his arm. It was Thomas. He seemed to have just woken up and had a worried expression.

“Are you okay? Are you in pain?” he signaled.

“Hmm. A little.” Joshua signaled.

“I’ll call the doctor.” Thomas replied, but was prevented.

“Wait. Are you okay? And Elisa? Have I been here a long time?”

Thomas looked at him even more frightened and replied:

“We are. Don’t worry about us. It’s been a whole day now. You’re burning up in fever.” he replied by putting one hand on the alpha’s forehead. ” I’ll call the doctor. Don’t go anywhere.”

Thomas was right. Joshua was a little dizzy and he felt hot. Maybe it was a fever.

Joshua lay down and closed his eyes. Sleep came again. And he dreamed.

The first thing he saw was Thomas’s smile. He waved at him and Joshua waved back.

Thomas was always polite when talking through messages and Joshua fell in love with his intelligence.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

Until the wedding day. That was the happiest day of his life. He could kiss Thomas, touch him and they would be one.

The night was as Joshua imagined, but he noticed that Thomas couldn’t produce sound. What did it mean? That he was someone with a “flaw” like your grandfather said?

“Thomas, can’t you talk?”

Thomas denied it and then a strange feeling took hold of him. A feeling of being weak and bringing weakness to your family as your grandfather had said.

Joshua was the oldest, but not as strong as his father. Everyone said he would be a strong alpha like his father.

And for that, he had discounted his Omega.

Your wolf wanted to do something, ask for forgiveness.

——

Thomas called the doctor in a hurry.

When they reached the room, Joshua was struggling. The specialist put a cold water compress on his forehead.

The delusion continued: Joshua often died the names of his parents, but predominantly that of Thomas and Elisa.

Thomas held his hand tightly, not knowing what was happening. Didn’t Mother heal? Was Joshua rejecting the power of his ancestor?

Many ideas crossed his mind. The doctor asked them to wait and let Joshua rest. The medicine he had injected into his vein would soon take effect.

Thomas realized that someone had entered the room, it was Aurelius.

“Would you like to take a break, dear? Come and rest for a while. Joshua is strong.”

Thomas watched his alpha once again and left the room.

Amaia gave Elisa to Thomas and he kissed his daughter.

“Come, dear. Eat a little.”

Thomas sat down and ate quietly.

“How are you, dear?” she asked, worried.

Thomas replied, signaling:

“Well, thank you. I’m more worried about Joshua.”

“Josh is strong. He will overcome.”

Thomas began to give Elisa something to eat, pieces of fruit and the girl patted with joy. This made him and Amaia smile.

“Can you tell me why Joshua acted that way with me? He told me something but not everything. What was his grandfather like?”

Amaia’s expression changed, she was sad, suddenly.

“Sir Aurelius was not as good as one would expect from a commander. He accepted no weakness, and considered any deficiency, one of them.”

She took a sip of water before continuing.

“Unfortunately, Joshua spent a lot of time with him. And my husband lived in the army in times of wars and massacres among the clans. And so, there was only the grandfather as a father figure for him.”

Thomas listened calmly, while Elisa already slept in his lap.

“Cassius was very strict in the old days. Today, he learned his own lesson. But before, he did not accept failure. Not like his father, but he wanted his soldiers to make the most of themselves. It never reached a level of prejudice like the old Aurelius but my husband never accepted mischief and things like that.”

Amaia looked at the portrait of the family in the corner of the room and continued :

“Joshua always wanted to impress his father and grandfather. It doesn’t justify what he did, but his head was shaped in a way that maybe there was no other way. That’s the explanation I found. I talked to him for a long time after that day. And the guilt became present in a way I didn’t imagine. I’m sure he regretted it and now he just wants to go on with his life.”

Thomas was thoughtful for a few moments he still didn’t know how to feel about Joshua. But he knew he still cared about him.

Elisa stroked her father’s face and Thomas kissed his little hands.

Until a huge wolf appeared in the room. Thomas stood up, frightened, holding Elisa in his lap.

However, he recognized him after the panic passed. A sense of comfort came towards him and the wolf’s gray eyes were recognizable.

It was Joshua.

Thomas let the big wolf get close. The animal sniffed them out and Elisa stroked his fennel.

Thomas was afraid at that moment, was Joshua able to discern that it was his daughter?

But to her relief. The wolf licked her hand and the child laughed.

Thomas gave his daughter to Amaia, who looked frightened. And also turned into a dark-haired wolf with yellow eyes.

The wolves sniffed and nested. One recognizing the other as their alpha or omega.

Seconds later, the white wolf fell and turned into Joshua again. He seemed calm and well. There was no more fever or whispering.

Thomas smiled and turned back, allowing him to rest on his lap.
