Using Baby Daddy For Revenge

Mr Steven’s office

“Hello, godmother.”

As promised Melissa took her son to the Steven mansion.

“Oh, Melissa you’re here. Is this my grandson?” Diana’s mother hugged Melissa, then turned to the little boy beside her.

“Yes, this is Tommy.”

“Hello, grandma.” Hearing Tommy call her grandmother brought tears to her eyes.

“Oh, such an obedient child. Thank you for bringing him to visit. Let’s go to the garden I have a surprise for you.” They followed her closely as she directed them to the backyard.

Though it was on a weekend none of her family members were around. Which was what Melissa needed, but she felt sad for her godmother. It was quite lonely for her to just stay all by herself. Despite having the maids around, Melissa knew how hard it was for her as her husband and Diana handled all the businesses while her other daughter was in college most of the time.

“This is nice godmother, but you didn’t have to buy him anything.” Melissa smiled looking at the blue car her godmother gave to Tommy.

“He is my grandson. He deserves that and more.” She smiled grateful for the opportunity Melissa gave her, despite abandoning her when she needed them most.

At the nice playground and the car Mrs. Steven bought Tommy, they spent the day playing in the garden. With her mostly showing Tommy the games they played as Melissa watched.

“Ha ha ha! You’re such a bright boy.” Laughing so hard she praised him, then touched his cheek when he beat her in the crossword puzzle.

“No grandma, I’m a young man. That’s what mum told me.” Tommy spoke looking at his mother wowing Mrs. Steven more.

Looking at the small child, reminded her so much of her friend which brought tears to her eyes.

“Ah, yes you are indeed a young man.” She spoke with a heavy voice. “Let me get you some snacks to share with your mother then we can make lunch.”

As her godmother went into the house, Melissa took the opportunity to get upstairs. With the maids busy cleaning out in the backyard and others in the kitchen, she planned to sneak into Diana’s room. Aiming to check the documents she saw Diana bring home, she cautiously went up the staircase to the first floor.

Unfortunately, she didn’t know which room was Diana’s though she had seen her head to the first floor, she didn’t see which room she walked in.

Standing in the corridor on the first floor, she looked at the doors on each side. Deciding to check each one of them, she opened the first room, but it was locked.

She tried all the others but they were all locked. After checking all the rooms on the first floor with no luck, she went back to the garden hoping to find those room keys.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

“Oh no.” Passing by the living room, Mrs. Steven waved to Melissa motioning her over.

Sauntering towards her, Melissa bit her inner lip thinking of the excuse she would give for sneaking into the house. With the phone in her hand, Mrs. Steven instructed one of the maids to get a key.

Apparently, Mr. Steven had sent his personal driver to get some documents he had left in his office and was calling to inform her.

“Melissa can you get me the documents.” Getting the key as the maid handed it to her, she turned to Melissa.

“Sure I will. Which room is it?” With her heart raising, Melissa nodded as Mrs. Steven gave directions to the office, handing her the key.

Though it was a little suspicious she sent her to get the documents, Melissa saw it as an opportunity to get the evidence she was looking for.

With the key in her hand, she raised her chin high ignoring the looks the maid gave her. Walking into the office, her eyes landed on the files on the desk. Despite the urge to go through them, she decided to look in the drawers. With the draws closed, Melissa decided to scan the documents on the desktop with her phone, including the very important one Mr. Steven had asked for.

Getting to Diana’s room was her plan but being in Mr. Steven’s office was better. Though she couldn’t get the drawer open, she managed to scan the document, and hopefully, it would lead her somewhere.

“Jessica you’re back.” Walking downstairs she bumped into their youngest daughter.

They had not met for years since Jessica was shipped to boarding school at a young age. Growing up away from the family, Melissa wondered how they got along as neither Diana nor her godmother spoke about her.

“How have you been?” Melissa inquired smiling at her but Jessica maintained her indifferent look.

“Melissa, what are you doing here?” Jessica roared.

“I brought my son to meet godmother. She just sent me to get these documents for your dad.” Melissa explained waving the envelope in her hand.

“Come let’s join them in the kitchen. We can make lunch together.” Offering, she passed by her heading to the kitchen, but Jessica stopped her.

“Don’t involve my mother in your plans.” With a dark look in her eyes, Jessica spoke holding Melissa by the elbow.

“Jessica, What are you talking about? Is it wrong for me to bring my son to visit his grandmother?”

“Grandmother huh!” She snorted. “Don’t cause trouble for her. You just show up after all these years acting nice to the people who didn’t stand by you when you lost your parents. Now you expect us to buy your forgiveness story?

Pulling her hand back, Melissa gave her a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. “They are not to blame for what happened, why should I stay mad?”

Folding her arms over her chest, Jessica looked her straight in the eye. “I don’t buy it.”

“Godmother explained why she was not here and I have no hatred for either of you.”

“My mother is so naive you can fool her, but don’t think they believe your story. Dad never lets anyone other than Diana into his office when he is not around, so think again about what you are planning to do.” With that, she went up not sparing her another glance.

For a moment Melissa stood there wondering if giving her the key to the office was just a setup.

Remembering how tense her godmother looked when she walked towards her while on the phone, Melissa wondered to herself.

“Could she? No.”

She thought her godmother didn’t have any idea of what had happened but maybe she was wrong about her. It won’t be easy to get any information from the house if her godmother was part of the business.

Getting back to the kitchen, she gave the documents to the driver. After he left, Melissa tried to ask about the business but her godmother changed the topic, talking about how her mother had helped her when they were young.

She and Melissa’s mother had grown up together at the orphanage, and after school, her mother took both her and Betty to live in the city when she got a job. Then later she met Mr. Steven while working as a cook in a high end hotel.

Growing up all alone and losing her best friend, her husband, and her daughters were the only family she had. Looking at her godmother, Melissa knew she wouldn’t betray the people she loved.
